2015年A类雅思大作文真题

2015年雅思大作文真题2015.1.10The leadersor directors of organizations are often older people. But some people say that young people can also be a leader. What do you think?2015.1.17Some people think that the amount of noise people make have to be controlled strictly, others say that people are free to make as much as they wish. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?2015.1.31Some people argue that too much attention and too many resources are given to the protection of wild animals and birds. To what extent do you agree or disagree?2015.2.7Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists, not local people. Why? What can be done to attract local people?2015.2.12Some people think the best way to improve road safety is to increase the minimum legal age for driving cars and motorcycles. To what extent do you agree or disagree?2015.2.28Some students take one year off between finish school and going to university, in order to travel or to work. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?Sample Answer:An increasing number of students choose to spend one year travelling or working before going to university after they graduate from high schools. Although students can benefit a lot from the experiences in a gap year, its drawbacks cannot be ignored. On prominent advantage of experiencing a gap year is that it helps students to accumulate working experience and have a clear perspective of career development. High schools emphasise academic development, which often makes students perplexed whenthey decide to choose a major in university. If an opportunity can be provided for them to participate in social activities, they will probably be more certain about their choice of major and work. In addition, working or traveling contributes to broadening students’ horizons and enriching their life. They need to live independently and communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds, which is of great value to both their life and work in the future.Despite these advantages, this view still cannot be supported by some parents and teachers. It is worried that students will devote too much to work and travel, and will probably give up their academic development. University is a place where students can acquire knowledge and skills. If they give up a bachelor degree, not only will the academic development be delayed, but also their career development will be negatively influenced. This is because with only a high-school degree, students are less likely to stand out in the employment market. Some graduates with low degrees have to undertake some jobs demanding long time and offering low income. To sum up, taking a gap year before starting university life provides students good opportunities to know more about themselves and the real world. However, if they are indulged in travel or work and abandon their academic task, they might feel regretful soon.2015.3.12Some people think it is important to plant more trees in open areas in towns and cities than build more housing. To what extent do you agree or disagree?主体段第一段:绿色植物光合作用不但能吸收二氧化碳而且能释放氧气。

Answer the questions on each text by choosing A, B, C or D.Five-year-old Elia arrived at school with a big box of colored pencils. Her friend, Anna, offered to exchange her set of markers for the brand-new pencils. Elia agreed, but soon discovered that the markers were dried up. "That´s not fair!" cried Elia to her teacher. "I want my new pencils back." After some tears and negotiation, the teacher helped the girls set things right by returning the items to their original owners.Later that day, at story time, the teacher shared the picture book classic A Bargain for Frances. Though the conflict in the story is just over a broken tea set, the message about fair play was not lost on the children. The book was helpful in exploring a small, yet significant, life lesson.Stories are vital to the way we process and experience life events and the feelings that surround us. The ability to create, share, and respond to stories is one of the vital characteristics of being human. In fact, the human brain is programmed to see patterns and become fascinatedin the plot development of stories, finally storing them in long-term memory. As a result, the brain is a remarkably effective processor of stories, both real and fictional.High-quality picture books are a good blend of art and literature that attracts kids´imagination and communicates an idea in an effective way. These books are perfect teaching tools, as they deal with the powerful emotions that kids feel, model effective coping strategies, and present complex concepts in appropriate ways. In addition, according to brain research, the picture book complements words with what leaves the most permanent impression: images. The pictures in books are distinctive from the fleeting images kids see on television in that they remain on the page, ready to be revisited, touched, and commented upon.Whether we share stories about families, historical events, or emotions, stories are a way to sum up life´s memorable moments and lasting lessons. We can control the power of literature and use it to develop positive character in young kids by reading often, choosing suitable books, and enjoying stories together.