Incorrect handling of the positioner may adversely affect the performance of the unit in its application.Please observe the following guide-lines for handling and mounting of your new positioner.DO NOT allow the positioner to drop onto the mounting surface.Dropping the positioner can generate impact loads that may result in flat spots on bearing surfaces or misalignment of drive components.DO NOT drill holes into the positioner.Drilling holes into the positioner can generate particles and machining forces that may effect the op-eration of the positioner.Parker Hannifin Corporation will drill holes if necessary;contact your local authorized distributor.DO NOT subject the unit to impact loads such as hammering,riveting,etc.Impacts loads generated by hammering or riveting may result in flat spots on bearing surfaces or misalignment of drive components.DO NOT push in belt seals when removing positioner from shipping crate.Damaging belt seals may create additional friction during travel and may jeopardize the ability of the beltseals to protect the interior of the positioner.If belt seals are pushed in run carriage by hand over entire travel and the belts will reset.DO NOT submerge the positioner in liquids.DO NOT disassemble positioner.Unauthorized adjustments may alter the positioner’s specifications and void the product warranty.Return InformationReturnsAll returns OperationDepending upon your load and ballscrew selection the carriage and load may‘backdrive’in power loss situations potentially causing product damage or personal injury.An electro-mechanical brake,which will activate in response to a loss of power(option‘B2’),can be used to pre-vent potential product damage or personal injury.Note:Actual maximum load for brake holding is dependent on screw lead.Strain Relieve Electrical ComponentsAll electrical components(such as brakes,encoders,and limit/home switches)must be strain relieved.Failure to strain relieve electrical wires or cables may result in component failure and/or possible personal injury.Specification Conditions and ConversionsSpecifications are Temperature DependentCatalog Specifications are obtained and measured at20Degrees C.Specifications at any other temperature may deviate from catalog specifications.Minimum to Maximum continuous operating temperature range(with NO guarantee of any specification except motion)of a standard unit before failure is5-70Degrees C.Certain components can be eliminated or substituted to improve operation at these tempera-tures.Positioners with low temperature or high temperature components will be handled as specials,contact your local distributor.Specifications are Mounting Surface DependentCatalog Specifications are obtained and measured when the positioner is fully supported,bolted down(to eliminate any extrusion deviation), and is mounted to a work surface that has a maximum flatness error of0.013mm/300mm(0.0005”/ft).Specifications are Point of product specifications pages.The following graphs and formulas are used to establish the table life relative to the applied loads.The useful life of a linear table at full catalog specifications is dependent on the forces acting upon it.These forces include both static components resulting from payload weight,and dynamic components due to acceleration/deceleration of the load.in multi-axes applications,the primary posi-tioner at the bottom of the stack usually establishes the load limits for the combined axes.When determining life/load,it iscritical to include the weight of all positioning elements that contribute to the load supported by the primary axis.Table Life Load Chart :Compression (Normal Load)This graph provides a “rough cut”evaluation of the support bearing life/load characteristics.The curves show the life/load relationship when the applied load is centeredon the carriage,normal (perpendicular)to the carriage mounting surface.For final evaluation of Look over the area where the box should be mounted to make sure that there is enough room to mount box. Step 2: Remove all components from package and carefully move Box to the frame where to be mounted to assure Box is mountable at that area. Holes are not predrilled in Box due to variety of different hole patterns.Drawing A: Drawing B:Step 3: Remove Box from mounting position. Drill four holes in back of Box as shown in drawings below (11/16” diameter for Figure 1 and 9/16” diameter for Figure 2).Step 4: Relocate Box back to mounting position. For M3000H Kit, go to step No. 6.Step 5: Mark the predrilled holes, patterned on the Box you just drilled to the frame where holes need to be drilled. Remove Box and drill four 9/16” diameter holes at each mark on the frame (refer to truck O.E.M. shop manual for recommended frame drilling instructions).Step 6: Apply the 3” strip of rubber material (d) to Box (as shown in Drawing A or B). Cut drilled holes in the rubber you just applied, with a utility knife and relocate Box to the frame. Insert Hooks or Bolts with washers, through the holes (as shown on Drawing A or B). Place one flat washer under a lock nut and tighten all nuts securely to complete installation.Note. If spacing is required due to bolts or brackets on truck frame place an aluminum spacer between box and truck frame and longer bolts will need to be used.1.Lubricate hinges and all moving lock partsperiodically with light household oil.2.Check and tighten bolts periodically.3.Check and replace