Oil block including water transducerSeparatorS and P Flex separation systemsAlfa Laval’s S and P Flex separation systems com b ine the high efficiency, low sludge output and low operating cost of Alfa Laval centrifugal separators with a flexible scope of supply. Extensive possibilities for the separation system layout and assembly make it possible to suit any engine room and any oil separation application. In addition, S and P Flex separation systems feature the EPC 60 controller, which enables the i ntuitive navigation of menus, parameters and alarms. The EPC 60 controller also has a modular construction for easy I/O board addition and replacement. The S and P Flex separation concept includes the complete S- and P-separator range. These can be combined in mixed ship sets, even within a single customer-specified module.Flex system components for S separators 921–987.* S separators can also be used to clean lighter fuel oils and lubricating oils.Application S separatorsS separators are based on Alcap technology, which means they automatically adjust the oil/water interphase based on the water content in the clean oil outlet. This makes them particularly suitable for separating heavy fuel oils with varying density, though they can be used to clean all of the following:• H eavy fuel oils with densities up to 1 010 kg/m 3 and viscosities up to 700 cSt/50°C (higher v iscosities available upon request)• L ubricating oils • Distillates• Lighter diesel oilsS separators are designed for automatic operation in periodically unmanned engine rooms at sea and in automated power stations ashore.Module examplesSingle Flex module with separator (excluding heater and pump)Single Flex module with separator, heater and pumpQuadruple Flex modulewith separators, heaters and pumpsDischarge slideCentriLockScope of supplyThe S and P Flex separation concept p rovides a wide range of alternatives for S separators. Depending on the need, a S separator can be supplied as a separator and ancillaries, as a customer-specified module, or as part of a comprehensive p ackage including services and order-specific documentation. These S separators come equipped with energy- efficient IE3 motors.Flex systemA S separator with ancillaries in the form of optimized block components provides full say over the use of space. This allows for local modularization or do-it-yourself assembly.Flex modulesA compact S separator module can be built to a customer-specified configuration from a wide range of modular skids and machine blocks. Multi-modules are possible, as well as mixed modules including one or more S separators and/or P-separators for the simultaneous treatment of different types of mineral oils. All Flex modules are factory tested to ensure faster start-up and commissioning.Features and benefits• Small footprint, high flexibilityThe small separator and the modular nature of the surrounding components allow easy installation and flexible positioning in the engine room.• Alcap technologyA water transducer in the clean oil outlet automatically adjusts the oil/water interphase to maximize separation performance.• High separation efficiencyAn optimized design ensures the best possible separation efficiency from the bowl and disc stack.• CentriShootThe CentriShoot discharge systemgreatly reduces sludge volumes. Its fixed discharge slide flexes gently to expose the discharge ports, thereby eliminating metal-to-metal wear.• CentriLockThe CentriLock bowl-locking system uses a lightweight, non-threaded snap ring. This prevents wear by allowing easy removal without a sledgehammer.• Long service intervalsWear-preventing features like CentriShoot and CentriLock reduce the consumption of spare parts and allow plannedmaintenance to be performed less often. This reduces operating costs.• Easy operation and service T he PLC based EPC 60 controller is designed for “one-button” starts and stops, as well as intuitive menu navi-gation. Information about parameters and alarms can be easily accessed, which simplifies both operation and troubleshooting. The EPC 60 also has a modular construction that enables faster troubleshooting and I/O board replacement.