高三英语职场生活阅读理解30题1<背景文章>In today's fast-paced business world, teamwork in the workplace is of utmost importance. A successful team can achieve great things and drive a company forward. However, teamwork is not always easy and comes with its own set of challenges.Teamwork is essential because it brings together different skills and perspectives. When people from diverse backgrounds work together, they can offer unique insights and solutions. For example, in a marketing team, a graphic designer might have a different way of looking at a problem than a copywriter. By working together, they can create a more effective marketing campaign. One of the challenges of teamwork is communication. Miscommunication can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. It is important for team members to be clear and concise in their communication and to listen actively to others. Another challenge is dealing with different personalities. Some people are more assertive while others are more reserved. Team members need to learn how to work with different personalities and find a way to collaborate effectively.Despite the challenges, there are many successful examples ofteamwork. One such example is the development of the iPhone. The iPhone was a result of the collaboration of thousands of people from different departments within Apple. From engineers to designers to marketers, everyone worked together to create a revolutionary product. In conclusion, teamwork is crucial in the workplace. It can lead to success but also comes with challenges. By understanding the importance of teamwork and learning how to overcome the challenges, teams can achieve great things.1. Teamwork is important because it brings together ________.A. similar skills and perspectivesB. different skills and perspectivesC. the same personality typesD. only engineers and designers答案:B。

His first post explored the use of English font (字体) on Hong Kong's road signs. “That post surprisingly received many likes and shares, so it got me thinking abo ut expanding my audience,” he recalled. In 2016, the enthusiast collected 50 Chinese characters from Hong Kong's road signs and outlined and uploaded the image to his Facebook account. A friend suggested turning this collection into a font. Yau saw it as a means to preserve a cherished aspect of Hong Kong's history. About twenty years ago, many of the city's signs featured handcrafted characters made by prisoners. However, as design technology adsances, these tradi tional signs are gradually being replaced,Following. yisits the remaining traditional road signs in the city, Yau's team had outliried approximatel y 500 characters. Yet, this fell short of the 7,000 Chinese characters required for practical use by those who us e Chinese daily. Faced with this limitation, the team began ercating new characters by mixing and matching existing components, adjusting line thickness, and modifying radicals (部首). For instance, when they couldn' t locate the Chinese character for“prison” on any existing signs, they designed one from scratch. This process英语测试题第2页 (共10页)involved extensive trial and error. After six years of dedicated effort, Yau found motivation in the constant enthusiasm of his follower s. “They’ ve been cagerly anticipating this project for as long as l' ve been working on it,” he remarked. “O ne even expressed that he had been waiting for this font since his first year of secondary school. Now, as a sixth grader, his wait is finally over.Yau is thrilled to witness how his followers will use this digital font.“I cannot own a road sign. but what I can do is digitize it,” Yau said. “I did not want to just document it but develop it into something we can use in daily life. This is a way to preserve Hong Kong's visual cultural memory.”4. What inspired Yau to design a font?A. His interest in road signs.B. His popularity with his fans.C. His desire to restore history.D. His passion for city planning.5. Why did Yau's team create new characters?A. To combine the components.B. To meet the need of daily use.C. To set limitation to the characters.D. Ambitious and competitive.CThe field of anti-ageing medicine has exploded in recent years due to discoveries about the fundamen tal biology of ageing which are translated into experimental therapies (疗法). The latest fountain of youth to pour from the lab comes in the form of vaccines (疫苗) against age-related conditions—— cancer, heart dise ase, dementia and more. The first of these could be available by the end of the decade. All-purpose anti-agei ng injections are also in development. The upsides of such vaccines are clear. Anything that limits the impact of age-related conditions on people who live into old age— not to mention on the loved ones who often end up caring for them— has to be welcomed. They also promise to lessen effect on the increasingly societal and economic costs of these dis eases.