Most people want to work, but it has become more difficult in today’s world to find work for everybody. The economies of the wold need to grow by 4% each year just to keep the old numbers of jobs for people. Often this is not possible, and so more people are without work. Some people have no jobs now because new machines can do the work of many people in a short time. Also machines do not ask for more money and longer hlidays. In all of the countries of the world machines are taking work from people, not only in factories but also on the farms. One machine can often do the work of forty people. About 75,000 people are moving to the cities a day to look for jobs, but only 70% of them can find jobs.

Dear Tina,
Here is my suggestion about your part—time job. I think that you want to do part—time job for these reasons. First, you can make some pocket money, then you can be free to buy your favorite things and thus develop a sense of independence. Second, you can learn how to deal with various problems in the workplace. Third, you can improve your social skill and learn how to communicate with others. Maybe it is a good opportunity for you to build up new friendships. But part—time job also has some disadvantages. This summer holiday should be a catch—up time for independent study, and your parents may regard learning as an increasingly important task for you. Besides, personal safety may also be one of your parents’ major considerations.
And my advice for you is this :make a detailed plan for your study and work; ask your friends to work together with you, and tell your parents that you can manage things properly. I wish you a pleasant summer.