• Remote control and monitoring Using Ethernet or Bus communica-tion, Flex systems and modules based on S separators 921–987 canbe operated and supervised remotely from the c ontrol room. A variety of alarm functions are available as standard, and extra I/O boards can be added to the EPC 60 controller in order to enhance its operating and monitoring capabilities.Optional equipmentFlex separation systems based on S separators 921–987 can be complemented with the following equipment:• Starter (included in module versions)• HEATPAC heaters• Space heating• Additional thermometers• Vibration sensor kit• ALP feed pump• Flow regulating system• Sludge removal kit• Sludge outlet butterfly valve kit• Steam shut-off valve kit• Air pressure reducer valve• P ipe arrangement for multiple modules, including heater cross-connection• Emergency safety shutdown• Remote monitoring and control•Separator lifting tool1 Feed pump2 Heater3 Temperature transmitter4 Safety valve5 Change-over valve6 Process controller7 Pressure transmitter – oil8 Complete regulating valve9 Regulating valve – oil10 Pneumatic shut-off valve11 Valve block water12 Separator13 Pressure transmitter – water14 Drain valve15 Sludge removal kit16 Regulating valveSchematic diagram ALP feed pump HEATPAC CBM heaterHEATPAC EHM heaterOperating principleA Flex separation system based on an S separator 921–987 is operated automatically by the EPC 60 c ontroller. Untreated oil, heated to the correct temperature, is fed continuously to the separator, which is driven by an electric motor via a friction clutch and belt. The separator bowl is fixed at the top of a spindle, which is supported by bearings and special composite springs. During operation, separated sludge and water accumulate at the bowl periphery and are intermittently discharged by the high-precision CentriShoot discharge system. The separator’s operation is based on the Alcap principle, which means the separator automatically adjusts to the nature of the oil. No gravity disc is needed. A water transducer in the clean oil outlet measures capacitative resistance and signals changes to the EPC 60 controller. Depending on the water content, the EPC 60 either opens the drain valve or expels the water through thebowl discharge ports during sludge discharge. A patented paring tube adapts itself to remove the water from the bowl while a paring disc pumps away the clean oil.During normal operation, vital process parameters are monitored. These parameters, as well as alarms, are indicated by easy-to-understand text messages on the LCD display of the EPC 60 controller. The EPC 60 controller provides many alarm functions, including alarms for low oil pressure, high sludge tank level (if the optional sludge removal kit is included) and power failure. Additional functions are available for a vibration alarm when the optional vibration sensor is fitted.System layoutLow-wear mechanical platformS separators 921–987 and P separators 626/636 are built on a low-wear mechanical platform thatfeatures CentriShoot and CentriLock. The CentriShoot discharge system, which greatly reduces sludgevolumes, has a fixed discharge slide that flexes gently to expose the discharge ports, thereby eliminating metal-to-metal wear. The CentriLock bowl-locking system uses a lightweight, non-threaded snap ring that prevents wear by allowing easy removal without a sledgehammer.untr1. Feed pump2. Heater3. Temperature transmitter4. Drain valveCentriShootInstead of a sliding bowl bottom, the CentriShoot discharge system features a fixed discharge slide that flexes at its edge. This increases discharge accuracy and does away with metal-to-metal wear.CentriLockConventional lock rings are threaded and must be removed with a sledgehammer. Over time, the metal-to-metal wear between bowl and lock ring can lead to expensive bowl repair or replacement.Instead of a conventional lock ring, the CentriLock bowl-locking system features a non-threaded snap ring. This lightweight ring snaps quickly into place and is easilyremoved with only an Allen key.Step one:The CentriShoot discharge slide is fixed at the centre. During separation, the slide covers the discharge ports. An Allen key is the only tool needed to work with CentriLock. No sledgehammer is necessary.Step two:During sludge discharge, the edge of the slide flexes downward, exposing the discharge ports. The CentriLock snap ring lifts out and snaps in easily – without any threads to wear.Step three:After discharge, the slide moves gently back into position to close the ports. This is done hydraulically, without any springs.EMD00233EN 1509Alfa Laval reserves the right to change specifications without prior notification. How to contact Alfa LavalUp-to-date Alfa Laval contact details for all countries are always available on our website at C e n t r i L o c k , C e n t r i S h o o t a n d H E A T P A C a r e t r a d e m a r k s o w n e d b y A l f a L a v a l C o r p o r a t e A B . INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSADCAMAT POP – PPO-14 – PPA-14 PRESSURE OPERATED PUMPSGENERAL• These instructions must be carefully read before any work involving products supplied by VALSTEAM ADCAENGINEERING S.A. is undertaken.• The installation procedure is a critical stage in a life of the equipment and care should be taken to avoiddamage to the equipment.• They give their maximum performance only when the equipment associated with them is correctly sized andinstalled in accordance with our recommendations.