英语测试题第3页 (共10页)But as with all anti-ageing interventions, there are potential downsides too. If millions of people livesignificantly longer, we risk a population explosion on a planet whose resources are already overstretched. If t he vaccines merely delay the beginning of age-related conditions, they will only postpone the burden on peopl e and society. And as Nobcl prizewinner Venki Ramakrishnan told us carlier this year. a long-lived society islikely to be an unmoving one. These are familiar fears. The common answer is that the goal is increased healt hspan. That means people living for longer. free from the diseases of old age, then suddenly declining anddying. We wońt know the-outcome until : the therapies have been widely used, at which point it will be too late to put the genie back in the bottle. But there is really no turning back anyway. If vaccines and other anti-ageing therapies work and are affordable, they will be used. Besides, nɔbody would argue that innovation s like antibiotics, vaccines and advanced diagnostics were a bad idea even though they marked the beginning of our era of age-related diseases. Similarly, we shouldn't fear life-saving medical advances on the basis of un intended consequences. If we can make lives longer and less painful, the downsides are a price worth paying.8. Why is the field of anti-ageing medicine growing rapidly?A. The biology of ageing is better applied.B. The trend of healthy lifestyle is rising.C. The demand for longer life is increasing.D. The number of elderly is rising globally.9. How do anti-ageing vaccines benefit society?A. By increasing the workforce.B. By curing people of diseases.C. By boosting economic growth.D. By reducing healthcare expense.10. What does the underlined phrase“put the genie back in the bottle” mean?A. To stop the process of ageing.B. To erase the impact of the therapics.C. To create a new medical breakthrough.D. To delay the development of technology.11. What is the best title for this article?A. Can Anti-Ageing Medicine Really Work?B. What Is the Risk of Anti-Ageing Medicine?C. How to Stay Young with Anti-Ageing Medicine?D. Is It Worthwhile Using Anti-Ageing Medicine?英语测试题第4页 (共10页)DFranz Katka (卡夫卡) died 100 years ago with his literary works unnoticed. He had instructed his friend Max Brod to burn his unpublished works. Brod did not: he believed Kafka to be a literary genius and publishe d his late friend's writing. In other words, Brod decided that Kafka's stories belonged not to the late author, but to the public.Brod's dilemma echoes today. People generate' more data than ever, which, unlike physical bodies, does not disappear. According to Carl Ohman, a Swedish political scientist. this condition makes the modern world“post-mortal”(死后的).“Living in the post-mortał condition is to constantly find oneself in the shoes of Max Brod", he observes. The digital era has reshaped humans’ relationship with the dead—— as seen in social media reminders for birthdays of dead individuals. Such reminders are to grow more common: Mr. Ohman's research has foun d that on Facebook the dead may well outnumber the living within 40 years. Advanced technology enables a continued relationship with the dead, such as Amazon's development of a feature for Alexa, virtual assistant, to speak in the voice of a lost relative. Startups have used data to make chatbots of the dead-to strengthen use rs’ commercial relationship, Mr. Ohman points out.At the root of Ohman's book The Aftorlife of Data is various complex philosophical questions. To whom do the dead's data belong? Are data something people create, or a digital analogue (类比) to a physical body? If data are a digital form of the body, what responsibilities does the living have? These are not merel y questions for individuals but for society. After all, historians often study the diaries of the dead. Their write rs may have preferred to keep them private, but the light that such documents can shine on humanity's past outweighs the late owner's wishes. Mr. Ohman: notes that data constitute“the biggest database of human behavioùr in the history of our species”. And he urges that the social media firms should think twice in terms of how they handle digital remains.12. What is the function of paragraph 1?A. To emphasize Kafka's literary talent.B. To lead to the discussion on data handling.C. To praise the act to publish Kafka's works.D. To write an introduction for Ohman's book.13. Why do people buy Alexa, the virtual assistant?A. To create a digital database.B. To control devices by voice.C. To access information quickly.D. To communicate with the dead.14. What problem will people face in post-mortal world according to the passage?A. How to manage the dead's data.B. How to realize the dead's wishes.C. How to protect the dead's privacy.D. How to restore the dead's. belongings.15. Which of the following will Mr. Ohman probably agree with?A. Data should be in the possession of individuals.B. Historians should control access to digital remains.C. Data's historical value is more important than the dead's will.D. Social media firms should be fined for misuse of digital remains.