第26题Elia cried "That´s not fair!" as she thought that she was ______.A.cheated by her friendB.defeated by her friendC.ignored by her teacherD.scolded by her teacher第27题A Bargain for Frances is intended to teach kids how to ______.A.play fair in lifeanize thingsC.win in conflictsD.write a message第28题According to the text, stories can help kids ______.A.realize their potentialB.improve their memoryC.concentrate on readingD.understand the human world第29题In comparison with pictures in books, television images ______.A.are frequently commented onB.stay temporarily with childrenC.blend art and literature vividlymunicate ideas effectively第30题The power of literature can help kids develop their ______.A.positive characterB.interest in historyC.passion for storiesD.learning strategies上一题下一题(31~35/共10题)ComprehensionDirections:Read the following two texts. Answer the questions on each text by choosing A, B, C or D.We have heard a lot about the health benefits of tea, especially green tea. It is high in polyphenols, compounds with strong antioxidant activity that in test-tube and animal models show anticancer and heart-protective effects. Good clinical studies are few, however, and although physicians tell their patients to drink green tea, there hasn´t been any definite proof of the value of that advice.A team of Japanese researchers was able to link green tea consumption with decreased mortality from many causes—including heart disease. The researchers tracked 40,530 healthy adults ages 40 to 79 in a region of northeastern Japan where most people drink green tea, following them for up to 11 years. Those who drank five or more cups of green tea a day had significantly lower mortality rates than those who drank less than one cup a day. There were also fewer deaths from cardiovascular disease. But no such association was seen with deaths from cancer. Nor was consumption of oolong or black tea connected with any decrease in mortality. Those teas are easier to be combined with oxygen in processing, which not only darkens the color of the leaves and changes their flavor but also reduces their polyphenol content.Coffee is more complicated. It has received both gold stars and black marks in medical literature. It, too, contains antioxidants, although they are less well studied than tea polyphenols. Evidence for the health benefits of coffee is growing, however. A group of investigators from Finland, Italy and the Netherlands reports that coffee seems to protect against age-related decline in mental capacity. The scientists studied 676 healthy men born from 1900 to 1920 and followed them for 10 years, using standardized measures of brain function. Their conclusion: the men who consumed coffee had significantly less decline in mental capacity than those who didn´t. Three cups a day seemed to provide the most protection.Population studies like those help us form assumptions about relationships between dietary habits and long-term health. We still have to test our suppositions in controlled conditions, and measure the effects of coffee and tea on various systems of the body.第31题Physicians often tell their patients to drink green tea because ______.A.its medical value has been provedB.it is believed to be good for one´s healthC.it has long since been used clinicallyD.its effectiveness has been shown in animals第32题The Japanese study seems to have confirmed the positive effect of green tea on ______.A.young adultsn peopleC.patients with cancerD.patients with heart disease第33题The text indicates that black tea differs from green tea in that ______.A.it can retain the color of its leavesB.it can reduce cancer-related deathsC.it contains less polyphenol contentD.it is stronger in flavor than the latter第34题Coffee is beneficial to one´s health because ______.A.it has more antioxidants than green teaB.it slows down the rate of brain agingC.it lowers the rate of natural mortalityD.it keeps systems of the body active第35题The text indicates that the relationships between dietary habits and long-term health ______.A.are a falsely perceived suppositionB.are a conflicting issue among peopleC.deserve further scientific researchD.deserve to be tested on a larger population上一题下一题(36~40/共5题)ComprehensionDirections:Read the texts from a magazine article in which five people talk about tipping in a restaurant. For questions 36-40, match the name of each person to one of the statements (A-G) given below. Jennifer:In your article about online shopping being the newest and easiest way to shop, you said that computers will replace shopping malls sooner or later because they make buying things faster and cheaper. But don´t you think