• The POP pumps are designed for condensate pumping, cold water and other group 2 fluids, without the use ofelectricity. They are specially recommended to return high temperature condensate back to boiler houses to save and conserve energy.• The ADCAmat automatic pumps can lift hot condensate, oils and other liquids as high as 60m (200ft) ordischarge against an equivalent total back pressure. The pump starts when there is something to pump and stops when there isn’t.• Liquid flows by gravity into the pump through an inlet check valve lifting a float which at the upper limit of itstravel opens the supply valve which allows steam or compressed air to enter the pump body. Pressure in the pump builds up until just sufficient to overcome back pressure. The pressurized liquid opens the outlet check valve and discharge commences. When the float reaches the minimum lower level, it closes the steam or compressed air supply valve and opens the vent allowing the liquid to fill the pump again, beginning other cycle.Note:• Current regional safety regulations should be taken in to account and followed, while doing the installation andmaintenance work.• Handling, installation and maintenance work must be carried out by trained personnel. A supervisor must followand check all activities.• For the problems that cannot be solve with the help of this instructions, please contact the supplier or themanufacturer.• The manufacturer reserves the right to change the design and material of this product without notice.• If necessary to perform hydrostatic test on the equipment/installation be aware of the limits according to thetable below. Serial number and other useful information is stamped on it.- During the assembly work, apply protective measures against dirt.- When connecting flanges, the bolts should be mounted from the counter flange side with the hexagon nuts from the valve side and it must exist a perfect match between the connection flanges.- Tighten flange connection bolts uniformly in a diagonal sequence.- Correct installation of the equipment is full responsibility of the contractor.TRANSPORT AND STORAGE- Handling and lifting of materials should be made with adequate equipments.- Do not damage the paint job. It protects against corrosion during transportation and storage.- The pumps and equipments should be protected from impacts and forces during transportation and storage.- The manufacturer doesn’t assume the responsibility of damaged equipments due to inappropriate handling during the transportation and storage. See figure below for correct position in transportation.Incorrect position Correct positionINSTALLATION- Account for over pressure conditions, according with the local laws or standards.- Pumps must not be used with other purpose than the one they were built for (e.g. climbing aids or as connecting points for lifting gear).- For the problems that cannot be solve with the help of this instructions, please contact the supplier or the manufacturer.- The pump operation is only guarantee if ADCA non-return valves are used. When installing and uninstalling these valves, care should be taken to prevent any position inversions during the installation (in those cases where the DN is the same), because they have different settings.- A strainer installation is highly recommended in the condensate feeding to the pump for non-return valves protection. The strainer shall be cleaned after the commissioning and then with some regularity. If this requirement is not accomplished, it can cause a feeding restriction into the pump, reducing significantly the pumping capacity.Installation area requirements:•The installation area should have easy access and provide enough space for maintenance and removing operations.•The installation area should have the necessary firing system to prevent damage of the equipment due to over temperature/pressure cause by fire.Procedure:•Prior to install check that the product is suitable for the intended application: materials and pressure/temperature ratings.•Before installing remove, plastic covers placed on flanges or connection ends. The equipment has an arrow or Inlet/Outlet designations. Be sure that it will be installed on the appropriate direction.•Take care with jointing material to ensure that none may be permitted to block or enter the equipment.•The pump must be handled carefully in order to avoid any mechanism damage.•The pump must be installed at the lower level of the equipment to be drained and the exhaust DN 1”connection pointing upwards.•For the correct installation and operation of the pump, Y strainer, isolating valves and steam trap must be provided. Please refer to Information Sheet IS 9.101 E. Special application information can be obtained by contacting the distributer or Valsteam SA directly.•Ensure that the unit is leveled for proper operation.