worn-out weather strippingas needed.Notice2. A filter is required for each return −air inlet. Airflow performance includes a 3/4 in. (19 mm) washable filter media such as contained in factory − authorized accessory filter rack. See accessory list. To determine airflow performance without this filter, assume an additional 0.1 in. W.C. available external static pressure.2. ADJUST THE BLOWER SPEED TAPS AS NECESSARY FOR THE PROPER AIR TEMPERATURE RISE FOR EACH INSTALLATION.3. Shaded areas indicate that this airflow range is BELOW THE RANGE ALLOWED FOR HEATING OPERATION. THESE AIRFLOW RANGES MAY ONLY BE USED FOR COOLING.4. Airflows over 1800 CFM require bottom return, two −side return, or bottom and side return. A minimum filter size of 20” x 25” is required.5. For upflow applications, air entering from one side into both the side of the furnace and a return air base counts as a side and bottom return.6. All airflows that are shown in BOLD exceed 0.58 Watts per CFM at the given external static pressure.PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONSGas Furnace: N9MSB8440 21 4413 00Copyright 2014 International Comfort ProductsLewisburg, Tennessee 37091 USAA C C E S S O R I E SP A R T N U M B E R C O M P O N E N T N A M ED E S C R I P T I O N040141004017120601412060171608017160802120100211610021201202420N A H A 00101C T E X T E R N A L T R A P K I TC O NDE N S A T E T R A PX X X X X X X X X N A H A 00110D A D R A I N A C C E S S O R Y1/2” C P V C T O 3/4” P V C (10 P A C K )X X X X X X X X X N A H A 002C VV E N T T E R M I N A T I O N K I T2” C O N C E N T R I C V E N TX X X X X X X XN A H A 001C V3” C O N C E N T R I C V E N TX X X X X XN A H A 00101V C I N T E R N A L V E N T K I TT H R O U G H T H E C A B I N E TX X X X X X X X XN A H A 00301V TD I RE C T V E N T T E R M I N A T I O N K I T2” B R A C K E TX X X X X XN A H A 00401V T3” B R A C K E TX X X X X X X XXN A H A 00101C K I N L E T A I R P I P E C O U P L I N GC O U P L I N G F O R P O L Y P R O P Y L E N E V E N T S Y S T E M SX X X X X X X XXN A H A 00101H VH O R I Z O N T A L I N S T A L L A T I O N K I TT R A P G R O M M E T (D I R E C T V E N T A P P L I C A T I O N O N L Y )X X X X X X XXXN A H A 00101H H F R E E Z E P R O T E C T K I TC O NDE N S A T E D R A I N L I N E − T A P EX X X X X X XXXN A H A 00201H HC O NDE N S A T EF R E E Z E P R O T E C T K I TC O NDE N S A T E T R A P W I T H H E A T P A DX X X X X XXXXN A H A 01101S B F L O O R B A S E K I TC O M B U S T I B L E F L O O RX X X X X XXXXN A H C 00901L P *G A S C O N V E R S I O N K I TN A T U R A L T O P R O P A N EX X X X X XXXXN A H C 00901N G *P R O P A N E T O N A T U R A LX X X X XXXXXN A H A 00101M H *M A N U F A C T U R E D H O M E K I TG A S C O N V E R S I O N K I TX X X X XXXXXN A H A 00701W K T W I N N I N G K I TO P E R A T I O N O F T W O I D E N T I C A L S I Z E M O D E L F U R N A C E S XXXXXXXN A H A 00506F B †W A S H A B L E F I L T E R P A C KW A S H A B L E F I L T E R 1” X 16” X 25” (6 P A C K )XX X X XN A H A 00706F BW A S H A B L E F I L T E R 1” X 24” X 25” (6 P A C K )X X X XN A H B 00501F FE X T E R N A L B O T T O MF I L T E R R A C K14” X 25” W A S H A B L E F I L T E R I N C L U D E DXXN A H B 00601F F17−1/2” X 25” W A S H A B L E F I L T E R I N C L U D E DX X XN A H B 00701F F21” X 25” W A S H A B L E F I L T E R I N C L U D E DXXXN A H B 00801F F24−1/2” X 25” W A S H A B L E F I L T E R I N C L U D E DXN A H A 01001F F S I D E F I L T E R R A C K16” X 25” R A C K − F I L T E R N O T I N C L U D E DXXXXXXXXXN A H A 01006F F S I D E F I L T E R P A C K16” X 25” (6 P A C K )XXXXXXXXXN A H B 00101C AC O I L AD A P TE R K I TW I T H N O O F F S E TXXXXXXXXXN A H B 00201C A W I T H S I N G L E O F F S E TXXXXXXXXXN A H B 00301C AW I T H D O U B L E O F F S E TXXXXXXXXXN A H A 01401R AR E T U R N A I R K I T14−3/16” W I D EXXXN A H A 01701R A17−1/2” W I D EX XN A H A 02101R A21” W I D EX X XN A H A 02401R A24−1/2” W I D EXN A H A 001N KC O NDE N S A T E N E U T R A L I Z E R K I TN E U T R A L I Z E S C O N D E N S A T EX X X X X X X X XX A c c e s s o r y a v a i l a b l e †S u i t a b l e f o r s i d e r e t u r n f i l t e r r a c k a n d 17 i n c h e x t e r n a l b o t t o m f i l t e r r a c k .*F a c t o r y a u t h o r i z e d a n d f i e l d i n s t a l l e d . Turning Heating and Cooling System Of f —To use the thermostat to turn the heating and cooling system off, press the mode button until the display shows “off” in the upper left corner.Advanced Programming — The user can customize two different features on the thermostat, the Fahrenheit or Cel-sius display and the backlighting of the thermostat. FAHRENHEIT OR CELSIUS DISPLAY — The thermostat is preset to display the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. The user can change the display to Celsius if desired. To change the display, perform the following procedure:1.Press and hold the mode button for about three seconds.The screen will display a flashing “U1”. Press the mode button and the letter F will flash.2.Press the up or down button on the right to change itfrom F (Fahrenheit) or C (Celsius).3.Press the fan button on the left to exit this screen. BACKLIGHTING — The thermostat can be set to have the backlighting either off or on. To change the backlighting selec-tion, perform the following procedure:1.Press and hold the mode button for about three seconds.The screen will display “U1”and the letter F or C in the