Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren(贫瘠的) field Frozen only with snow.
Analysis of Dreams
• This is a very brief poem, just two stanzas, eight lines long. Structurally, the poem has a simple rhyme scheme of A,B,C,B.
• Life without dreams is also compared to a barren field, lifeless, without fruit.
• From the poem, we can get the idea that if the black people have no dreams, their life is meaningless. There is no hope for the rising and liberation of the race.
