Hi, my name is Jamie and I'm going to tell you all the awesome reasons why handmade things are so much better than stuff made by machines. Get ready, because this is gonna be the best essay ever!
First of all, handmade means a real person made it with their own two hands. That's just way cooler than some dumb robot or machine cranking out a bazillion of the same thing over and over again. My mom makes the most amazing handmade blankets, hats, and scarves. She spends hours knitting and crocheting, putting little touches on each thing to make it unique. I love snuggling up in the cozy blankets she makes for me. They're soft and warm and made with love. You can't get that from something a machine spit out at a factory!
I have this teddy bear that my grandma made for me when I was just a tiny baby. She stitched it together and gave it the sweetest little face. That bear has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I'm never letting it go because it's handmade just for me. It's way more meaningful than some toy you could buy at the store.

I get that factories are important to make basic things we need like clothes, furniture and dishes. I'm not saying we should never have any machine-made products. My grandparents have this beautiful handmade wooden chest that grandpa made as a wedding gift for grandma over 50 years ago. machine-made things. In my opinion, handmade is so much better and I'm going to tell you why.
First of all, handmade items are one-of-a-kind. That means there's no other one exactly like it in the whole world! When you make something with your own two hands, it's totally unique.
Maybe you used different colors, added extra decorations, or made it a funky shape. Whatever you did, it's your own special creation that nobody else has.
But machine-made products are the opposite. They're made to be exactly the same, over and over again. Millions of the exact same toy, same shirt, same anything. That's so boring! Who wants the same thing as everyone else? Not me!
Another awesome thing about handmade is you can make it however you want. You're the boss! If you're knitting a scarf, you can make it any length, any colors, any pattern. Hi, my name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about why handmade things are so much better than stuff made by machines in a factory. Get ready, because I've got a lot to say on this topic!
First of all, handmade items are one-of-a-kind. When you make something with your own two hands, it's impossible for it to be exactly the same as anything else out there. My mom is really good at sewing and she made me the most awesome jacket last year for my birthday. None of the other kids have one like it.
