Here are the important components on the board:(1) - Terminal Block for Power & Output connections(2) - Single Turn Potentiometer to adjust Emissivity in tenths (0.x_)(3) - Single Turn Potentiometer to adjust Emissivity in hundreds (0._x)(4) -Slide switch to select between real time (Normal Operation) and alarm set point(5) - Alarm set point adjust, P4(6) - Sensor Head connection(7) - Input Zero adjust, P3(8) - Input Span adjust, P2(9) - Output Zero adjust, P5(10) - Output Span adjust, P6Figure 3-1. Main PC Board3.2Ambient TemperatureThe Sensing head can operate in an ambient temperature of 0 to 70°C (32to 158°F). The Sensing head in the high temperature model (-HT) can operate in an ambient temperature of 0 to 85°C (32 to 185°F) without any cooling required. The Sensing head can operate up to 200°C (392°F) using the water cool jacket accessory OS100-WC (See Fig. 3-6).There is a warm up period of 3 minutes after power up. After the warm up period, temperature measurement can be made. When the ambient temperature around the sensor head changes abruptly, the sensor head goes through thermal shock. It takes a certain amount of time for the sensor head to stabilize to the new ambient temperature. For example, it takes about 30 minutes for the sensor head to stabilize going from 25°C to 50°C (77 to 122°F) ambient temperature. The sensor head dimensions are shown in Fig. 3-2.Figure 3-2. Sensor Housing3-23-33.3Atmospheric QualityEnvironments with smoke, dust, and fumes dirty up the optical lens, and cause erroneous temperature readings. To keep the surface of the optical lens clean, the air purge collar accessory is recommended, OS100-AP , See Fig. 3-7.3.4Measuring TemperatureBefore starting to measure temperature, make sure that the following check list is met:ߜ The power and analog output connections are made (Fig. 2-1).ߜThe sensor head is connected to the main unit.ߜThe slide switch (SW1) on the main board is set to real time (Fig. 3-1).ߜThe target is larger than the optical field of view of the sensor head (Fig. 3-3).ߜThe emissivity adjustment on the main board is set properly (Fig. 3-1).ߜThe output load is within the product specification. On OS102 transmitters, follow these additional steps:ߜ The temperature display is set to °F or °C (Fig. 3-4)ߜ For 4-20mA output models, make sure an output load is added, ie. 250ohms.Figure 3-3. Optical Field Of ViewFigure 3-4. Setting the Temperature Engineering Unit3.5Alarm SettingThe unit provides 0-100% alarm set point adjustment. Here is an exampleof an alarm setting.• An OS101-MA(4/20 mA output), the alarm is to be set at 400°Ftemperature.• Connect the alarm output as shown in Fig. 2-2.• Set the slide switch (SW1) on the main board to the Alarm position.• Measure the analog output, and set the Potentiometer P4 until theoutput reads 10.4 mA which is 40% (400°F) of the temperature range.40 x (20-4)[10.4mA=+ 4]100• Set the slide switch (SW1) back to the Real Time position.• If the temperature reading is below the alarm set point, the alarmoutput stays high, otherwise it goes low.On the OS102, you can set the alarm set point directly based on thetemperature display.3.6Adding Extension CableYou can add extension cable between the Sensor Head and the mainelectronic housing up to 15.2 m (50 feet). After adding the extension cable, the Zero input potentiometer, P3 may be re-adjusted. (See Fig. 3-1, forproper analog output reading)The following figures show the mounting bracket (OS100-MB), Watercooling jacket (OS100-WC), Air purge collar (OS100-AP), DIN RailMounting adapter (OS-100-DR), and the main aluminum enclosure. Instruction on Centering Phase Contrast and Dispersion Staining Condenser and Properly Achieving Koehler illuminationFor Meiji Techno America models MT6130, MT6120, MT6820, MT6830Step 1: Need to align the ring slip when using dispersion staining objective. Please find attached sim-ple manual belowStep 2: When dispersion staining objective is used, only polarizer have to engage. Analyzer must re-move from the slot.(Also check the prepared sample slide if it was expired because that can change the colour as it use reflective index 1.550 that has an expiry date.)How to get proper color with Chrysotile Sample•Make sure rotatable swing out polarizer located on the lamp house is properly made the orientation in cross polar.