(一)The other day I was travelling to San Antonio by train to visit my sister. The train was a little crowded and there was a young man sitting next to the window. Since it was a hot day, I wanted that window seat more than anything else at that time As a young lady, I thought the young man would give me the seat if I asked him. So I smiled at him and asked whether he could give up his seat and take another one. To my surprise, he said that he needed that seat and refused my request. I had no choice but to take the seat next to him.The train was crossing station after station .The weather was so hot that the scenery(风景) outside the window could not attract my interest I had nothing to do, so I started to focus my attention on the young man and stare at him up and down. He wore a blue shirt and there was a shawl(披巾) on his legs. He did not even rise from his seat once, which made me feel a little bit strange. Moreover, only a madman would use a shawl in such hot weather, I thought. After the five-hour long journey, the train arrived at the final stop. I picked up my bag and stood up, waiting for the door to open. I gave aneglectful (不经意的) look at the young man and asked, “The train has arrived at the final station. Are you not getting off?" Hearing my words, he began to smile at me and said in a calm voice, "Someone has to come for me and take me off the train because I can’t do it by myself. "I gave my full attention to his legs, only to find there was nothing under that shawl!Paragraph 1:The man was a disabled person.______________________________ ___________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________ paragraph 2After hearing his story, I could not meet his eyes any more.______________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________参考答案:Paragraph1:The man was a disabled person. Seeing the surprised expression on my face, the young man explained, “I lost both of my legs in a car accident three years ago. I' m a medical student and went to pay a visit to my parents and now I am returning to school. One of my classmates will come to pick me up.Paragraph 2After hearing his story, I could not meet his eyes anymore! I wished I could disappear in front of him at that moment. I didn't get off the train until his classmate walked to his seat and picked him up. How could I have such a strange idea about a person without knowing him? I realized it's always necessary to understand the truth behind someone’s words or actions. I have given up my wrong opinions about others without thinking since then.(二)Rain is pouring down today, which brings back sweet memories of our dog, Bambi. She joined our family at the age of four months. Like all puppies, she was full of energy and wonder. Our boys described excitedly that she looked just like the young deer, Bambi, in the movie they had watched recently. The name fitted her personality perfectly.Bambi also had all the fine physical characteristics of the German Shepherd. She was strong, yet gentle and shy. We were a young family with two growing, energetic boys, so she fitted right in with our lifestyle. Bambi loved the boys. She would play with them until they were completely tired .When Bambi was almost two years old, a full-grown dog, she became quite protective of us. She never failed to watch the boys. If any stranger entered our yard, she d watch him or her with sharp eyes and let out a lowbark. Even though Bambi had this protective instinct(本能), she never hurt anyone. Nevertheless, she did manage to frighten(惊吓) away many welcome and unwelcome guests. On one occasion, I had called a repairman to come to our home to fix the refrigerator. I was at work, and the boys were home with the babysitter I told the repairman by phone that we had a dog, but it would be safe to enter the house because the babysitter would be there to meet him. As long as the man attempted to move, Bambi would jump up and bark more fiercely(凶猛地)。

