Module 3 Journey to space
一、学习目标:
1.知识与技能：掌握本模块中关于宇宙及航天的词汇;掌握现在完成时的用法;能听懂有
关太空旅行的介绍;能够介绍人类对太空的探索经历;能够读懂有关太空话题的文章,掌握文章大意;能够写出有关人类探索太空的段落。

2.情感态度：培养创新精神，拓展视野；培养爱国主义精神，激发对航天事业的兴趣。

3.学习策略：能够根据自己的情况预习教材和拓展；能够与同学交流学习心得体会，共
享学习策略。

二、重点及难点: 现在完成时的构成和用法（2）
现在完成时表示过去发生或已经完成的某一动作对现在造成的影响或结果。

通常与表示包括现在在内的时间副词just，already, before, yet, never, ever等状语连用。

例如：
①It is a new one. I have never heard of that before.
②Have you ever ridden a horse?
③She has already finished the work.
④Have you milked the cow yet? Yes, I have done that already.
⑤I’ve just lost my science book. I remember I put it here just a moment ago. But it isn’t
here.

Tony: Hi Daming, I've just made this model of the space station. What do you think?
Daming: It's great. Is this for your space travel homework? I haven't started it yet.
Tony: Don't panic! Ms James wants it next week. Have you heard the latest news? Some scientists have sent a spacecraft to Mars. It has taken several months to get there.
Daming: Has it arrived yet?
Tony: Yes, it has. That's why it's on the news.
Daming: And have the astronauts discovered life on Mars?
Tony: No, not yet. There aren't any astronauts in the spacecraft. Daming: But astronauts have already been to the moon.
Tony: Yes, but no one has been recently. But lots of astronauts have worked on the space station. They take the space shuttle, and go there and back.
Daming: You know a lot about space travel. Can I show your space station to my parents?
Tony: But I hear they've gone to Shanghai on business.
Daming: Oh, they're coming back this evening. I'd like to show it to them.
Tony: All right, you can borrow it. But bring it back tomorrow.

Step 2 Read the passage and choose the best title.
Scientists think that there has been life on Earth for millions of years. However, we haven't found life on other planets yet. Why not?
The Earth is a planet and it goes around the Sun. Seven other planets also go around the Sun. None of them has an environment with air, so people and things cannot grow. The Sun and its planets are called the solar system. The solar system is a small part of our galaxy.
The stars we see at night are the suns in other solar systems. There are more than 200 billion stars in our galaxy, called the Milky Way, and our Sun is only one of them.
But scientists have discovered many other galaxies in the universe. They are a long way away and their light has travelled for many years to reach us. It is hard to understand how large the universe is.
Scientists have sent lots of spacecraft to look at other planets in our solar system, and some spacecraft have gone beyond the solar system. However, no one has discovered any life in space yet.
But why has no one from other planets sent us a message? Have they tried to send information to us? With so many stars in the universe, are we alone, or is there life out there in space? We don't know ... yet.
