BMW(宝马)是Bayerische Motoren Werke的缩写,意思是“巴伐利亚发动机厂”。

英文是Bavarian Motor Works。

宝马也被译为“巴依尔”。

几十年后,BMW的全称有了另一种解释——Business、Money、Woman(事业、金钱、女人)。

1994年宝马集团收购了英国陆虎汽车公司(RoverGroup)宝马于1998年购买了英国的劳斯-莱斯轿车有限公司。

劳斯莱斯汽车公司(Rolls—Royce)是以一个“贵族化”的汽车公司享誉全球的。
