Whether it’s music or speech – the proximity:EQ + gets you closer to premium sound. It’s a rare occasion when you actually manage to put on tape the perfect mix you’ve had spinning around in your head. We’ve all been there: you’re entering postproduction with high hopes, only to realize that the sound of your first few seconds of recording takes you right back to your old rehearsal room in the basement. It’s to fix this problem that we developed the proximity:EQ +. Thanks to its adjustable settings for direct sound and rever-beration, this plug-in lets you retrospectively shape the room’s acoustics, any way you can imagine. This intuitive tool lets you turn fuzzy recordings into crisp statements, diplomati-cally put an overambitious singer in the back, or give that muffled bass the kick it needs. Thanks to its ability to separate reverberation and direct sound particles, the proximity:EQ +plug-in lets you amplify or silence certain parts of your room acoustics – depending on your vision of the perfect sound in postproduction.welcome to proximity:EQ+m a n u a lp r o x i m i t y :E Q +s y s t e m r e q u i r e m e n t s | W i n d o w s | O S Xi n s t a l l Mac OSXTo start the installation process, please open thedownloaded disk imagesonible_proximityeq_mac.dmg .This will mount the image and open a finder window showing the content of the installation package. To install proximity:EQ+ on your system, please run the installation file proximityeq_installer.mpkg .

Thank you for purchasing the Chandler Limited Little Devil Pre Amp. Your Devil is handmade in the USA by real people. What does that mean? We do not use large solder or component machines that pick and solder the parts. We pay a real person to do it like they did in the golden age of gear. We do not have most of our work done in China only to do nal assembly in America and then call it made in USA. We do not use surface mount components or ribbon cables that have been recently developed to shrink the size and build time of cell phones and computers. Instead we use time proven through-hole audio components, discrete transistors, and large transformers just like they did in the golden age of gear.At Chandler we are proud of our American made products and we hope you like them! The Little Devil Pre uses a 100% discrete transistor circuit and specially wound transformers. We feel a power supply in such close proximity to the right hand slots of the rack can cause hum and noise oor issues with many modules by many manufacturers. For this reason we mainly recommend the API 500v rack with external L200 supply and the BAE 11-slot with external supply.NOTES on BAE racks-We recommend adding a wire from Earth to power supply common on all BAE racks. In many cases hum can be avoided and Earth to common is standard procedure on most electronic equipment.GAIN - max gain 66.5 MIC/LINE- There are three di erent input types on the Devil 500. Mic/line switchesLOW/HIGH- Selects low or high impedance for BOTH mic and line freq response.FEEDBACK/BIAS-bias of the gain stage AT THE SAME TIME as the feedback. So what does this mean?Well you can modify about any parameter of the sound of the pre with the use of the feedback/bias control. It will change the frequency response in the hi and low areas, harmonic distortion, nature of clipping, and the overall tonal characteristic of the pre amp. For example with the feedback on full the sound gets “gushy” as users have described. The unit will soft clip much earlier, harmonics increase exponentially, hi frequency is slightly increased and the unit takes on a very high voltage “overbiased” Class A personality. With the feedback control low you get a very colored but more “tame” sound. Harmonics are very low (in the range of .007%) and noise is the lowest possible with the unit, in the area of -93db. The sound could be described as an accurate but interestingly colored Class A sound. With the Feedback/Gain near the middle of its operation you will get the most headroom and what could be considered the most typical operation of a mic pre. All parameters tend to come into the norm for a Class A style mic pre, BUT don't let that keep you from using it set there! The pre always has a great colored sound we all look for!Feedback continued on next page. . .IMPEDANCE LINEfeedback& biasNOTES ON FEEDBACK-With the feedback all the way down you will not get much level. This is the nature of feedback. Lots of feedback = very little gain. I wanted it like that because there are very speci c sounds you can get with it. For example, with lots of feedback (control o or counter clockwise)you get very little distortion and the noise oor is very low. It also allows you to use the pre with almost no gain for when you are recording loud sources like drums and guitar.Control o or counter clockwise- Lots of feedback, Little gain.Control full or clockwise- Very little feedback, lots of gain.pres with this feature, headroom of the pre is decreased as you lower the signal butwith the added bene t of a lower noise oor. The Devil pre loves to be driven so try this out! BRIGHT-LOW CUT-Gently sloping low cut at 100hz. We tuned this to work as needed with instruments such as acoustic guitar and voice.much di erent than that on readily available direct boxes. Please note that it is possible to make the DI oscillate with the Gain and Feedback/Bias at or near maximum. We did not compensate for this because it would alter the overall tone of the pre amp. In standard Mic or Line input it is not possible to cause oscillation.PHASE-Reverses the output polarity of the unit at the output transformer.DIRECT INoutputMIC48vCE CertificationChandler Limited declares under its sole responsibility that all products manufactured by them are in compliance with EC directives 2004/108/EC Electromagnetic Compatibility; 2004/108/EG Electromagnetic Compatibility; 2006/95/EC Low Voltage Equipment Safety.。

