高教社中职英语基础模块三第七单元作文

高教社中职英语基础模块三第七单元作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite CelebrationHi friends! Today I want to tell you all about my favorite celebration of the whole year - Chinese New Year! It's the most exciting and fun holiday ever. I look forward to it for months and months. Let me tell you why I love it so much!First of all, Chinese New Year means no school for two whole weeks! Can you believe that? Two full weeks with no classes, no homework, no waking up early. It's the longest break we get all year. During that time, I get to sleep in as late as I want. My parents don't make me do any chores around the house either. It's just pure relaxation and fun!The best part is that my whole family comes together for Chinese New Year. My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all travel to our house from near and far. Our home gets so crowded and noisy, but I love it! We play games, watch movies, eat lots of delicious foods, and catch up on each other's lives. It's amazing having the whole family under one roof.Speaking of food, that's another highlight of Chinese New Year - all the yummy treats! My mom spends days preparing fantastic dishes like dumplings, noodles, fish, and amazing desserts. One of my favorites is niangao, a sweet sticky rice cake. We also get platters piled high with candies, chocolates, dried fruits and nuts to snack on at all hours. On Chinese New Year's Eve, the entire family stays up late into the night. We watch the New Year's TV gala which has amazing singers, dancers, comedy acts and more. At midnight, we listen for firecrackers going off to welcome the new year. Then we exchange red envelopes filled with money! I usually get at least a few hundred dollars from my parents and relatives to splurge on toys and games.New Year's Day is filled with more fun traditions. We wear brand new clothes from head to toe for good luck. We spend the morning executing four wishes: smiling, eating extra helpings of food, avoiding negativity, and not cleaning or sweeping (to avoid sweeping away good luck!). In the afternoon, we might watch a movie, walk around a flower market, or visit temples and pray.My grandparents give me a red envelope with money and their blessings for the new year. Sometimes my cousins and I also get extra red envelopes from our aunts and uncles. With allthat money, you can bet I'll be buying lots of new video games and LEGO sets later! After the first few days, the celebrations keep going with visits to other relatives' homes. I look forward to the playfulness at these gatherings - we kids run around, play games, watch TV, and munch on snacks endlessly. And of course, more red envelope cash! It feels like every visit brings another windfall. All in all, I love Chinese New Year because it means quality time with family, amazing food, two weeks off school, fun traditions, and best of all - piles of crisp red envelope money! What's not to love about that?! It's easily my favorite time of the whole year. I wish Chinese New Year could happen every month! If you've never celebrated it before, you're really missing out. Maybe you can join my family next year and experience it!篇2My Favorite ThingsHi there! My name is Lily and I'm in 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about some of my very favorite things in the whole wide world. Get ready because I have a lot to share!First up is my favorite food - pizza! I love love LOVE pizza so much. My favorite kind is pepperoni pizza but I'll be honest, I don't think there is any kind of pizza I don't like at least a little bit. There's just something about that yummy bread covered in sauce and melty cheese that makes me super happy. Pizza is definitely my number one favorite food ever.Another one of my favorite things is reading books. I'm kind of a bookworm if you can't tell! I love reading all sorts of books - fiction books with fun stories and characters, non-fiction books about science and history, books of jokes and riddles, you name it! Getting lost in the magical world of a good book is one of my most favorite things ever. I always feel so sad when a really great book comes to an end. But then I just start an exciting new book!Speaking of books, I have to mention my favorite book series - Harry Potter! I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I've read all the books at least three times and seen all the movies more times than I can count. I just love the world of wizards, witches, magic spells, and supernatural creatures. My favorite character is Hermione because she's such a smart, brave witch. I really admire how she uses her intelligence to help her friends. Plus, her spells always come in handy! I have a wand, Gryffindor robe, and even some Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans at home to makeme feel like part of the wizarding world when I'm reading Harry Potter.Moving on from books to activities, one of my absolute favorite things to do is swim. There's a pool not too far from my house and I love going swimming on hot summer days. I'm a pretty strong swimmer and can do all the basic strokes like freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. My favorite is probably freestyle though because I can swim super fast that way! I dream of maybe being an Olympic swimmer one day and winning lots of gold medals. How cool would that be?Another fun activity I love is playing soccer. I'm on my school's soccer team and we