•Make the condenser alignment. Then you will get a right blue and magenta colour.Note: Please note that stage is not centerable, instead of the stage use two short drivers to center the ob-jective from the nosepiece. Strain free objective 10X in fix position and objectives must install in centerable nosepiece position.Note: Please refer to the Section 1.0 to center the objectives and Section 2.0 to adjust the koehler light on the next pages of this manual.1.0 Centering the ObjectivesWhen objectives are not centered, specimens may leave the field of view when rotating the stage. Perform the steps below if objectives are not centered properly:1. Before starting, make sure that the 10X objective is installed in the fixed hole of the nosepiece. This is the position that does NOT have centering screws. All objectives will be adjusted against the 10X position.2. Make sure the Bertrand Lens, the analyzer and any other sliders are clear of the optical pathand the iris on the illuminator is open all the way.3. Use a small grain or some type of target and place it in the center of the field of view with the10X objective and bring it into focus as shown below in “A”.4. Center the target by rotating the stage and evaluatng how centered the target appears.5. Once the target is centered, move to the next highest objective and insert the centering keysinto the nosepiece for that position.6. Bring the specimen again into focus and note its position in the field of view.7. Rotate the stage until the target moves farthest away from the crossline at the as shown belowin “D” (Position 1).8. Adjust the centering screws on the nosepiece until the target is midway between Position 1 andthe crossline as shown in “D”9. Rotate the stage and evaluate centricity. One may need to repeat this procedure until the targetstays in the center of the crossline when the stage is rotated (“D”).Repeat these steps for all other objectives in the nosepiece. To maintain centering, it is important that objectives be handled very gently and only touched on the knurled portion when changing objectives.2.0 Achieving Koehler Illumination• Turn on the miscroscope Power switch and set the illumination to a comfortable level.• Establish one field of view by adjusting the inter-pupillary distance of the Siedentopf viewing head.• Make sure that the Bertrand Lens, analyzer and any other sliders are clear of the optical path and that the iris diaphragm on the condenser is all the way open.• Rack up the condenser to its highest position or until the top element of the condenser is approximately 1mm below the bottom of the slide.• Place a familiar specimen on the stage. Using the 10X objective, bring the specimen into focus.• While viewing the specimen, close down the field diaphragm just enough so that the inner edge of the iris leaves are visible as shown in figure “A”.• Use the condenser focusing knob to slightly lower the condenser to bring the edge of the iris leaves into sharp focus as shown in figure “B”.• By using the two condenser centering screws, adjust the iris opening so it is centered in the middle of the field of view as shown in figure “C”.• Open up the field diaphragm so that it just clears the edge of the field of view as shown in figure “D”.After slidinging into corresponding objectivemagnification such as Dispersion 10X orU plan Phase 40X, remove one eyepiece, replace with Centering Teclescope, then usingtwo centering screws, please align the ring slitto match the phase plate of the objectives.Centering screwsPush left for10X DispersionPush right forPhase 40XTECHNO Saitama 354-0043, JapanInstruction on centering phase contrast and dispersion staining condenserTECHNOSaitama 354-0043, JapanCentering screwsPush left for 10X DispersionPush right for Phase 40XAfter slidinging into corresponding objective magnification such as Dispersion 10X or U plan Phase 40X, remove one eyepiece, replace with Centering Teclescope, then using two centering screws, please align the ring slit to match the phase plate of the objectives.。
EM-30系列双目立体镜与变倍镜指南说明书
Table of Contents1) Introduction2-3) Construction of the microscope 4-5) Functions of the microscope 6) Preparing the microscope for use 7-9) Working with the microscope 10-11) Maintenance and cleaningIntroductionWith your purchase of a EM-30 (zoom) stereo microscope you have chosen for a quality product. The EM-30 is developed for use at schools, and by collectors of minerals, stamps etc.The stereo microscope consists of two separate microscope tubes which are combined as a unit, in order to focus them simultaneously on the object. Each tube has prisms, achromatic objectives and a widefield eyepiece in order to obtain a large, flat field of view. Both eyes are looking at the object under a different angle to reach a deep stereoscopic image. The