1Oh my goodness, the 2020 high school entrance exam English essay was so difficult! But I'm gonna give it my best shot and write a follow-up story for it.So, after the high school entrance exam, I met up with my friends at the park to celebrate the end of the exam. We were all so relieved that it was finally over and we could relax for a bit.We decided to have a picnic and enjoy the beautiful weather. We brought sandwiches, fruit, and juice to share with each other. We laughed and talked about how we thought we did on the exam. Then, out of nowhere, a group of birds flew down and stole our food! We were shocked and started chasing after them, trying to get our snacks back. It was like a scene from a movie, with us running around and shouting at the birds. After a few minutes of chaos, we finally managed to retrieve our food and sat back down to finish our picnic. We couldn't stop laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation. As the sun began to set, we all lay down on the grass, looking up at the sky. We talked about our hopes and dreams for the future and promised to stay friends no matter what high school we ended up in.It was a perfect end to a stressful day, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate with my friends. I know that no matter what happens, we'll always have each other's backs. And who knows, maybe those cheeky birds were just trying to teach us a lesson about sharing and teamwork.篇2Oh wow, high school entrance exam in 2020! That's like, sooooo important and stuff. So basically, after the exam, we were all like super relieved and happy, right? But then we had to wait for the results to come out, which was like the worst part ever.I remember when the results finally came out, and we were all like freaking out and stuff. Some of my friends did really well and got into their dream schools, while others were a bitdisappointed. But you know what? It's all good because we're all in this together, right? We'll support each other no matter what.So after we got our results, we had to start thinking about our future and stuff. Like, what do we wanna do with our lives? It's like such a big decision to make at such a young age, but we'll figure it out eventually. We have our whole lives ahead of us!And you know what's really cool? No matter what happens, we'll always have each other. We'll always be there to cheer each other on, to pick each other up when we're feeling down, and to celebrate all the amazing things we'll do in the future. So yeah, high school entrance exam in 2020 was a big deal, but we're ready for whatever comes next. Bring it on, world! We're gonna rock it!篇3Oh wow, the 2020 Gaokao English exam was so intense! The reading comprehension part was super hard, but I did my best to answer all the questions. After the exam, I felt so relieved and proud of myself for finishing it.After the exam, I went home and relaxed for a bit. Then I decided to start writing the continuation of the English essay question from the Gaokao. The topic was about the importance of learning a second language, so here is my response:Learning a second language is so important because it can open up so many opportunities for us. When we can speak another language, we can communicate with people from different countries and cultures. This can help us make new friends and learn about different ways of life.In addition, knowing a second language can also help us in our future careers. Many companies are looking for employees who can speak more than one language because they can work with clients and partners from around the world. This can give us a competitive edge in the job market.Overall, learning a second language is not just about studying words and grammar. It's about expanding our horizons, connecting with others, and preparing for a bright future. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn English, and I will continue to work hard to improve my language skills. I can't wait to see where this journey will take me!篇4Oh my goodness! I can't believe I'm finally done with the 2020 Gaokao English exam! It was so nerve-wracking but I think I did pretty well. Now I can relax and share with you guys what I wrote for the last part of the exam - the essay prompt "2020 Gaokao English Exam Reading Comprehension Follow-up."In the reading comprehension section, we had a passage about the importance of learning a second language and how it can benefit you in your future career and personal life. The follow-up essay prompt asked us to share our thoughts on the topic and discuss our own experiences with learning a second language.I started off by talking about how learning English has opened up so many opportunities for me. I mentioned how it helped me connect with people from different countries, understand foreign movies and songs, and even improve my grades in school. I also shared a funny story about how I once confused "embarrassed" with "embarrassing" and ended up saying something totally embarrassing in front of my English teacher!Next, I discussed the challenges of learning a second language, like struggling with pronunciation and grammar rules. But I emphasized that with hard work and dedication, anyone can become fluent in a foreign language. In the conclusion, I talked about how learning a second language is not just about memorizing vocabulary and grammar, but also about embracing a new culture and way of thinking. I encouraged everyone to step out of their comfort zone and start learning a new language today.Overall, I had a lot of fun writing this essay and reflecting on my own language learning journey. I can't wait to see how well I did on the exam and I'm excited to continue improving my English skills in the future!篇5Oh, hi everyone! So, I recently read this really cool essay about the 2020 high school English exam and I thought I could totally write a follow-up to it. The essay was all about how the exam was really tough but also kind of fun at the same time. So, here's my take on it:So, after the students finished the exam, they all felt a mix of relief and nervousness. They were relieved that it was finally over, but also nervous about how they did. Some students were confident that they did well, while others weren't so sure.As they waited for the results, they kept replaying the exam in their heads. They remembered the tough reading passages, the tricky grammar questions, and the challenging essay topic. But they also remembered the moments when they felt like they knew the answer or when they surprised themselves with their writing skills. Finally, the day of the results arrived. Some students were over the moon when they saw their scores, while others were disappointed. But no matter what the result was, they all knew that they had worked hard and tried their best.In the end, the students realized that the exam was just one part of their high school experience. It was a challenge, for sure, but it also taught them a lot about perseverance, resilience, and the power of determination. And that's my follow-up to the 2020 high school English exam essay. I hope you liked it! Let me know what you think in the comments below. Bye for now!篇6Oh my gosh! I can't believe I just finished my 2020 Gaokao English exam! It was so intense, but I think I did pretty well. Now,it's time to write the continuation of the English essay. Here we go!After the Gaokao English exam, I felt a mix of emotions - relief, excitement, and a little bit of anxiety. I couldn't wait to find out my results, but I also couldn't help but worry if I had answered all the questions correctly. The exam was definitely challenging, but I tried my best to stay calm and focused throughout the entire test.As I walked out of the exam hall, I saw my friends waiting for me. We high-fived each other and talked about how we thought we did on the exam. Some of us felt confident, while others were a bit unsure. But we all agreed that we gave it our best shot, and that's all that mattered. In the days leading up to the release of the exam results, I couldn't help but think about all the hard work and preparation I had put into studying for the Gaokao. I spent countless hours poring over English textbooks, practicing writing essays, and memorizing vocabulary words. And now, it was finally time to see if all that hard work had paid off. When the results finally came out, I felt a mix of nerves and excitement. I scanned the list of names, looking for mine, and when I finally found it, I couldn't believe my eyes. I had done it! Ihad achieved a great score on the Gaokao English exam! I jumped for joy and hugged my friends, feeling grateful and proud of all the effort I had put in.Overall, the Gaokao English exam was a challenging but rewarding experience. It pushed me to work harder and strive for excellence, and in the end, it paid off. I feel confident in my abilities and excited for what the future holds. Bring it on, world - I'm ready for whatever comes my way!。

My teenage son, Jordan, always complained about having to be home earlier than all his friends. He would tell me that he was already seventeen, but still had a curfew (宵禁),He believed he was practically an adult. I pointed out that he was not an adult as he was still in high school.“You don't trust me!” he yelled. Before I continued, he rolled his eyes, slammed the door and walked away. I sighed. How could I make Jordan see that I only wanted to keep him safe?I decided to go for a walk, hoping the December air would clear my head. I opened the front door and nearly stepped on her: a small black cat, just like a meatball. “Hi, Meatball," I said, bringing her int o my arms. I walked back in, touching her neck gently. Meatball seemed happy enough to come in the house, but after an hour or two, she sat by the door, meowing to go back outside.“Why won't she just stay in with us all the time?” Nathan, my youngest son asked.I explained to him that she was happy here but she liked being able to come and go as she pleased.“That must be nice,” Jordan muttered from the other room, complaining why the cat, not him, could come and go. He even asked me to give Meatball a curfew.Meatball became a regular. One night, temperatures were unusually low. Meatball stood at the door, meowing to go outside.I shook my head at her, afraid that she might freeze to death. She stared at me and meowed again. I patted her head, “I know you're not happy, but it's for your own good.”“Mom's not being mean to you,” Nathan told the cat. “She's just trying to keep you from turning into a frozen meatball.”We both laughed at his joke. The next morning, I couldn't find Meatball. I asked the kids if anyone had seen her.

But it was really difficult for us in such a dark situation. Just as we were at the point of desperation, we heard a faint voice from the distance. “It must be Uncle Paul ,”I said. So we cried back with excitement. Finally, Uncle Paul safely brought us back home. What an amazing ride!