center.2.Press the up button once. The display will show a flash-ing “U2”.3.Press the mode button again and the On or Off will flash.4.Press the up or down button located on the right side ofthe display to change it from Off to On or On to Off.5.Press the fan button on the left to exit this screen. Using the Fan — For three-speed fan coils, there are three continuous fan speeds. Pressing the fan button cycles through the following selections, fan low speed (F1), fan medi-um speed (F2) and fan high speed (F3) or fan auto. The fan will operate continuously when in F1, F2 or F3. When the fan is in auto, the fan only runs when the equipment is running. NOTE: If the thermostat is set up as a two-pipe auto fan coil system (2A) with electric heat, it has only two relays to drive the fan speeds so the available fan speeds are either low or high. The display will show “F1” for low fan speed and “F3”for high fan speed. For fan coil applications of either two-pipe cool only or two-pipe auto fan coil systems (2C and 2A), the fan speed is high when the electric heat is energized regardless of the user setting.Auto Changeover — The thermostat displays one of five modes: heat, cool, Em heat, heat cool (auto mode) and off. When the mode selection is in auto mode, the system is allowed to switch from heating to cooling or from cooling to heating to maintain the temperature set points.Unlocking the Keypad — The thermostat is locked when the padlock symbol is shown on the thermostat display.A locked thermostat will inhibit a user from making adjust-ments.The method by which the thermostat is unlocked is config-ured by the installer. Three unlocking options are available:1.The user must simultaneously depress the up and downbuttons for 5 seconds.2.If a set of dashes are displayed, then a four-digit pass codemust be entered by the user.3.The user must simultaneously depress the up and downbuttons for 5 seconds, and then enter a four-digit passcode.Using Emergency Heat — Emergency heat is used when the heat system cannot keep up with demand. If Emer-gency Heat has been configured by the installer, it is used if the primary heat source fails. There is no Emergency Heat option if the thermostat is configured as a four-pipe system. To set the thermostat to use emergency heat, press the mode button until display shows Em Heat in the upper left corner of the display.Power Outage — If the building loses electricity, the thermostat will not need to be reprogrammed. The settings are retained in memory.TROUBLESHOOTINGThere are system error messages that may appear on the thermostat screen. See text below for possible system error messages and their meaning.Space Temperature Sensor Failure — If the space sensor reads less than –50 F or greater than 150 F for 60 consecutive seconds, the sensor is considered failed.If the space temperature sensor fails, the Y1 for all fan coil units and W for fan coil units with Emergency Heat mode set to On, will turn off. The space temperature display shows "- -"and the fan will continue to run.If the space temperature is the average of both the local and remote sensors and one of the sensors fails, the thermostat con-trols the valid sensor only. The display alternates every 10 sec-onds between "- -" for the invalid sensor and the reading from the valid sensor.Fan Error — If the thermostat is in the unoccupied mode, fan auto cannot be changed to continuous fan mode (or F1, F2, F3). An E7 error message will be displayed in the space tem-perature digits for three seconds, but the fan selection will not be changed.Battery Icon — The battery icon appears on the display only when the batteries start to lose power. Replace the batter-ies when one bar is displayed inside the battery shell. If the thermostat is battery powered and the icon is just a silhouette with no black bars, the thermostat will slowly lose functions until it does not work at all.Changing Batteries — The thermostat can be powered by the HV AC equipment or by battery power. If there is no lighting until the user touches a button, it is battery powered.When the thermostat uses electricity, the batteries (if installed) take over if the electricity goes out.When powered by batteries, the thermostat's two AA batter-ies should last about one year. When the batteries have lost about one-third of their power, a battery icon shows up on the display in the upper right corner with two black bars. If two-thirds of battery power is lost, the battery icon will display one black bar. As the batteries get weaker, the icon goes down to one bar and then none. When the battery icon is less than full, backlight function will be lost. When the batteries are com-pletely dead, the thermostat will be unusable.It is recommended that the batteries be replaced at the one bar level with two AA alkaline batteries. Batteries are located in the back of the thermostat, so the thermostat will have to be removed from the wall.2To replace the batteries, perform the following procedure: 1.Locate the latch at the top of the thermostat. The latch islocated at the center of the top rim.2.Press the latch down. This will disconnect the thermostatfrom the top of the wall plate.NOTE: The HV AC equipment will shut down.3.Remove the thermostat from the wall bracket completelyby moving it slightly toward you and lifting it up and off the lip on the lower edge of the wall bracket.4.Set the thermostat face down on a flat surface.