practice twice a week after school. Soccer helps me stay active while also letting me work on important skills like teamwork, determination, and good sportsmanship. Scoring a goal and seeing that ball hit the back of the net is such an awesome feeling. We've got a really big game coming up soon against our biggest rivals, the Lions. I'm a little nervous but mostly really excited. I plan on giving it my absolute all! Those are some of my very favorite things, but there's one more pretty important thing I need to mention - my family! I love my mom, dad, and little brother Xavier more than anything in theuniverse. My parents work really hard to provide for us and give us an amazing life. They always support me in everything I do, whether it's my latest hobby, a sporting event, or anything else. My little brother can be a total pest sometimes, but he's actually a lot of fun once you get past his annoying little brother habits. We all love having game nights, going on hikes, and just spending quality time together. I feel so lucky to have such a loving, caring family.Well, that's it from me! Those are some of my all-time favorite things. Maybe you have some favorite things in common with me, or maybe your favorites are totally different. Either way, I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about what makes me smile. Life is so much brighter when you can surround yourself with the people, activities, interests and foods you love most. Gotta run for now - until next time!篇3My Favorite HolidayHello friends! Today I want to tell you about my favorite holiday. Can you guess what it is? It's Christmas! I just love everything about Christmas. Get ready because I'm going to tell you all about it.First of all, Christmas is amazing because of all the decorations everywhere. My family puts up a huge Christmas tree in our living room. We cover it with lights that blink different colors. Then we hang ornaments all over it - ornaments are little decorations in different shapes like stars, bells, balls, and Santas. We have ornaments we've collected over many years. Some are old ones my parents had when they were kids!We also decorate the outside of our house with lights. Daddy climbs up on the roof (carefully!) and puts lights all along the edges. Then he wraps lights around the trees and bushes in our yard. Our whole house looks so pretty and festive all lit up at night. Lots of other houses on our street do the same thing too so the whole neighborhood is ablaze with twinkling lights.Another part of Christmas I adore is all the smells and foods. We make Christmas cookies like gingerbread men, sugar cookies decorated with frosting and sprinkles, and cookies shaped like trees. Mmm they smell so good when they are baking! Then there are candies like chocolate Santas, candy canes, and boxes of assorted chocolates. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!For main meals, we often have a big turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and other delicious dishes. But the best part is dessert - pies like pumpkin and pecan pie. We splurge and eat way too many sweets during the Christmas season. So good!Of course, one of the most exciting parts of Christmas is the presents! In the weeks before, my siblings and I make our Christmas wish lists of toys and games we hope to receive. Then on Christmas Eve, we leave out plates of cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer. We hang up our stockings over the fireplace too. When we wake up on Christmas morning, there are colorfully wrapped gifts under the tree from Santa! We take turns opening our presents one by one. I love getting new toys to play with. Last year I got a super cool robot that can walk, talk, and even dance. This year I'm hoping for a chemistry set so I can do experiments. After the gift opening chaos, we have a big Christmas breakfast with cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate, and other treats. Then we spend the rest of the day playing with our new toys and visiting with relatives who come over to celebrate. We watch Christmas movies together too. My favorite is "Elf" because it's so silly and funny. At the end of the perfect Christmas day, I'm happily exhausted from all the fun. I go to bed feeling extra thankful for my amazing family and all the love surrounding us during this special holiday. Christmas fills me with a warm, cozy feeling that stays with me for a long time after.Well, that's why Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday of the whole year! Between the decorations, yummy foods, family time, and of course the presents, what's not to love? I can't wait for next Christmas when I get to experience the whole magical season again. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!