The Little Horse Crosses the River
A little horse lives in a farm with his mother. His mother takes good care of him. But he knows nothing about the outside world.
As time goes on, the little horse grows up. He wants to go outside of the farm.
One day, his mother needs to carry a bag to Uncle Pig’s mill. The little horse is exited.
“Mom! I am tall enough to help you. Let me carry the bag for you!”
“OK, take this bag to your Uncle Pig. He lives on the other side of the river.”
“Sure! I will get back soon. Bye!”
The little horse leaves the farm. He walks along the road happily.
When he arrives at the river bank…
“Uh oh…”
“Little horse, where are you going?”
“Aunt Cow, I have to go across the river? Is it deep?”
“No. Just go across the river. I just came back from the other side. The water only reaches my legs.”Suddenly, a squirrel jumps out.
“Stop! Stop! Don’t listen to her. The river is very deep. My friend almost died when she went across the river.”
“What are you talking about? The river is not deep at all. Just go, little horse.”
“No! You will kill him. How bad you are!”
“I’d better go back and ask my mom.”
The little horse tells the story to his mother.
“What should I do, Mom?”
“Let’s go to the river now.”
They arrive at the river soon.
“My dear, both Aunt Cow and the squirrel are right from their own point of view. You should think everything over by yourself. Now, try it.”
“I see. I am going to try it myself.”
“Mom! It is not difficult at all!”。
