Wang thanked Chen repeatedly and apologised for the inconvenience, even offering her 5,000 yuan as a reward. To his surprise, however, Chen refused, believing that it would be wrong to accept money that she had not earned. But what is even more surprising, perhaps, is that Chen’s daughter, 16-year-old Liu Xia is currently seriously ill.