篇4Unit 7: My Dream CareerHi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm in 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my dream career. I've been thinking a lot about what I want to be when I grow up. It's a really big decision!Right now, I think I want to be a doctor. Doctors are really cool because they get to help sick people feel better. My grandma was sick last year and had to go to the hospital. The doctors there took such good care of her. They gave hermedicine and made sure she was comfortable. I was so grateful to them for making my grandma healthy again.Being a doctor seems like a lot of hard work though. First, you have to go to college for four whole years after high school! Then you have to go to an even harder school called medical school for another four years on top of that. Eight years of school after you graduate from high school? No thanks! But I know it's worth it because doctors learn everything there is to know about the human body and how to fix any problems it might have. They study things like anatomy to learn about all the body's parts. And they learn about different diseases so they can diagnose what's wrong with their patients. Doctors are like detectives trying to solve a mystery about what's making someone sick! After all that school, doctors finally get to start working at a hospital or clinic. That's where the real fun begins! They get to see patients all day long and figure out what's wrong with them. Then they prescribe medicine or treatments to make the patients healthy again. Just thinking about being able to help people that way makes me really excited.Of course, being a doctor isn't all fun and games. It's a seriously tough job. Doctors have to work super long hours, like12 hours a day or more sometimes! They're on their feet basically the whole time too, going from patient to patient. And if there's an emergency, they have to rush in and work quickly to save someone's life. No pressure or anything! What if a doctor makes a mistake though? That would be absolutely terrifying! One tiny little mix-up with the wrong medicine could make someone even sicker than they were before. Doctors have to be extremely careful and double-check everything they do. They can't afford any silly mistakes when people's lives are at stake.Another thing that might be hard is dealing with patients who are mean or rude. I'm sure some people get grumpy when they're not feeling well. As a doctor, you'd have to be really patient (no pun intended!) and kind to everyone, even if they're taking out their crankiness on you. It probably isn't easy to stay cheerful all the time when you're dealing with sick people day after day.But you know what? I think all the challenges of being a doctor would be worth it because you'd be doing such an important job. Literally saving lives and making the world a better place! How awesome is that? Whenever I picture myself as a doctor, I imagine walking down the hospital hallway in mywhite coat with a stethoscope around my neck. All the nurses and patients would look at me with respect because they'd know I'm someone who helps others for a living. My parents always tell me I'd make a great doctor because I'm a caring person who looks out for my friends and little brother. Whenever someone gets hurt at recess, I'm the first one to run over and help them out. I'm not afraid of seeing a little blood or anything gross like that. I just want to make sure my friends are okay!I know it's a longgggg road to becoming a doctor, but I'm willing to work super hard in school for the next 12+ years if that's what it takes. You have to be really dedicated and never give up on your dream! I'll study biology and chemistry and whatever other tough subjects are required. And I'll keep volunteering at the hospital like I do now to get great experience. Baby steps in the right direction.Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind about being a doctor later on and want to do something different. That's okay too! The world needs all kinds of important workers like teachers, engineers, scientists, firefighters, and so much more. Whatever career I end up choosing, I just want it to be something that makes me hop out of bed in the morning excited to go to work.A job where I can make a difference in people's lives. Something I'm passionate about and never gets boring.Well, thanks for reading about my dream of being a doctor! Let me know what you want to be when you grow up. I'll be cheering you on every step of the way towards making your dream a reality!篇5Unit 7: Festivals Around the WorldHi friends! Today I want to tell you all about some really cool festivals from around the world. Festivals are fun times when people celebrate something special with parades, food, music, and dancing. Every country and culture has their own neat festivals. Let me tell you about some of my favorites!First up is the Holi Festival in India. This one is also called the Festival of Colors. Can you guess why? It's because during Holi, people throw bright colored powders and waters at each other! The colors symbolize joy, love, and the arrival of spring. People wear white clothes so the colors really pop. There are big street parties with singing, dancing, and yummy Indian foods like samosas and sweets. I wish I could go to India for Holi because it looks like the most colorful, happiest festival ever!Next is the Up Helly Aa Fire Festival in Scotland. This one happens in the cold winter, which is maybe why they set so much on fire! The biggest event is a huge parade with people marching while carrying flaming torches. At the end, they burn a big model galley ship as crowds cheer and sing songs. There are also fun costume parties where people dress up in crazy Viking outfits. I'd love to see all the fire and flames in person. Just have to bundle up warm! How about the Day of the Dead celebrated in Mexico? This doesn't sound like much of a party at first because it's to honor dead ancestors. But it's actually really colorful and cheerful! Families visit graves and decorate them with bright flowers, skull masks, and the favorite foods