有一次他说，竟然有个老太太叫他"Mr.Crossing'！由于英语把人行道斑马线叫CROSSING，简写成XING，在美国的大街小巷处处都可以看到"Xing'，那个老太太也许以为他的姓也是简写，为敬重他就把"Xing'扩展读出来，就是"Mr.Crossing'。
姓"徐'、"许'或姓"付'的伴侣就更难受，由于"Fxxx you '在英语里是一句极粗劣具污辱性的骂人话，人们往往把动词简写成Ｘ或是Ｆ，把You简写成Ｕ，所以一般人冷不丁看到XU 或者FU心里都会有点别扭。
有个姓徐的伴侣的小孩在学校里就被别的孩子喊"Fxxx you ，以取笑他的性，孩子气哭了，伴侣特意到学校和老师校长打招呼，盼望不要再发生这种事。
Xu字被老外念起来更是五花八门，发什么音的都有。
据说还有姓"奚'的被人当作罗马数字"ＸＩ'念成"Mr. Eleven'的。
其实不只是"X'，"Q'、"Z'、"Zh'等音外国人都发不出来，"Ｑ'在英语里后面确定是跟着"Ｕ'的，如"Queen'"Quit'等等，所以单单一个Ｑ他们会很困扰，干脆就照着"ＱＵ'发音，于是"秦'（Qin）就变成接近于"Queen'的发音了。

美国人眼中的中国人
一、中国人多，满世界都是
奥运会开幕式很精彩，但老美看后说：中国好多人哦，上面的相片也充分说明他们的观点。
二、中国人喜欢开餐馆
在美国无论大小城市，就算是最最边远的小镇，都会有中国人开的餐馆，据开玩笑说，上月球的太空船，都有中国外卖店的传单。
还有老外也知道中餐馆很多时候只收现金，这样在美国可以“合理避税”。
三、中国人什么东西都吃，还不长胖
中国人很稀奇古怪，鸡爪，鸭爪，鸡头，鸭头，内脏，什么都吃，这些在美国被他们称为“PET FOOD”, 用来喂猫，喂狗的东西，都是中国人的最爱。
最让美国人受不了的是中国人吃狗肉，美国人认为狗就是宠物，而一个宠物在美国人心里就是家庭的一份子，中国人吃狗的肉，就好比吃自己家人的肉那样不可理解。
四、中国人比较沉默，遵纪守法，不惹是生非
所以在任何好的区，都可以看到中国人，老美也比较愿意与中国人为邻居。
五、中国女人很多都是同性恋或者有同性恋倾向
好多朋友问我中国女人是不是有同性恋倾向，他们总是不理解中国女性为什么逛街时会手牵着手，还经常睡在一张床上，在老美看来就是同性恋的表现。
六、中国人比较内向，含蓄，不谈性
不喜欢把自己的感情外露，更不喜欢随时随地把“我爱你”挂在嘴边，不会在公共场所搂搂抱抱，也不谈性方面的事情，但中国人比较重行动，所以多人口那么多。
七、中文很难学
老外经常开玩笑：如果比喻什么事情很困难，他们会说像学中文那么困难（不得不解释一下，教他们中文的很多都是台湾同胞，因为他们移民早，所以他们多半都是教老外繁体，不难才怪呢！）
八、有美国人称中国人“杏仁眼”
有个美国朋友的孩子在学校班上成绩一直名列前茅，有一次回家，很伤心地告诉父母“自从班上来了杏仁眼，我就再不是排在前面的人了。
”“杏仁眼”成了中国人的代名词。
九、中国人个子矮小
他们普遍认为中国人个子很矮，因为他们看到很多早期的移民，多半是中国南方过去的，我经常告诉他们，中国的北方有很多比较高大威猛的.
还有上海的姚明，世界第一高也是中国人。
十、以为中国人个个都会打乒乓球。
有次我和一个外国朋友打乒乓球，他赢了，然后就很高兴地四处吹嘘：“我打赢了高娓娓，我的乒乓技术比中国人还高。
”让我气不打一处来，我的乒乓球水平很差，根本就不能代表中国的水平，各位同胞，在这里我还要向大家道歉，有损国家的乒乓球大国形象。
以后我一定奋发图强，苦练打乒乓。
十一、以前，很多美国朋友都认为中国人个个都会武功。
因为李小龙，成龙，李连杰在美国很出名，中国武馆也在国外遍地开花，还有一些教中国武功的是老外，所以时不时有朋友问我是不是会武功？
十二、中国人勤劳，很知道节约钱，经常身上带现金
看到在美国的中国人，工作很勤奋，只知道苦挣钱，不乱花，中国人很喜欢买房子,经常身上带现金，所以容易被抢劫。
金融危机来时，许多美国人一失业，房子就被银行收去了，而中国人银行里总有足够的存款度过难关。
（有个老外朋友金融危机前用26万美金买的房子，现被银行收回后才卖10万）
十三、中国人爱国，对祖国忠心耿耿
就算加入美国国籍，只要有机会中国人都会帮中国。
不是出过好多次说华人是间谍的事情吗？李文和事件大家还记得吧？
十四、中国人喜欢群居，很多城市，不管是大城市还是小城市，都有中国人聚集的“中国城”。
这倒是，不管在哪里，你都会看到中国的牌坊，中国城，城里有中国的超市，中国的餐馆，中国的一切的一切。
十五、中国女人的心难以琢磨。
美国人说什么东西难以猜测，就会说像中国女人的心，因为他们总是摸不透中国女人在想什么。
其实他们不知道，也许是中国女人因为英语不好，不方便表白，也可能是中国女人向来比较含蓄，即使有意见，也不会说得太直白。
十六、他们说谁开车开得不好，就说：像中国女人开车
有一次，一个美国朋友在无意中我面前说了这句，很不好意思，问我介不介意？他们还说，没有别的意思，只是一种说法而已。
十七、中国女性比较传统，忠于家庭
在好多美国人眼里，中国女性善良，美丽，会持家，又是那么传统，保守，放在家里可靠，中国女性是很传统，注重家庭，所以现在老美以找到中国女性为骄傲。
十八、中国菜好吃，中国的高楼多