•External stresses that may be induced by the system due to pipe expansion, etc, can affect this product. The necessary precautions are recommended during the systems design and equipment assembly.•The pipework should be properly supported and free from strain and it should not be subjected to undue surges of pressure. The start-up condition should be considered.START UP- Current regional safety regulations should be take in to account and followed.- Protective insulation and warning notice may be required.- Until the start up of an existing or a new plant, the following must be checked:- All works are completed.- The equipment is correctly installed.- All the necessary safety devices have been installed.- At start up, the presence of small particles in the motive fluid (dirt, scale, weld splatters, joint particles, remains of Teflon tape, etc) may cause anomalies. If this occurs, proceed to an accurate cleaning. Periodical checking:•24 hours after the start up, it is recommended to check pipe connections for leaks and retighten the connections if necessary.MAINTENANCE•We recommend the pumps to be serviced as necessary. Pumps should be checked periodically (at least yearly), to verify if they are operating correctly and to verify the wear of the internal parts specially the motive fluid admission and exhausting valves.•When reassembling make sure that all gasket faces are clean and always use a new gasket. Tighten cover bolts uniformly in a diagonal sequence.•Estimated lifetime under satisfactory working conditions: 5 years; after this period, we recommend the wall thickness examination using appropriated inspection equipment. Pour quality water or corrosive fluids will reduce this period.•Always apply the mentioned torques, see recommended tightening torques table when maintenance operations are carried out.•Maintenance should proceed as follows:1. Isolation valves should be closed, and the pressure and temperature must be atmospheric.2. Remove the type of connections used.3. Execute the maintenance work.4. Replace and tighten the connections. (Don’t forget to subst itute the gasket).5. Consider the start up conditions.TROUBLESHOOTING- If the malfunctions cannot be solved with the help of the following chart, please consult the manufacture.- Some of these faults may only occur in some models.TROUBLE SHOOTING CHARTFAULT POSSIBLE REASON SOLUTIONContinuasly leak through the exaust. (SEE APPROPRIATE MODULE LITERATURE FOR SET-UP ANDOTHER CONNECTIONS.)To remove module from the LDD, disconnect the display and power cables, then remove the carrier from the standoffs by disengaging the tabs andsimultaneously lifting the carrier. Repeat this until the module has cleared all 4standoffs.INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENTThe unit should be installed in a location that does not exceed the maximumoperating temperature and provides good air circulation. Placing the unit neardevices that generate excessive heat should be avoided. The LDD may be cleaned using alcohol compounds such as Isopropanol ormethanol. Also, liquid glass cleaners may be used if they do NOT containammonia.NOTE: MINIMAL EXPOSURE OF KETONE SOLVENTS TO THE LDD ISGOING TO CAUSE A WHITENING OF THE DISPLAY OVERLAY. Continuous exposure to direct sunlight may accelerate the aging process of the bezel. The LDD is intended to be mounted into an enclosed panel with a gasket toprovide a water-tight seal. A gasket and ten 10 to 32 kep nuts are provided foreasy installation. The recommended minimum panel thickness for NEMA4/IP65 applications is 0.125" (3.2 mm). Thinner panels may be used but maydistort and not provide a water-tight seal. For ease of installation, the cardboard template (supplied with the LDD)maybe used to mark the holes and cut-out locations on the panel. After the panelcut-out has been completed and deburred, insert the unit with the panel gasket, into the panel as depicted in the drawing (see figure 3). Install the ten kep nutsand tighten evenly for uniform gasket compression.By using additional hardware, the LDD can be surface-wall mounted, suspended, or bottom mounted. To surface-wall mount the unit, two sets ofMB6 brackets are required. To suspend or bottom mount the unit, one set ofMB6 brackets is required.1. TOTALIZER2. Digital Accuracy is accuracy of the digital value accessed by the Host system and the handheld communicator.2. Total analog accuracy is the sum of digital accuracy and output D/A Accuracy.3. Output D/A Accuracy is applicable to the 4 to 20 mA Signal output.4. For TC inputs, CJ accuracy shall be added to digital accuracy to calculate the total digital accuracy.5. These input types are not available on DE units.6. Custom Callendar-van Dusen is not available for Pt25 sensors.Differential Temperature MeasurementSmartLine Temperature supports differential temperature measurements between any two types of sensors. When the loop current mode is set to "Differential" then the input range is from A to B for sensor 1 & 2 whereA = Sensor 1 Minimum - Sensor 2 MaximumB = Sensor 1 Maximum - Sensor 2 MinimumCallendar - van Dusen Algorithm (CVD)The easy-to-use Callendar - van Dusen (CVD) algorithm allows the use of calibrated Platinum RTD sensors to increase the overall system accuracy. Simply enable the algorithm and then enter the four CVD coefficients supplied with the calibrated RTD sensor into the transmitter.Digital Accuracy for differential temperature measurementIf both the inputs are similar the digital accuracy equals 1.5 times the worst-case accuracy of either sensor type. For mixed input types, the digital accuracy is the sum of sensor 1 and sensor 2 digital accuracies.EMC Confirmity (CE, Marine and SIL)The STT850 device is compliant with IEC compliance EN 61326-1: 2013, EN IEC 61326-1: 2021 (CE) ; IEC 60533: 2015 / IACS Req. 1991/Rev.8 2021 (Marine) and IEC 61326-3-1: 2017 (SIL)Performance specifications under EMC conditions (CE and Marine):HART/DE Transmitter: Worst case deviation < 0.1% of full span (for both Analog and Digital).Foundation Fieldbus Transmitter: Worst case deviation < 1°C.Performance under Rated Conditions – All Models (continued)Parameter DescriptionStray Rejection Common ModeAC (50 or 60 Hz): 120 dB (with maximum source impedance of 100 ohms) or ±1 LSB (least significant bit) whichever is greater with line voltage applied.DC: 120 dB (with maximum source impedance of 50 ohms) or a ±1 LSB whichever isgreater with 120 Vdc applied.DC (to 1 KHz): 50 dB (with maximum source of impedance of 50 ohms) or ±1 LSBwhichever is greater with 50 Vac applied.Normal ModeAC (50 or 60 Hz): 60 dB (with 100% span peak-to-peak maximum)Operating Conditions – All ModelsParameter ReferenceConditionRated Condition Operative Limits Transportation andStorage︒C ︒F ︒C ︒F ︒C ︒F ︒C ︒FAmbient Temperature1STT850 25±1 77±2 -40 to 85 -40 to 185 -40 to 85 -40 to 185 -55 to 120 -67 to 248 Humidity %RH 10 to 55 0 to 100 0 to 100 0 to 100Supply Voltage Load Resistance HART Models: 11.8 to 42.4 Vdc at terminals (IS versions limited to 30 Vdc) 0 to 1,400 ohms (as shown in Figure 2)DE Models: 13.8 to 42.4 Vdc at terminals (IS versions limited to 30 Vdc)0 to 1,300 ohms (as shown in Figure 2)FF Models: 9.0 to 32.0 Vdc at terminals1 LCD Display operating temperature -20︒C to +70︒C . In suchcases what other methods should beused for evaluation of QT/QTc andproarrhythmic potential? In certain cases the conventional “thorough QT/QTc” study design (a crossover study in healthy volunteers with short-term administration of the usual maximum dose and one higher dose with placebo and positive control) might need to be modified for a drug or active metabolite with a long half-life or delayed QT effect, or because of safety, tolerability or practical issues that preclude use in healthy subjects. In most cases alternative designs can be used that may affect power considerations, but do notcompromise study interpretation. For example, multiple doses can be studied in aparallel design trial or can use patients with the disease for which the drug is intendedrather than healthy volunteers.Where a placebo-controlled comparison using appropriate doses is not possible, alternative study d esigns should incorporate as many of the usual “thorough QT/QTc”design features as possible, and the quality and extent of the pre-clinical evaluation (ICHS7B Guideline) is particularly critical. Other useful supplementary data might includeintensive ECG data acquisition in early phase single or multiple ascending dose studies, utilisation of concentration-response analysis, and evaluation of exposures that aregreater than are anticipated with the intended marketed dose.A single dose of a positive control is generally sufficient, even if it precedes theinvestigational drug treatment. In the absence of a positive control, there is reluctanceto draw conclusions of lack of an effect; however, if the upper bound of the two-sided90% confidence interval around the estimated maximal effect on QTc is less than 10 ms,it is unlikely to have an actual mean effect as large as 20 ms.When a thorough QTc study of usual or modified design is not feasible, the intensity oflate phase ECG monitoring will be dependent upon the quality and extent of the non-clinical and clinical evaluation. In situations where it is not possible to study higherexposures than are anticipated with the intended marketed dose, more intensive ECGmonitoring might be necessary during Phase 3 trials. All ABs are designed to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: frontal and knee ABs typically inflate in frontal collisions; side and side curtain ABs in side collisions; Roll-Sensing Curtain ABs at a severe tilt degree, roll or lateral G-force. In all other accidents, the ABs will not inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating AB, always wear seatbelts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front of an AB or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger seat. The force of an inflating AB may cause serious injury or death. See Owner’s Manual for further information/warnings. 