Silence is a resource, it said.Silence first appeared in scientific research as a control or baseline, against which scientists compare the effects of noise or music.Researchers have mainly studied it by accident,as physician Luciano Bernardi did in his study of the physiological(生理学)effects of music. We didn t think about the effect of silence, he said.Bernardi observed two dozen test subjects while they listened to six musical tracks. He found that the impacts of music could be read directly in the bloodstream, via changes in blood pressure, carbon dioxide, and circulation in the brain. During almost all sorts of music, there was a physiological change with a condition of arousal (兴奋), he explained. This effect made sense, given that active listening requires attention. But the more striking finding appeared between musical tracks.Bernardi and his colleagues discovered that randomly added stretches of silence also had a great effect, but in the opposite direction. In fact,two-minute silent pauses proved far more relaxing than either relaxing music or a longer silence played before the experiment started. The blank pauses that Bernardi had considered irrelevant,in other words, became the most interesting object of study.Silence seemed to be heightened by contrasts, maybe because it gave test subjects a release from careful attention. Perhaps the arousal is something that concentrates the mind in one direction,so that when there is nothing more arousing, then you have deeper relaxation, he said. This finding is reinforced by neurological(神经系统的)research.Relevant research shows when our brains rest quietly, they integrate external and internal information into a conscious (意识的)workspace. Freedom from noise and goal-directed tasks,it appears, unites the quiet without and within, allowing our conscious workspace to do its thing to discover where we fit in. Noora Vikman,a consultant on silence for Finland s marketers, knows silence well.Living in a remote and quiet place in Finland, she discovers thoughts and feelings that aren t detectable in her busy daily life. If you want to know yourself, you have to be with yourself, and discuss with yourself, and be able to talk with yourself.27.Why does the author mention the Country Brand Report in Paragraph1?A.To present how Finland viewed silence.B.To highlight the need of noise in Finland.C.To explain why Finland issued the brands.D.To indicate the authority of the Delegation.28.What can be inferred about Luciano Bernardi s discovery?A.It challenged the calming effect of music.B.It emphasized the role of silence between sounds.C.It illustrated the loss of attentiveness after silence.D.It stated brains information processing in the quiet.29.As for Noora Vikman s attitude to silence, the author is.A.doubtfulB.supportiveC.disapprovingD.unconcerned30.Which would be the best title for the passage?A.Silence:A Limited ResourceB.Silence:A Misunderstood ToolC.Silence:The Unexpected PowerD.Silence:The Value by ContrastsDA few years ago,the City Council of Monza,Italy, barred petowners from keeping goldfish in curved fishbowls. The sponsors of themeasure explained that it is cruel to keep a fish in such a bowlbecause the curved sides give the fish a distorted view of reality.Aside from the measure s significance to the poor goldfish, the storyraises an interesting philosophical question:How do we know that the reality we perceive is true? Physicists are finding themselves in a similar trouble to the goldfish s.For decades they have been pursuing an ultimate theory of everything one complete and consistent set of fundamental laws of nature that explain every aspect of reality. It now appears that this pursuit may generate not a single theory but a family of interconnected theories, each describing its own version of reality, as if it viewed the universe through its own fishbowl. This concept may be difficult for many people to accept. Most people believe that there is an objective reality out there and that our senses and our science directly convey(传达)information about the material world. In philosophy, that beliefIn physics, realism is becoming difficult to defend.Instead, the idea of alternative realities is a mainstay of today s popular culture. For example,in the science-fiction film The Matrix the human race is unknowingly living in a simulated(模拟的)virtual reality created by intelligent computers. How do we know we are not just computer-generated characters living in a Matrix-like world? If like us the beings in the simulated world could not observe their universe from the outside, they would have no reason to doubt their own pictures of reality. Similarly, the goldfish s view is not the same as ours from outside their curved bowl. For instance, because light bends as it travels from air to water,a freely moving object that we would observe to move in a straight line would be observed by the goldfish to move along a curved path. The goldfish could form scientific laws from their frame(框架)of reference that would always hold true and that would enable them to make predictions about the future motion of objects outside the bowl.If the goldfish formed such a theory,we would have to admit the goldfish s view as a reasonable picture of reality. The goldfish example shows that the same physical situation can be modeled in different ways, each employing different fundamental elements and concepts. It might be that to describe the universe we have to employ different theories in different situations. It is not the physicist s traditional expectation for a theory of nature, nor does it correspond to our everyday idea of reality. But it might be the way of the universe.31.What does the underlined word distorted in Paragraph1most probably mean?A.Original.㊀㊀B.Accurate.㊀㊀C.Distant.㊀㊀D.False.32.What does Paragraph2mainly tell us?A.The need for a complete theory.B.The lasting conflict in physics.C.The existence of the material world.D.The conventional insight of reality.33.What can we learn from the passage?A.Nature s mysteries are best left undiscovered.B.An external world is independent of the observers.C.People s theories are influenced by their viewpoints.D.It is essential to figure out which picture of reality is better.34.According to the passage, the author may agree that.A.various interpretations of the universe are welcomedB.physicists have a favorite candidate for the final theoryC.multiple realities can be pieced together to show the real world第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,共10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的七个选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑㊂选项中有两项为多余选项㊂An apology can achieve great things for both the givers and the receivers although nobody likes to admit that they were wrong. An apology is crucial to our physical health. When we acknowledge that we are wrongdoers and express our guilt to others,we will free ourselves from the uncomfortable state. This act feels like a weight on us has been lifted.