that the entire point of shopping is to spend leisure time with friends while doing something necessary. Shopping is not just a quick task. It is, in fact, an entire way of life.Paul:I am a great collector of all manner of hard-to-find items such as out-of-print books and antiques. Purchasing in physical stores would mean round-the-world travel and years of effort. I can get the same result in a few hours on eBay, and often at bargain prices. I am quite well-off, but buy very few consumer items available in regular shops. I have many friends and acquaintances with the same approach.Mike:My wife buys online often. I have not heard complaints or dissatisfaction. She can compare with different online vendors´ prices after she has decided what she wants. It´s delivered to the door, a big time savings and gas savings. If I need something, I check online first and see what it costs and then decide where to buy, local stores or online. Online has the advantage most of the time.Henry:Virtually all online stores make you register. But, I don´t need another username and password to remember. I will only buy online if I cannot find something locally. Even though shipping is fast, I´d rather drive across town and pay more to be able to bring home a new gadget the same day. And, most of the time, there is no difference in price between local stores and online stores.Jeff:If you think the prices are the same online as they are locally, you´re dealing with the wrongonline retailers. I´m an online shopping veteran and I always save quite a bit on my large-dollar purchases. With a little research experience, I´ve easily saved thousands of dollars over the last several years. Besides, shipping on most items is reasonable and you don´t even pay taxes 99.9% of the time.StatementsA. I´ll buy online only when I have to.B. You can enjoy steep discounts with most online sellers.C. I shift between buying on or off line depending on what suits me.D. Shopping is not only a necessary task but a sociable pleasure.E. Online selling helps to satisfy my special needs in buying.F. Buying online is far from being as good as it is boasted to be.G. On credit, of course.__41__"Pay me whenever you like," said Effie, climbing back into her truck. All pretense of payment was dropped when our funds, food and fuel decreased to alarming lows. Effie came often, always bringing some gift: a jar of peaches or some firewood. There were other generosities. Our baby was not doing well, so Effie financed my wife´s trip to New York for consultation with a specialist.__42__ Her income, derived from investments she had made while running an interior decorating shop, had never exceeded $ 200 a month, which she supplemented by selling her apples. But she always managed to help someone poorer.Years passed before I was able to return the money Effie had given me from time to time. She was ill now and had aged rapidly in the last year. "Here, darling," I said, "is what I owe you." "Don´t give it to me all at once," she said. "__43__" I think she believed there was magic in the slow discharge of a love debt. The simple fact is that I never repaid the whole amount to Effie, for she died a few weeks later.__44__But a curious thing began to happen.Whenever I saw a fellow human in financial trouble, I was moved to help him. I can´t affordto do this always, but in the ten years since Effie´s death, I have indirectly repaid my debt to her.The oddest part of the whole affair is that people whom I help often help others later on.__45__So the account can never be marked closed, for Effie´s love will go on in hearts that have never known her.A. "We were crossing a ridge that dropped off 8,000 feet on both sides," says the 53-year-old climber of ascending Mount Everest last spring. "The wind was blowing at 60 miles an hour. If there was ever a moment to panic, this was it. "But she didn´ t. An hour later, she reached the peak—the last step in her personal challenge to scale the highest mountains on all seven continents.Ten years earlier, she´ d come face-to-face with a different type of fear, when she was unable to feel anything in the right side of her body. After learning she had multiple sclerosis(MS)—a serious illness that gradually makes a person weak and unable to move or see, she left her marriage, job, and home: "I ran from my whole life. "It was just before climbing South America´s Mount Aconcagua in 2000 that she set her sights on the Seven Summits. After training by pulling 50-pound bags of dog food up the ski slopes near her home, she topped Europe´ s Mount Elbrus in 2002, North America´ s McKinley in 2006, and Australia´ s Kosciuszko and Antarctica´ s Vinson Massif in 2008. She´ d scaled Africa´ s Kilimanjaro in 1993. That left Asia´s Everest, the highest of all.And there she stood, on a ridge at 28,800 feet. "When I trained, I told myself to take one step at a time by spelling out words," she says. "So I spelled out ´ Don´t let fear in. ´ " It got her to the top. She´ s the first person with MS to conquer the Seven Summits. With her condition stable, she plans a return to Kilimanjaro—this time with 15 others with MS by her side.