一高考考点分析:
纵观英语高考,近几年的全国二卷的作文部分,仍然以应用文为主,书信占多数。
书信,通常主要考察学生对书信格式的掌握,以及学生对于英语这门语言的词和句的应用.其中,申请信,建议信,邀请信,道歉信等应用文写作对于学生而言,都是熟悉的话题,所以是高考的热点。
二学情分析:
这节课How to write a letter of applicant,是专门为高二理科实验班学生设计。
他们对于书信的格式有所掌握,英语知识也有了一定的储备量。
但在平时的考试、作业中,写作部分所反应出来的问题还是很多。
具体体现在:1 书信格式不规范,漏写署名等.2 对于申请信这个写作任务,平时练习的并不多。
预测,学生对于申请信框架不是很了解。
3 最为普遍的问题就是,在写书信第二段时,学生通常表现出没话可说的现象。
针对以上问题,我设计了本节课。
三教学目标:
1 如何写申请信
2 掌握申请信的内容框架。
3 培养学生写作兴趣,让他们不再怕写作。
四教学重难点:
1 把握申请信合适的语言
2 清晰阐明个人经历和原因来说服读者同意你的申请
五教学策略:
通过对两篇文章的观察,了解申请信的框架结构,并让小组作总结归纳。
将一篇申请信范文打乱,让学生小组合作,重新整合起来,再最后写作训练。
六:教学方法:观察法,归纳法,小组探究法。
七:教学准备:粉笔,PPT,黑板
教学步骤
步骤一:导入话题
任务1:分享两篇典型的申请信范文,让学生阅读并观察,最后根据文章回答3个问题。
T:Good morning,boys and girls.(问好)
Ss: Good morning, Mrs Guo.
T: This class, we are going to learn how to write a letter of application. First of all, let’s read two sample letters and then answer my questions.
问题一:What does each writer apply for?
Where can we find the information?
Answer: The first writer applies for admission into a university as an
undergraduate and the second one a part-time job as a waiter.
We can find the information in Para.1 of each letter.
问题二:If you were the receiver,would you like to consider his /her application? Why?
Answer:Yes, because their experiences and reasons assured me that they are qualified for the job.
问题三:What does the writer mention at the end of the lesson? Answer: Thanks/ gratitude to the reader for reading the letter and the expectation for reply.
任务2 运用多媒体课件呈现出3个典型句子让学生找出文章对应的高级句子来替换句子。
并让学生对比信中的这些句子和黑板上的句子,喜欢哪些?
1 I'm writing to apply for the chance to study in your school.
I am writing for the purpose of applying for admission into your esteemed(尊重的) university.
2 I hope you can consider me.
I greatly appreciate any of your favourable consideration of my application.
3 Thank you for offering me the chance.
Words fail me when I try to express my heartfelt(真诚的) gratitude(感激) to the opportunity you offer.
(设计意图:让学生观察并体会申请信的语言正式委婉。
)
再运用四格法带学生一起总结归纳申请信的框架结构。
(设计意图:通过学生观察两篇范文,并回答问题,最后运用四格法总结归纳申请信的框架结构。
让学生更加立体感知申请信框架结构,使得知识记忆会更加牢固。
)
步骤二:为被打乱的申请信排序。
(a) Wang Xiaodan.
(b) I greatly appreciate any of your favourable consideration of my application.
(c) During the past three years of studies, I have not only ranked top in class academically,but also gained some actual part-time experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
(d) Therefore, I promise to do my humble bit for the progress and prosperity of your school if I have the honor to be accepted.
(e) I'm writing in response to the advertisement in Los angeles Times for a teaching assistant post in your school.I'm Wang Xiaodan, 18 years old, and will graduate from Beijing University in June.

(j) My dream job in the future is to teach Chinese as a foreign language.
设计意图:以排序的方式操练,巩固,确保学生掌握了申请信格式。
真正掌握的话,这部分并不费时,还训练了学生对于申请信的行文逻辑的把握。
步骤三:实战演练:写作:
假设你是李华,你从报上得知B&B公司暑假招聘一名兼职英文秘书,你很感兴趣,写一封信求职。
T:1 What will be mentioned (提到) in your letter to assure(使某人确信) the reader that you are qualified for the job.
2 What are the phrases we possibly use?
学生会想到,文章中我们应该写到:
英语水平高
人际交往能力好
精通电脑知识
小组合作:共同探讨信中写什么内容来让读者考虑你?
(设计意图:通过让学生小组合作,一起探讨都应该写哪些要点,目的是想打开学生脑洞,降低他们在接下来的写作任务中有话可写,从而降低他们的写作难度。
)
