Should we keep the 12 Principles from Christoph Wilhelm von
Hufeland for verity?
I respect the doctor who raise the 12 Principles from Christoph Wilhelm von Hufeland and I learn a lot from it. But I do not agree with all the items, because some of the items are improper nowadays.
Such as the sentence“To live for others and not for himself is a physician’s vocation.”I t is uncomfortable for me to accept this sentence when Iknow it firstly. Why would I have this feeling? Selfishness may be the best answer. I think selfish is the nature of human and It is not a negative thought but an honest one. We should help others as a general man from code of ethics. We should save the life and health as a doctor or a nurse from code of profession. However, we should live for ourselves at first.
On conclusion, if the doctors or nurses do not have the right to sacrifice himself, maybe they will have more enthusiasmto save life and health.