___________上一题交卷交卷答题卡答案及解析(1~5/共10题)Listening ComprehensionDirections: This section is designed to test your ability to understand spoken English. Typically, the legal age to drive alone needs to be 17 or so, but there is aproposal, underpinned by some groups. It is fairly hard to imagine that home has become the only place of safety in modern society, where residents are worried about various kinds of crimes, street robbery, car theft and even shooting. This is obligation of the government to protect the civil life and work, which, I think, could be classified into three aspects.First, deterring potential crimes is considered as a direct way to improve living environment for residents. Some strict laws and regulations should be imposed on specific crime cases. For example, prolonging the term of imprisonment could be an effective way to deter crimes, like theft and robbery. Also, lowering the minimum crime age on punishment is another solution to ordinary crimes because younger criminals are liable to escape from punishments.Second, the high rate of crimes is derived partly from the widening gap of living in cities. Therefore, creating more job opportunities after investing in manufactures and public services could, to some degree, bring about stable incomes. Reduction in the number of the homeless and unemployed contributes to decline in the level of social chaos and conflicts. When everyone is satisfied with the company they work for and the salary they are paid, there may be no need for them to risk committing crimes.Third, popularity of primary and secondary education or opening more technical schools is an urgent task. People who live in slums with minimum education more probably commit crimes than those with decent education and comparatively higher social status. Therefore, the level of education reflects living condition and public security in communities, which for a long term is regarded as the foundation of civilized society. In conclusion, there are plenty of solutions to crimes and social problems, which depend on effectiveness of activities and continuous efforts from both government and individuals.相关词汇Street robbery街道抢劫Car theft 偷车Obligation责任Classify分类Deter震慑Be imposed on强加于Prolong延长Imprisonment关监狱Be liable to 易于做某事Be derived from 由而产生Social chaos社会混乱Conflict冲突Slum贫民窟Decent体面的Comparatively相对而言地雅思作文:犯罪原因与处理范文解析写作题目Should criminals be sent to prison or should they do something else as a punishment? Explain your opinion and give your reason. You should write at least 250 words. You should use your own ideas of knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.范文In recent years, a growing number of people have begun to challenge against the existing practice of sending criminals toprison. They argue that the law offenders should be punished to do something for the public. In my opinion, however, they should be locked up in prisons.First of all, it can ensure a safe and comfortable living environment to the law-abiding citizens. For criminals like thieves, robbers, rapists or even murderers, it is improper or even dangerous to let them out of jails, because they still pose threat to our society. Just as an old saying goes, Mercy to the criminal may be cruelty to the people. The imprisonment of criminals not only punishes the criminals but also deters the potential criminals. It will make would-be criminals think twice before they commit a crime. Researches reveal that there is a direct link between the implementation of imprisoning criminals and the decline of crime rate. Without the practice, the world would be in great chaos and full of blood and violence. Some people may say that the practice lays heavy financial burden on the government. In fact, if the police want the behaviour of the criminals to be under control, they have to spend more money and time in supervising the criminals after they are set free. Furthermore, once the criminals commit crimes again, it will take the police much trouble to catch them. In addition, the loss and the damage to the victims will be irreparable. From what I mentioned above, it is not difficult to draw a conclusion that criminals should be imprisoned in jails and receive compulsory reclaim.雅思写作真题及解析:解决犯罪问题,教育比监狱更有效吗“In many countries, prison is the most common solution to the problem of crime. However, another effective way is toprovide people with better education so that they can not become criminals. To what extent do you agree or disagree?”本题是2012年5月12日的原题重现。