maintenance requirement is limited when using the microscope in a decent manner. This manual describes the construction of the microscope, how to use the microscope and maintenance of the microscope.Construction of the Microscope The names of the several parts are listed below andare indicated in the picture on the next page:A) Photo tube with focussing (trinocular models)B) Carrying HandleC) Connector indicdent illuminatorD) Focusing knob(s)E) Intensity controller for incident illuminationF) Stand foot with transmitted illuminationG) EyepieceH) Diopter correctionI) Prism housingJ) Zoom knob(s)K) Objective cover / revolverL) Incident illuminationM) Intensity controller transmitted illumination N) Object clipO) Object plateA C D E F G H IK LOFunctions of the MicroscopeThe stereo microscope consists of a stand with holder/focusing system, in which the stereo head is placed and locked with set screw .Always hold the microscope at its arm and grip when moving it.TubeThe zoom stereo microscope heads of the EM-30 are equipped with a 45 degrees tube, which is rotatable over 360 degrees. Each type has a diopter adjustment ring on both eyepiece tubes.Optical specifications of the MT-30/MT-90 series rangeThe zoom stereo microscopes of the EM-30 are equipped with 2 zoom objectives and a pair of wide field WF10x eyepieces. The stereo microscopes of the EM-30 are equipped with a revolving nosepiece in which 2 pairs of achromatic objectives are mounted, and a wide field WF10x pair of eyepieces. In the tabel below some available models are listed.Eyepieces Objectives Magnifications Execution TubeWF10x1x / 3x10x / 30x binocular45 degreesWF10x2x / 4x20x / 40x binocular45 degreesWF10x0.7x ~ 4.5x7x ~ 45x binocular45 degreesWF10x0.7x ~ 4.5x7x ~ 45x trinocular45 degrees10x100x1000xObject stageThe stand is equipped with an object stage with a semi transparent stage plate (O) and 2 object clips (N).FocusingWith the focusing knobs (D) the object can be sharply focussed.Magnification adjustmentThe zoom stereo microscopes of the EM-30 are equipped with 2 achromatic zoom objectives. By using the zoom knobs (J) the magnification can be adjusted in a smooth, stepless way. Magnification adjustmentThe stereo versions(1/3x or 2/4x) are equipped with 2 pairs of achromatic objectives in a revolving nosepiece (K). By rotating this nosepiece over 180 degrees another magnification is set. Turn the nosepiece untill it clearly “clicks” into position.IlluminationThe stand is equipped with transmitted and incident LED illumination of 3 Watt. The illuminators can be used simultaneously. On the side of the foot the transmitted light intensity can be adjusted with a small wheel (M) (not visible in the picture). At the back of the base the Intensity controller for incident illumination can be found (E).Preparing the Microscope for Use Take the stereo microscope out of its packing and putit on a firm stable table. Connect the power cable to the mains supply and switch on the microscope. Place the eyeshades onto the eyepieces. Sit comfortably down behind the microscope and take a relaxed po-sition while viewing through the eyepieces (G). The third (photo) tube of the trinocular models is packed in the lid of the styrofoam packing. Take it out and place it onto the microscope.Working with the Microscope• Place an object onto the stage plate and adjust the height of the holder randomly with the focussing knobs (D) at the backside of the stand.• Set both diopter adjustment rings(H) to the “O” position• Adjust the interpupillary distance by moving both prism housings (I) towards each other until one round image is seen with both eyes.Setting the eyepieces in order to have a sharp image over the complete zoom range• Set the magnification at the highest position by means of the zoom knob (J) and sharply focus on a flat specimen.• Now bring the magnification down to the lowest position.• First correct the sharpness with only the left hand diopter adjustment ring (H), and than for the right hand one.Photo and videoTaking pictures with an normal or digital SLR camera with the trinocular zoom types is done with the help of microscope adapter set (optional). One can adjust the height of the tube of the trinocular models by turning the ring of the tube in order to reach the same focus point between the the eyepieces and the photo tube. For showing images on a monitor or PC, by means of a CCD or CMOS camera, one needs an optional C-mount adapter . Having the same focal point between eyepieces and the screen is reached by following above mentioned procedure.。
