Scottish wedding customs have changed dramatically over the years. In modern Scottish wedding, we can still see some traces of traditional custom, but those which have died out are more interesting.

In Barras Island, people will bless the new couple by sprinkling water on their bed. In Mull, it was customary that the new couple should sleep in a barn on wedding night. And in Lewis, new couple has to live with their parents for a week before going to their own home.