㊀35㊀Research showed that heart rate, sweat levels and facial tension decreased in victims of wrongs even when they simply imagined receiving an apology.Apologizing affects us not just physically, but also mentally.㊀36㊀When presented with an apology, the victims may view us as imperfect human beings and find it easier to give forgiveness. In a powerful piece in Psychology Today, writer Beverly Engel described how a simple I m sorry from her mother, after being estranged from each other for three years, made her relieved emotionally. But let s be real, apologizing can be difficult.㊀37㊀We should recognize our action did hurt someone even if our intention may not have been so.Instead of making excuses for what we did,try to bear responsibility and offer a promise to take action so that we will not repeat the behavior in future.㊀38㊀Of course, the most effective apologies often bring a cost to our dignity, since we have to admit that we are wrong in front of others or many people.㊀39㊀As is known,it is one of the most positive actions we can take when we do something wrong for ourselves, the others, and the relationship. So,go ahead, apologize a little more often for the things worth apologizing for.A.There are agreed-upon ways to express our apology to others.B.It s a way of showing the price we paid for the wronged action.C.A good apology affects the health of those on the receiving end,too.D.But this can often be minor compared to the benefits of a proper apology.E.This means we should take the blame and not try to justify it or explain it away.F.Apologize for what you did rather than what other people might have thought about it.G.It has the ability to disarm others of their anger and to prevent further misunderstandings.第三部分㊀书面表达(共两节,32分)第一节(共4小题;第40㊁41题各2分,第42题3分,第43题5分,共12分)阅读下面短文,根据题目要求用英文回答问题㊂请在答题卡指定区域作答㊂Building relationships and working successfully with different cultural backgrounds can seem like a major challenge. But you can enjoy the rewards, while keeping dissatisfaction to aminimum. The key to making them work is cultural competence.Essentially, cultural competence is defined as the ability to understand and interact effectively with people from different cultures. The opportunity to see whales and dolphins swimming in their natural habitat is so much better than seeing these great mammals in zoos and aquariums. As your boat edgesout into the blue water, a group of dolphins come to greet you and swim around the boat, jumping playfully around you. In some places, tour companies even encourage tourists to go swimming with the dolphins. These intelligent mammals seem to enjoy our company and interact with us. But is it possible that this kind of human activity putting their survival at risk?A recent study has shown that the behavior of whales and dolphins changes greatly when they are close to boats. Interpreting the boats as a possible danger, they start to breathe more to breathe more quickly. The boats drive them away from the places where they feed and interrupt their routine of resting and taking care of their young. All of these factors could have a very negative effect on their general health. Another factor that should be taken into account is the effect of human attention on the animals. As they become more used to interacting with humans, they become less afraid of them. There have been several cases of tour boats running into dolphins or whales and causing their deaths. As dolphins live within close communities, events like these cause a lot of stress.Perhaps the best way to protect these animals is to reduce our interaction with them. This we could do by keeping a minimum distance between the animals and the boats, and by limiting the number of boats out on the water at one time. Most importantly, instead of interrupting these animals’ routines, we should try to adapt to them. In this way, we could learn to exist in harmony with these wild animals and ensure our continued co-existence on the planet that we shall share.28. Why are Eco-wildlife tours increasingly popular?A. Because they are widely advertised.B. Because tourists can visit wild animals in nature.C. Because wild animals enjoy our company.D. Because visitors do not disturb wild animals.29. The visiting boats excite whales and dolphins.B. Boats drive young whales and dolphins away from their parents.C. Human’s attention benefits whales and dolphins a lot.D. Getting too close to wild animals may cause trouble to them.31. What is suggested to stay in harmony with wild animals according to the text?A. Making less interaction with them.B. Keeping a minimum distance between boats.C. Banning boats entering their habitat.D. Making them adapt to our daily routine.DChengdu, the capital of Southwest China’s Sichuan province, is promoting innovation in the new economy to create a powerhouse for regional economic development. The city’s recent move to open up registration for companies as part of the first of innovation-application experimental labs and future scene labs is an important part of its efforts to promote innovation. team work英语作文短语Team work is essential in any organization or project to achieve success. It involves a group of individuals working together to achieve a common goal. In this article, we will explore the importance of team work and some key phrases related to team work. One of the key benefits of team work is the shared responsibility and accountability among team members. When individuals work together towards a common goal, they are able to pool their resources, skills, and knowledge to achieve greater results than they would on their own. In a team, each member has a specific role to play and contributes to the overall success of the project.Effective communication is also crucial in team work. Team members need to communicate openly and honestly with each other to share ideas, provide feedback, and address any conflicts that may arise. Good communication helps to build trust and cohesion among team members, leading to a more productive and efficient work environment.Another important aspect of team work is collaboration. Team members must be willing to work together, support eachother, and take collective responsibility for the success of the team. Collaboration requires compromise, flexibility, and a willingness to listen to others' opinions and ideas. Now let's take a look at some key phrases related to team work:- "Team player": Someone who works well with others, is cooperative, and contributes positively to the team.- "Collaboration": Working together with others to achieve a common goal.- "Respect": Showing consideration and esteem for the opinions, feelings, and contributions of others.- "Communication": The act of conveying information, ideas, or feedback to others in a clear and effective manner.- "Leadership": The ability to guide, motivate, and inspire a team towards achieving its goals.- "Trust": Having faith and confidence in the abilities and intentions of other team members.- "Conflict resolution": The process of addressing and resolving disagreements or disputes within a team.In conclusion, team work is a vital component of any successful organization or project.
