First of all, I believe if we plant more trees, there will be less haze in city. Trees can absorb exhaust fumes(尾气) from cars, thus pollution. Second, the government should punish the factories produce too many fumes. Exhaust fumes the main cause of haze and do harm to people’s health. Maybe we can move factories to areas where few live. Third, I think it a great idea to encourage people to use public transportation. Last but not least, we can call citizens to ride bikes if they travel short journeys.第二节书面表达A class meeting was held in our class last Wednesday. At the meeting my classmates had a heated debate on whether we should help the old people up when they fell over. Some think we have responsibility to help them, because we Chinese have fine traditions to help people in trouble. Others have quite different opinions. They think we should keep a distance from them and help to call an ambulance, because in recent years many lawsuits have happened due to helping old persons. In my opinion, how to help the old people depends on the specific situation. When the old person is in great danger and badly needs help, we should give an immediate first aid and help send him/her to the nearest hospital. When the old person is slightly injured, we should help to call the police.。

AEvery evening, 15-year-old Rashida returns home from school, changes out of her uniform, and rushes to a neighboring farm to help her mother harvest vegetables. Her father is disabled, so the modest profit the two of them earn must cover food, clothing and other necessities for all seven children and their parents. Despite having precious little time to study, Rashida is one of the top students at her junior secondary school. But with so much responsibility on her small shoulders, she admits that it is sometimes hard for herto imagine a more promising future.Last year, Rashida was invited to join 155 other girls at Camfed Ghana’s first Girls’ Career Camp, a program designed to inspire girl s growing up in the country’s Northern Region to dream big, and to support them to pursue those dreams. “We organized this camp because we w anted to let girls know that even if they are struggling with poverty, their lives will not be defined by limitatio ns,” says Dolores Dickson, Camfed Ghana’s Executive Director.Over the course of five days, the camp led the junior and secondary school students through a range of experi en ces and career opportunities that were entirely new to them. Dr. Agnes Apusiga, a lecturer from the University of Development Studies, ran the workshop on goal-setting and career choices, describing the universities and training colleges in Ghana that could help them achieve their dreams. Participants then visited the University for Development Studies, where they toured the medical school and science labs. Another highlight was a workshop at the computer lab at Tamale Secondary School. Many of the girls had studied information technology from a book but had never before seen a computer.“When the girls arrived at camp, they were not ambitious, because they didn’t have any idea what the world held for them,” says Eugenia Ayagiba, Project Officer with Camfed Ghana. “Many had scarcely traveled beyond their own villages.”“I think the most important thing that happened at the camp is that we opened a window of hope for a group of girls coming from backgrounds of poverty,” says Eugenia. For Rashida, who has been laughed at in the past by her schoolmates because of her father’s disability, th e experience was important. “She told one of the camp mentors(辅导员) that when she is at school, she often feels like a misfit, and she prefers to keep to herself,” says Eugenia. “But at the camp, it was different. She made friends with girls who have simila r struggles. She took part in every single activity, every single game. On the last day, she said to her mentor, ‘The camp has challenged me to study hard. Now I see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.’21.How many are there in Rashida’s family?A.Seven B.Eight C.Nine D.Ten22.Why did the camp lead the students to visit universities and training colleges?A.To show they are better than their schoolsB.To encourage them to get good education.C.To show them what they are likeD.To get them to touch the advanced equipment there23.What can we infer from the passage?A.Rashida has become friends with her mentorsB.Rashida’s mentors has encouraged her a lot.C.Rashida was sad because of her father’s disability.D.Rashida has had her new dream since the camp24.The best title of the passage is ___________.A.Poor Girls in Ghana B.Girls’ Career CampC.Camfed Ghana D.Students in Ghana Dream BigBI sat with my friend in a well-known coffee shop in a neighboring town of Venice. As we enjoyed our cof fee, a man called the waiter and placed his order, “Two cups of coffee, one on the wall.” We got interested and observed that he was served with one cup of coffee but he paid for two. As soon as he left, the waiter attached a piece of paper to the wall say ing “A Cup of Coffee.” Similar occasions took place twice while we were there. It seemed that this gesture was quite normal at this place. However, it was something unique and confusing for us.After a few days, when we again enjoyed coffee there, a man entered. The way this man was dressed did not match the standard or the atmosphere of this coffee shop. Poverty was evident from his looks. As he seated himself, he looked at the wall and said, “One cup of coffee from the wall.” The waiter served coffee to t his man with respect and dignity. The man had his coffee and left without paying. We were amazed to watch all this when the waiter took off a piece of paper from the wall and threw it in the dustbin.N ow it was no surprise for us; the matter was very clear. The great respect for the needy shown by people in this town moved us to tears.Coffee is not a necessity. However, the point is that when we take pleasure in any