This event occurred during middle school, and I still remember it vividly to this very day.A/B: It was a reading class and we were asked to bring some books or magazines to class. I picked my favorite magazine and put it into my backpack. However, when I left for the school, I picked up the wrong bag. I did not check my bag until the teacher told us to start reading. Then I knew what happened and how careless I was. I looked through my bag and desk but couldn’t find any available reading material, which made it rather difficult to spend the next 45 minutes.A/B: I had no other choice but to borrow one from my classmate. I turned to my seatmate who shared the same table with me, and was usually very kind, whether he had extra books. To my surprise, he brought many magazines that day and was willing to lend one magazine that happened to be my favorite. With this magazine, I was very happy during reading class.A/B: It was kind of embarrassing for me, that I had to borrow a magazine, but it makes me glad to know there is always someone who is willing to lend a helping hand when others are in need. If somebody wishes to borrow from me in an emergency, I will be sure to lend them whatever they need.- 2 -A 小孩子逗你笑的经历and, sometimes, this naiveté can have humorous consequences. This topic makes me remember my nephew who had me laughing so hard, I thought I would cry. I would like to share the experience with you.A: My nephew is a very cute little boy. Last year, when I was looking after him, he suddenly advised he was going to sing a song for me. Then he stood up in the center of the living room and sang a popular children song as loudly as he could. Although he made several mistakes in singing, he was really serious and tried to do his best. After he finished, he eagerly asked my opinion of his performance.A: I was amused by his performance and couldn’t stop laughing. In my eyes, my nephew was so young that he needed a lot of care and love. But he tried so hard to act as if an adult and make me feel proud of him. The more serious he was, the funnier it felt to me. Besides, his voice was really cute and I loved it so much.A: My nephew's actions demonstrate the fact that kids can be real comical. He deserves a reward for being so funny or at least for giving me such a pleasant memory to lift my spirits during a dull time.- 3 -A 发出噪音的地方B 友好相待不喜欢的人的经历we don't like and to put up with their bad habits. Unfortunately, I happened to have such a terrible experience when I was in a restaurant for lunch. A customer kept making noise regardless of my protest. But I still had to treat him nicely.A/B: I met this customer at my favorite restaurant where I usually had lunch with my colleagues. However, when I went to the restaurant as usual with one friend, this customer was sitting beside us and kept making loud noises. I wanted to chat a little with my friend but we could hardly hear each other due to the noise he made. To make matters worse, he was quarreling with someone on the phone and cursing all the time. Some words were so impolite that we wished we didn’t have to hear them.A/B: This man`s behavior really influenced our mood. All we hoped to do was to finish this lunch as soon as possible so that we can finally get rid of him. I got mad at first and thought about reminding this man to behave himself. But after I saw how angry and sad this man was, I guessed that he was suffering from some bad news and we should forgive him. So in the end, I did not say anything and even left some tissue for this manto wipe his tears.A/B: Actually I was irritated by the noise made by this customer, but I still reconciled with him in the end. In retrospect, I congratulated myself for being nice to him. You know, we have to maintain a good interpersonal relationship for various reasons. It’s necessary.- 4 -A 穿着时尚的人B 国外名人C 新闻里的名人to my mind right away is Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone who is a famous actor. For my money, he has the best sense of style among celebrities. I simply love to watch him appearing on stage because he really stands out from the crowd.A/B/C: Stallone has performed in many action movies. He rose to fame swiftly due to his excellent performance as a tough guy and powerful soldier. Probably because ofthis, he used to show up wearing a white vest and exposed his strong arms. Moreover, he liked to wear a black jacket and long pants like a cowboy. Now as he is getting older, he is wearing more serious clothes. On many formal occasions, he usually wears black suits and white shirts.A/B/C: In my opinion, Stallone is a man who knows how to show his best side and attracts others` attention. He was very strong when he was young. So he shows his beautiful muscles all the time and appears on the screen as a powerful hero who can save the lives of ordinary people, especially those of beautiful woman. As he gets older, he uses more delicate suits to show his maturity.A/B/C: I know other people might argue that Stallone is not the best dresser, but they just don't know what they're talking about. Stallone has really inspired me with his supreme fashion sense. People who don't appreciate his look are just haters.