Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up & Revision
1. Greet the class.
2. Free talk.
What day is it today? What can you do at home? Can you play sports?
What do you do on the weekend？
Do you often go to the nature park?
What’s in the nature park?
3. Read through the words and phrases in Unit 4, then play a spelling game to consolidate the words.
4. Review the four-skill sentences in Unit4.
5. Ask the Ss to say out the sentences according to the circum-
-stances.
Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Show the picture of Robin. Ask and answer with the following sentences What can he do? He can …
2. Set the situation.
The children will go to a nature park this weekend. Robin wants to go, too. He calls Miss White. Listen and see what Robin can do. Tick or cross. Help the Ss understand the new word call.
3. Listen again and answer the questions.
A. Can Robin cook noodles?
B. Can he swim?
C. Can he go to the park?
Then ask some individuals to check the answers.
4. Write two sentences about what else can Robin do?
Robin can make Wu Yifan finish his homework.
Robin can speak English and Chinese…
Then ask some individuals to read out their sentences.
5. Role-play.
Ask one student to be Robin, answer others’ questions.
