全国汽车标准化技术委员会秘书处设在CATARC，负责全国汽车标准的归口 管理，承担标准制定与宣贯，与ISO、IEC、ECE/WP29、APEC/TPT联系与 协调。
2010年汽车零部件出口超400亿美元，6%的汽车整车产量和30%摩托车产 量出口。

中国汽车强制性标准体系主要参照ECE/EEC技术法规制定，在内容上与欧、 美、日技术法规相协调；
85 mandatory standards for automobile & motorcycle already released, among which 68 for safety, and 17 for environment protection and energy saving
标准数量增加、实施力度加大，逐渐与国际接规，促进了汽车工业的技术进 步和法制化、国际化进程；
市场规模不断增长，但生产集中度不够高，产业整体竞争力弱。

Importation Policy for “Auto Parts & Components Constituting a Complete Vehicle”
Project documentation and government bureau in charge: for vehicle, agricultural vehicle and engine manufactures, expansion of manufacturing capacity for existing product categories or new products with self-raised capitals must be reported and documented to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC); Investment projects of motorcycle and its engine, auto/motorcycle components must be reported and documented by provincial level investment management bureau.
