该课题出现在初三教材的第三单元,事实上在牛津英语深圳版课本中曾出现France is calling 一课,当时教师也是在此话题上对学生进行了关于名胜或旅游城市的材料阅读、口头描述、听力获取信息和书面描写等训练。

主阅读材料有三篇,分别描写了中国长城、上海博物馆和桂林漓江,三处分别为古代建筑、现代建筑和自然景观。

学生在不同学习阶段都接触过长城,是最熟悉的一处,对上海博物馆相对陌生,对桂林山水也较熟悉。

鉴于以上分析,在主阅读材料前的B Look and think部分,难度较低,在本课中删去;A What do you know about…?部分也可考虑换形式,将信息整合,以头脑风暴的形式促使学生的原有背景知识的再现,关键词tourist是已见过的词汇,只要以情景出现学生即能理解。

学生将在本课时的训练和学习中练习运用阅读技巧获取直接信息和对间接信息加工处理,以及借助情景等对生词词义进行猜测,这些也将需要用到今后的阅读过程和考查中。