- 5 -A 参加的付费工作B 需要早起的经历C 成功的事情D 和团队一起做的事happened when I was a sophomore student. I had to get up at 5 o`clock in the morning to go to a paid job as a tour guide. Until that day, I had no idea how difficult it was to get out ofbed that early in the morning.C/D: I have made a few achievement in the past, but the most unforgettable one for me was when I worked as a tour guide when I was a sophomore student with my teammates. I remember my companions and I pulled ourselves together and it was such an unusual experience for us.A/B/C/D: I worked as a tour guide and this required that I had to get up early in the morning at five o`clock so that we could pick up tourists on time and make full preparations. It was still dark outside when we left for the airport and I did not have any time for breakfast. After meeting groups of tourists, I led one group to our destination and presented all the information about the place. They were curious about everything and I answered all kinds of questions from time to time. I felt really nervous at first since it was my first paid job, but I soon got used to my work and in the end did a great job.A/B/C/D: This experience was really valuable. I became so tired and had a sore throat after work, but I felt so proud of myself. Not only did I earn some money for my hard work, but also I learned how to deal with different people and how to provide them what they needed.A/B/C/D: Now thinking back, the taste of success had given me great satisfaction. Although I had to sacrifice my sleep for the job, the outcome was totally worth it. I guess that's why they say, ‘no pain, no gain’ and now I fully understand this saying.- 6 -A 和朋友意见不合B 重要的谈话C 最近开心的事in college. At that time, my opinions clashed with my roommate’s. Fortunately, we then had a heart -to-heart talk, and finally reconciled with each other. I'm so glad that this event actually solidified our friendship, rather than destroying it.A/B/C: My roommate and I were pretty good friends. But after he got addicted to computer games, our friendship was seriously challenged. He began to stay in the dorm all the day, and played computer games for 16 hours on end, instead of doing exercises and taking his classes as most student do. I was really worried about him, and advised him to go to class. He did not listen to me at all, and even got mad at me.A/B/C: He said that I should stay away from his personal business. But as his friend, I decided to try to persuade him, no matter what he said. I contacted with teacher and his parents to come talk with him. Also, I borrowed many books to help him study. At last, he was moved by my actions, and quit computer games completely.A/B/C: It's unavoidable to be at odds with friends at times, but we can usually solve the problem via a small talk. That's a good thing, right?- 7 -A 关于健康生活的文章B 保持健康的活动C 放一天假想做的事to surfing. Surfing is vital for me to keep fit, so I seize every chance I can to go surfing. If I had a one-day holiday, I would devote it to surfing.C: Now I'd like to talk about an article I read in a sports magazine. Although my memory about its details has faded away, the sport it introduced to help you keep fit, surfing, is still fresh in my mind. The article also gave detailed information about surfing, including its history, methods, and features. A/B/C: Surfing is a surface water sport, in which the wave rider, referred to as a surfer, rides on the forward or deep face of a moving wave, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Waves suitable for surfing are primarily found in the ocean, but can also be found in lakes or rivers, in the form of a standing wave or tidal bore. However, surfers can also utilize artificial waves, such as those from boat wakes, and the waves created in artificial wave pools. A/B/C: Every time after I go surfing on the sea, I am filled with energy and excitement. Surfing is a sport that can let you forget all your stress and trouble. Instead, you need to focus on surfing itself, to keep balance and fight against strong waves. Vacation is the best chance for me to feel relaxed, and surfing is the best choice for a vocational activity.A/B/C: People in today's world are so busy that they fail to set aside time for sports. For me, however, doing exercise is necessary. I will form the habit to keep surfing, as long as I get any opportunity.