21. The Adaptive Front Lighting System helps improve vision at night. Situations such as dirty windshield, rapidly changing light conditions or hilly terrain will limit effectiveness, requiring the driver to manually turn off. See Owner’s Manual for details. 22. Smart Stop Technology operates only in the event of certain simultaneous brake and accelerator pedal applications. When engaged, the system will reduce power to help the brakes bring the vehicle to a stop. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver input can all impact stopping distance. Smart Stop T echnology is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving and does not guarantee instant stopping. See Owner’s Manual for further details. 23. Continuous average power, all channels driven, at less than 0.1% THD; 20–20,000 Hz. 24. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is designed to assist the driver and is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving practices. See Owner’s Manual for details. 25. The SmartAccess system may interfere with some pacemakers or cardiac defibrillators. If you have one of these medical devices, please talk to your doctor to see if you should deactivate this system. 26. The engine immobilizer is a state-of-the-art anti-theft system. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or bring a SmartAccess fob into the vehicle, the key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle. The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip inside the key/fob matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer. Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key/fob, it can be costly to replace. If you lose a key or fob, your Lexus dealer can help. Alternatively, you can find a qualified independent locksmith to perform high-security key services by consulting your local Y ellow Pages or by contacting . 27. 20-in performance tires are expected to experience greater tire wear than conventional tires. Tire life may be substantially less than 20,000 miles, depending upon driving conditions. 28. Performance figures are for comparison only and were obtained with prototype vehicles by professional drivers using special safety equipment and procedures. Do not attempt. 29. 2014 EPA-estimated ratings. What happens on a write? • Write through: The information is written to both the block in the cache and to the block in the lower-level memory • Write back: The information is written only to the block in the cache.

Review: Which block should be replaced on a miss? • Easy for Direct Mapped: Only one possibility • Set Associative or Fully Associative:
Processor
Second Level Cache (SRAM)
Main Memory (DRAM)
• Conflict (collision):
– Multiple memory locations mapped to same cache location – Solutions: increase cache size, or increase associativity
Block no. 01234567 Block no.
Set associative:
block 12 can go anywhere in set 0 (12 mod 4)
01234567
Fully associative:
block 12 can go anywhere
Block no. 01234567
• Two others:
– Coherence (Invalidation): other process (e.g., I/O) updates memory – Policy: Due to non-optimal replacement policy

Review: A Summary on Sources of Cache Misses • Compulsory (cold start): first reference to a block
– “Cold” fact of life: not a whole lot you can do about it – Note: When running “billions” of instruction, Compulsory Misses are insignificant

• Question is one of page locality: does it exist?
Data Read or Write (untranslated)
• Can we have a TLB hierarchy?
3/4/10
– N direct mapped caches operates in parallel – Cache Index selects a “set” from the cache – Two tags in the set are compared to input in parallel – Data is selected based on the tag result
• Take advantage of the principle of locality to:
– Present as much memory as in the cheapest technology – Provide access at speed offered by the fastest technology

Review: Set Associative Cache • N-way set associative: N entries per Cache Index • Example: Two-way set associative cache
Access time = 100ns
100ns
• Capacity:
– Cache cannot contain all blocks access by the program – Solution: increase cache size
• Data in memory, 10ns cache:
– Instruction accesses spend a lot of time on the same page (since accesses sequential) – Stack accesses have definite locality of reference – Data accesses have less page locality, but still some… – Sure: multiple levels at different sizes/speeds
– Random – LRU (Least Recently Used)
Goals for Today • • • • • Finish discussion of Caching/TLBs Concept of Paging to Disk Page Faults and TLB Faults Precise Interrupts Page Replacement Policies