of their departed loved ones. There are big parades with dancing skeletons and an important role for the iconic Lady of the Dead figure. I think the holiday looks beautiful with all the decorations and celebration of those who came before.Another cool one is the Lantern Festival in Taiwan. For this festival, which marks the end of Chinese New Year celebrations, people release big bright lanterns into the night sky. Can you imagine how magical that must look with hundreds of lanterns drifting up? The lanterns are made of oiled rice paper on abamboo frame and often painted with fancy designs. There are huge crowds singing and watching the lanterns take flight while making wishes as they go. Sending a lantern into the sky is meant to bring good luck and happiness in the new year. I'd love to make a wish on a lantern! My last festival is Oktoberfest in Germany. This one is basically one gigantic beer party that lasts for weeks! The heart of Oktoberfest is in Munich, where they set up huge beer tents and halls for the celebration. People dress up in traditional Bavarian outfits like lederhosen (leather shorts) and dirndl dresses. There's oom-pah band music, folk dancing, carnival rides, and most importantly...endless mugs of beer! They serve special Oktoberfest brews made just for the event. It looks like such a fun, lively atmosphere with everyone singing, dancing on tables, and making merry. Obviously no beer for me, but I'd still like to go for the amusement rides, music, and people watching.Well, those are some of the most fascinating and fun festivals from around the globe. Aren't they awesome? I'd really like to experience all of these cultural celebrations in person one day. Maybe you'll get to go to one too! Just remember to respect the local traditions if you do. Holidays and festivals are important for every society as a way to celebrate their history, values, andwhat makes their culture unique. We should learn about and appreciate them all. Thanks for reading, friends!篇6My Summer VacationYay, summer vacation is finally here! No more waking up super early and sitting in class all day. Summer is the best time of year because I get to sleep in late, play outside, go on trips, and have lots of fun! This summer, my family went on the funnest vacation ever. We drove for a really long time to get to the beach. In the car, my little brother kept asking "Are we there yet?" over and over again until my mom got mad at him. I didn't mind the long drive though because I got to listen to music, look out the window, and my dad even let me have some snacks in the car which isn't allowed usually. When we finally made it to the beach house we were staying at, I was so excited! It was right by the ocean and you could hear the waves crashing on the shore. We had to unpack all of our stuff first, which was no fun. But as soon as that was done, I put on my swimsuit and raced down to the beach! The beach was amazing. The sand was perfectly warm and soft between my toes. I ran straight into the ocean, splashing around in the salty water. The waves were pretty big that first day so my dad had to watch me carefully. I tried to body surf but kept getting tumbled over by the powerful waves. It was still a blast though! In the late afternoon, my mom set up our beach towels and umbrella and we had a picnic dinner watching the sunset. The colors in the sky were so vibrant - bright oranges, pinks, and purples. I've never seen a more beautiful sight than that sunset over the ocean. Once it got dark, we built a campfire right on the beach and roasted marshmallows. I got mine a little too close to the flames and it caught on fire for a second before I blew it out. Luckily the gooey insides were still good though and s'mores are my favorite! We spent pretty much every day at the beach. I worked hard on making the most awesome sandcastles, decorating them with seashells and driftwood. My little brother of course had to come along and smash them before I was done working. That made me so mad but that's just how pesky little brothers are I guess. We also went body boarding one day and had a blast riding the waves, though I swallowed a ton of salty ocean water. On the last day of our trip, we went on a boat tour to go whale watching. I've never seen whales in real life before, only in pictures and movies. It was really hard to spot them at first but finally we saw a huge group of grey whales! They were so ginormous and powerful as they came up for air. A couple even jumped clear out of the water, splashing down with a huge crash. I've never seen anything like it - it was totally awesome! After the whales swam away, we got to go snorkeling which I was really excited about. The boat captain gave me goggles and a tube to breathe through so I could swim around and see all the amazing fish and ocean life up close. Underneath the surface was like another world with brightly colored fish everywhere. I even saw a few sea turtles slowly swimming by. I wish I could have stayed underwater watching them all day.All too soon, our vacation was over and it was time to pack up and head home. I sulked in the backseat, not ready to go back to normal life yet after having such an incredible trip. My parents say we'll definitely go back to the beach again next summer though. I can't wait to make more awesome sandcastles, jump through the waves, and who knows what other adventures we'll go on! This was by far the best summer ever.。