- 8 -A 花时间挑选的礼物B 想买的电子设备I tend to keep my mind on my money, and my money on my mind. A/B: My sister is leaving home for college in a few days, and I wanted to give her something special as a present. My sister is a very good student, and she likes digital products very much. A MacBook will help her to finish homework quickly, and keep in contact with friends, as well as family members. Moreover, she likes her iPhone and iPod very much, but she cannot buy too many Apple products herself, due to the high prices. So a laptop produced by Apple Company will surely make her happy.A/B: The more I know about the MacBook, the more I hope to buy one for myself as well. I have to deal with a lot of work on my personal computer every day. But my laptop was bought several years ago, and it breaks down from time to time, which is really frustrating. A MacBook can make my work more convenient, and improve my efficiency.A/B: Modern products like MacBooks add some spice to life. I was totally amazed at what they could do when I first saw one. I can't say that it's one of life's necessities, but I think life would be boring without it.A 迷路的经历B 遇见某人的惊喜incident that happened in middle school. To say I'm not great with directions would be an understatement. I was as lost as a babe in the woods, but, thankfully, my neighbor saved my bacon.A/B: I went to the botanical garden to see an exhibition that day. The exhibition was great, and I saw many precious species and learned a great deal. However, when I decided to go home, I found myself get lost in the vast garden and thick crowd. To make matters worse, I lost my map, and my cellphone's battery ran out. I tried to ask for others people's help, but I could not remember which exit I should go to. A/B: Luckily, my neighbor who also went to the exhibition that day encountered me. He was ready to go home, too. I followed my neighbor, and found the right direction. Then we went to home together, and shared our experience in the exhibition. I was nervous at first, because we seldom talked to each other before. But after chatting with him along the way, we found we shared a lot in common, and could make good friends.A/B: It was a bit of a shock to run into my neighbor when I least expected to see him. I'm so grateful for his timely arrival, because I don't know how I would have found my way without him.A 理想的居所place of my own. My ideal residence is a house located along the coast, so it has a sea view. Now let me tell you all about my dream house, and all its details. A: My house will be a fabulous, modern, new construction, ideally situated on the coastline, and positioned directly next to the beach. Most rooms will be orientated around large windows, and as the main living rooms will be on the first floor, this will allow them to take full advantage of the fantastic views across the bay. The house will also feature modern decor and furnishings, the rooms will be light and airy, and this will make this house both stylish and cozy.A: Considerable in size, there will be many rooms, so that my parents, many of my relatives and I could live together. There will be three floors. The first floor will be for public use, such as a living room, kitchen and dining room, where anyone can use and meet each other. The second floor will be personal rooms, and everyone will have a separate room to live in. The third floor will be for special use, such as entertainment, relax and sports.A: I can nearly imagine myself living there in the future. A/B/C: Starbucks is the place I visit the most for relaxing and reading my favourite book called How to Make Steel. Once a week, I like to sit in this particular wooden chair by the huge French window while enjoying a cup of cappuccino as the sun slowly warms up the seat. The Starbucks I go to is quite large with two stories. The lighting is great in the cafe and the music choice is also amazing. As light jazz slowly plays in the background, people come in and out for various purposes, such reading books, having meetings, or simply for killing time.A/B/C: I like going to Starbucks in the morning when it’s less c rowded. The moment I step into the cafe, the aroma of coffee surrounds me and I sit down to spend the entire morning reading lazily. The coffee is rather expensive; however, the price factor doesn’t stop people from coming. I am satisfied with the arrangem ent and the comfortable atmosphere Starbucks provides its customers in which I can relax and read a few pages of a book once in a while. Over time, having a cup of coffee in Starbucks with a book in my hand has become my favourite way to relax. A/B/C: Well, I hope you are tempted to pay a visit someday after my description. Trust me. If you go once, you will become a regular customer. In fact, I think the city would be a much happier place if there were more places like Starbucks. Maybe I should open a chain!A 想重温的外国电影B 看过的电影C 最喜欢的照片或图片I'd like to watch again. My favorite, the one that I can watch again and again, isLéon. I can still remember going to see the movie in high school because I was so struck by the movie poster on my way into the theater.C: Speaking of this, a movie poster comes to my mind straightaway. It is a poster of the movie Léon, and I first watched it in high school. In fact, I was so enamored by the poster in the cinema that I didn't want to walk away.A/B/C: On the poster there is the main character, the killer, walking on the right hand side. He is holding a plant in one arm, and a gun in the other. Next to him is his adopted little girl wearing shorts and boots. A/B: Well, I hope my description of the movie has you psyched to watch it yourself. I