Section 1ContentsSection 1Power/Vac® Switchgear ConceptsAnd Basic ConfigurationsPageUSE OF APPLICATION GUIDE..........................................................................1-2 Power/Vac® METALCLAD SWITCHGEAR.........................................................1-2 SWITCHGEAR STANDARDS............................................................................1-4TWO-TIER BREAKER STACKING.....................................................................1-4 MODULAR CONSTRUCTION AND TYPICAL SECTION VIEWS........................1-51-1Power/Vac ®Switchgear ConceptsUSE OF APPLICATION GUIDEThis Application Guide provides information necessary to help plan and specify medium-volt-age power system switchgear, using Power/Vac ®vacuum metalclad switchgear application proce-dure in an orderly, step-by-step manner. Since it is intended to be a workbook, only the data nec-essary to choose applicable switchgear is in-cluded.Complete specifications can be written for most switchgear applications using this publi-cation. Guidance is given in developing a sys-tem one-line diagram, calculating short circuit currents, and references to appropriate litera-ture is presented. This technical information goes beyond the usual scope of an application guide. General Electric, under special contract agreements, will perform power system studies, including the necessary calculations and com-parisons.The topics discussed in the first five sections of this guide are of a general nature, applicable to any type of medium-voltage metalclad switchgear. Information is provided relating to one-line diagrams, circuit breaker ratings and selection, control power requirements, basic circuit protections considerations, and specific recommendations for protection, instrumenta-tion, and control for basic switchgear circuits. The remainder of the application guide ex-plains the application and specification of Power/Vac metalclad switchgear. The concepts of modular construction and device package struc-turing are basic to Power/Vac switchgear and are introduced and illustrated through applica-tion details covering the use of Power/Vac switchgear and breakers in basic circuit appli-cations. Auxiliary unit and power conductor com-partment structuring are also included. Follow-ing the selection of individual units, an optimum lineup configuration can be developed using the guidelines given. Finally, a specification proce-dure, complete with Guide Form Specifications,is suggested to facilitate the documentation of Power/Vac metalclad switchgear requirements. This approach to metalclad switchgear applica-tion is typical and its use is recommended.Where practical, begin with Section 2 and work through the guide in a step-by-step fashion. The guide’s structure is based on extensive engi-neering experience and will serve as a check 1-2list which will aid in preparing complete specifi-cations.Since the application of Power/Vac metalclad switchgear is the underlying purpose of this guide,a brief introduction of Power/Vac will serve as useful starting point to begin the application procedure.Power/Vac ® METALCLADSWITCHGEARPower/Vac metalclad switchgear is designed for applications on 4.76kV, 8.25V, and 15-kV power systems with available short-circuit capacities from 20kA through 63kA symmetrical. A typical four section, six curcuit breaker lineup of indoor Power/Vac switchgear is shown in Figure 1-1.Figure 1-1. Typical lineup of indoorPower/Vac switchgear.Power/Vac circuit breakers are rated per ANSI C37.06-2000, Table 1. Breakers tested to earlier ANSI C37.06-1987 ratings with K>1.0 are also available. Available ratings are shown on page 3-1.1 and 3.1.2 of this application guide.Power/Vac switchgear is designed, built, and tested to the applicable industry standards shown in Table 1-1.Power/Vac equipment is furnished in four ba-sic types; indoor, outdoor weather proof (no aisle),protected-aisle outdoor, and common-aisle outdoor (aisle shared by two facing lineups). Typical sec-tion outlines for each of the basic equipment types, along with dimensions and weights are shown in Section 7.Section 11-3Compliance with other National Standards Must be reviewed with GE Sales.Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL)Power/Vac vacuum metalclad switchgear and associated circuit breakers are optionally available with UL labeling. The requirement for UL labeling must be made known as a requirement in the bidding stage and agreed to by GE. Typical upper and lower unit configurations.Power/Vac metalclad switchgear combines the advantage of metalclad construction- safety and flexibility-with the benefits of vacuum interrupters-reliability, low maintenance, and reduced breaker size and weight.Specifically, Power/Vac switchgear incorporates the following basic design elements, compared to SF6 and other designs of vacuum metalclad switchgear.· Power/Vac offers two-high breaker stackingfor application flexibility and floor space sav-ings.· Power/Vac utilizes modular construction re-sulting in one basic vertical section size, thus simplifying system planning and providing installation savings.· Power/Vac features four-high auxiliary ar-rangements, providing additional flexibility rangement of switchgear units in a lineup. Since these application considerations are a result of the equipment design, a brief illustration of Power/Vac switchgear design concepts is provided.TWO-HIGH BREAKER STACKINGMixing and matching of a variety of 94" deep unit types and breaker ratings is possible using two-high unit stacking. The twelve basic combi-nations of upper and lower units are shown in Fig-ure 1-4. Indoor 82" deep structure as well as 106"deep optional stacks are available. If 2-high switchgear is required in 82" depth, cables for the A compartment breaker must exit the top of the stack and the cables for the B compartment breaker must exit out the bottom of the stack. In addition, several other restrictions apply and GE Sales Office should be consulted.MODULAR CONSTRUCTIONBreakers and auxiliary devices can be accom-Section 11-5Figure 1-4 Available Unit CombinationsNote:(1)Blank Unit (above 3000A outdoor, 3500A & 4000A breakers)—device mounting space in door.
Woodward UG8