blessing, maybe we also need to think about those people who also appreciate that specific blessing but cannot afford.Note the waiter, who gets the communication going between the affording and the needy with a smile on his face. Think about the man in need: he enters the coffee shop without having to lower his self-dignity; he has a free cup of coffee without asking or knowing about who has given this cup of coffee to him; he only looked at the wall, placed an order for himself, enjoyed his coffee and left. Besides, we need to remember the role played by the wall that reflects the generosity and care of people in this town.25.What made the author interested as well as confused?A. The waiter’s making normal gestures.B. Customers’ buying coffee for th e needy.C. The waiter’s attaching coffee orders on the wall.D. Customers’ paying for coffe e and having it put on the wall.26.The author thought the man in need was ______.A. obviously poorB. not properly dressedC. not right to leave without payingD. strange to order coffee from the wall27.In the author’s opinion, coffee is _____.A. necess ary in our lifeB. a blessing some can’t affordC. respect shown for the needyD. a blessing everyone should have28.The passage is mainly concerned about ______.A. learning from the waiterB. buying coffee for othersC. caring more about the people in needD. analyzing the characters in the coffee shopCNew research shows that kids from low-income families may be falling behind their peers because an important part of their brains is underdeveloped.Researchers from MIT’ s McGovern Institute for Brain Research compared the brains of 12-and 13-year-olds from rich families with the brains of their peers from lower-income families. They found that one particular area of the brain—the neocortex(新皮质),which plays a key role in memory and learning ability—is thinner in children from lower-income households. This is a crucial part of the brain for young students, who are often tested based on their ability to recall large chunks of information. Children who had a thinner neocortex performed poorly on standardized tests, researchers found.More than 90% of high-income students scored above average on a statewide math and English/Language Arts standardized test, compared with less than 60% of low-income students.Differences in cortical(脑皮层) thickness could account for almost half of the income-achievement gap in this sample, researchers wrote.“Just as you would expect, there’ s a real cost not living in a supportive environment. We can see it not only in test scores,in educational attainment, but within the brains of these children,”says psychological scientist John Gabrieli,a professor of brain and cognitive sciences at MIT and one of the study’s authors.Since a 2011 study published by Stanford University professor Sean Reardon found that the gap between standardized test scores of high-income and low-income students has grown by about 40% since the 1960s,there’ s been a lot of research aimed at finding links between income and achievement, rather than race alone. The MIT study found low-income children were equally likely to have a thinner neocortex,no m atter their races.Gabrieli and his co-authors can’ t say exactly why poor children’ s brains develop differently because there are too many possibilities to count.Their findings do,however, underline the importance of early intervention(干预) to ensure that low-income kids get the tools they need to succeed.29.What’ s the function of the first paragraph?A. To list some findings.B. To give some advice.C. To do some comparisons.D. To show the main idea of the text.30.What does the underlined word “crucial” in Paragraph 3 mean?A. Special.B. Important.C. Separate.D. Unknown.31.What John Gabrieli says in Paragraph 4 mainly shows the importance of .A. cognitive abilityB. educational attainmentC. having developed brainsD. living in supportive surroundings32.What is the main idea of the passage?A.Wealthy parents do better in raising children.B.Differences exist between poor children and rich ones.C.Poor children study harder due to their financial conditions.D.Poor children have thinner neocortex than their wealthy peers.DDigital technology - email and smart phones especially-have vastly improved workers' ability to be productive outside of a traditional office. Even so, most white-collar work still happens in an office. One reason is that, according to findings of a new survey (调查) of office workers conducted by Wakefield Research for the IT company Citrix, most bosses are doubtful about remote working. Half of the workers say their boss doesn't accept it, and only 35 percent say it's tolerated.Skeptical bosses will likely have their doubts reinforced (加深)by the same survey, which shows that 43 percent of workers say they've watched TV or a movie while “working” remotely, while 35 percent have done housework, and 28 percent have cooked dinner. It is true, however, that working at home makes people much more efficient (高效的), because it allows workers to take care of annoying housework while still getting their jobs done. It’s muc h faster, for example, to shop for groceries at a quarter to three than to stand in line during the after-work rush. The fact that such practices remain officially unaccepted reflects how far we haven't come as a society from the days when we expected every full-time worker to be supportedby a full-time homemaker.More broadly the Wakefield survey suggests that employers may be missing a low-cost way to give workers something of value. Sixty-four percent of those survey participants who haven't worked remotely would rather give up some bonus in order to get even one day a week working from home. Under such circumstances, smart firms need to find ways to let their employees have enough ability to change or be changed easily to suit a different situation to manage their time efficiently.33.Why do some employers hesitate to allow remote working?A.
