After reading these two passages, I realized that many countries in the world exist gender discrimination. It is a long-standing historical and global problem.
Tracing back to ancient times in the Middle East, women were highly restricted their action, their words and their themselves. A woman was possession of her male relatives. What' more, America ranked in 22 behind developed and even a couple of developing countries in study of gender inequality.
So the problem of the gender inequality is seriously. However, a cat may look at a king. A feminist movement is quietly arising. Many countries advocate equality between men and women. And actually, the situation is becoming better and better. Although, no country offers women equal treatment with men, countries have made big progress not only in education and healthcare but accommodation for women.
As a girl, my mom always emphasizes that a woman is just a woman; we are not treated equal with man. As a female college student, I think the gender discrimination makes it more and more difficult for me to find a job even if I have experience and excellent qualifications.
But is it fair when I am treated differently just because of my sex?
In my views, nothing can be wrong so ridiculously as this sex-role distinctions because everyone is equal. All that's important is that women are not possessions and they should be respected. Furthermore, equality between the sexes has long been written into countries. Thus, gender discrimination should not be advocated, no matter from the perspective of society harmonized or economy.
In a word, it is of great significance to call for the gender-role revolution.。
