When it comes to the discussion whether people treasure the classics or not, different people hold different views. Some people take it for granted that we should treasure the classics under any circumstance. However, others argue that since we are advancing toward the future, there is no need for us to treasure the classics. Weighing up these two arguments, i believe that the classics should be valued by all human being.
To start up, it is widely acknowledged that the classics are both important and beneficial to the character development and personal growth of the people. Undoubtedly, nothing can expose people to more life experiences than reading those masterpieces created by great figures, through which we can enrich our minds and become much more experienced in dealing with daily matters . Also, readers who really appreciate these ‘treasures’ can benefit in affecting their character formation. What's more, the classics can dramatically improve our literary knowledge and accomplishment. We can learn many helpful ways that the authors express their ideas to the readers. In some way, we can use their writing styles in our own compositions for reference to glorify the articles. Last but not least, these classics involve many aspects which are related to the previous culture. If we ignore these classics, some kind of culture will be forgotten and fading out of our memory.
From the foregoing, we can safely draw a conclusion that it is essential to treasure the classics. So we should be fully aware of the important role the classics play in our life. We should start reading and studying the treasuries our ancestors left and absorbing the essence of those classical works. We should also advocate to the public the importance of classics so that an increasing number of general people can enjoy the pleasure of studying the classics.