believe Léon really demonstrates ideals of the culture where it comes from, and I think that's why I like it so much. C: I hope my description of the poster helped to paint a picture in your mind. I happen to know such a successful small advertisement company, and it's owned by my uncle. Now let me share it with you. C: The advertisement company, owned by my uncle, is a huge success. If you pay attention to the advertisement on TV these days, over half of them were designed and made by his company. But the company does more than that. Besides designing and shooting advertisements, the company also has set up its own creative arts school to provide chances for talented advertisement designers to study and improve themselves so they can be better prepared for the workplace.A/B: Speaking of advertisement companies that are legends in the industry, my uncle’s company has to be mentioned. He started from the bottom with absolutely no resources, and has climbed his way to the top of his industry. Because of this, my uncle has become my role model and I hope I can work with him. Because of his company, the advertisement industry has gained so much support and attention of the society and a lot of gifted young people have made up their mind to start their own businesses as well.A/B/C: My uncle is such an outstanding person that he is my role model. Singapore, which is an ideal destination for me, is known for its beautiful streets and strict law. My relatives are in Singapore, one of the reasons why I want to visit. Then the construction of the Olympics Park just suits this need.B: The Olympics Park, as you can tell by its name, was built for the world famous Olympics Games in Beijing. Task 1
The bar chart shows the information about the favourite subjects of 60 students from 2 schools, school A and school B.

The bar chart shows the students’major preference between school A and school B. The optional subjects are social science, science, language, sport and craft & drawing.
In school A, more than half of the students (36) chose sport as their favourite subject, compared with 5 in school B. By contrast, the rest subjects are all not very popular among students in school A.
In school B, 25 students enjoyed craft and drawing, which was more than five times as many as the students number in school A.(4). Also, the figure in language came second in school B, roughly reaching 18 and narrowly beating social science into third place. In addition, no matter in school A or school B, students were not quite interested in social science and science, with less than 10 persons in both.
Overall, students in school A and school B had different major preference. Students in school A liked sport the most and disliked craft and drawing while students in school B were more fond of craft and drawing taut were not much crazy about science.
Task 2
题目:
Many people are afraid to leave their homes because of their fear of crime. Some people believe that more actions should be taken to prevent crime, but others feel that little can be done. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

With a rapid increase of crime, more citizens are scared of aggressive acts all over the world. As to whether more measures can be taken to stop crime, there is an endless debate. From my personal view, although more actions cannot fully guarantee the security of the whole society, it is not the reason for which people can surrender to violence.
Clearly, actions such as enacting more strict laws and legislations can effectively curb the frequency of crime. Fearing punishment is usually the nature of humans, so when they are informed of the consequence of committing crimes, they are more prone to stop doing anti-social acts. In addition, providing moral education contributes to raise people<
s safety awareness and consequently prevents crime. As the Internet prevails, information about laws and legislations are more achievable, and thus there is a possibility that people are given more opportunities to learn how to distinguish right from wrong.
However, feasible measures are still not a panacea to the establishment of a completely safe society. If governments fail to guarantee a basic living standard for their citizens, crime rate will hardly be controlled. It is widely believed that a decent job and sufficient disposable income can reduce the possibility of committing socially unacceptable behaviour. The insecurity of society can also be attributed to the fact that it is less possible for governments to eradicate all factors leading to crime. Illegal drugs and alcohol are more accessible than before. People may have to commit crimes in order to get these items.
To conclude, reasonable actions including making severe policies and offering education are of great help to control criminal events. However, they may still not be able to ensure a secure living environment for people if fundamental needs of materials cannot be fulfilled.
