1. How long, and in what capacity have you known the applicant?

I am Miss Chen’s advisor since she entered our university. And I conducted most of her core courses, including Basic Korean, Medium Korean, Advanced Korean. So I am in a good position to know her well.

2. Please comment on the applicant's strengths and weaknesses.

While at the university, she was an outstanding student with positive active mind essential. Whene ver I put the question in the class, she could take a quick reaction and gave me the precise ans wer with good analytical capability. After class, because of her industrious attitude towards study, she co uld always finish the schoolwork well and show us her strong independent and self-study ability. B esides Korean, she also mastered English. She was good at reading English and had no difficulties in expressing her ideas. During these years she studied with me, her excellent performance in class and great potential in learning were impressed me deeply.

However sometimes she was not careful enough. She made some careless mistakes in the textb ook occasionally. But she was a serious student. After I talking to her, she became more cautious.

3. Please describe some activities or programs in which the applicant was involved, which illustrate

his/her abilities.

Miss Chen Miao was also an optimistic and easy-going student. Under the high pressure on study, she was still active at different kinds of activities in the university. As I knew that she has learne d percussion instrument since she was a primary school pupil. After entered our university, she join ed the orchestra and trained every week. She could balance orchestra activity and study well. And she has the good cooperate skill which she has shown me the teamwork in orchestra performance.
