用电子邮件的方式写你上学英语作文Subject: My English Class and Learning English
Hi Mom and Dad!
I'm writing to tell you all about my English class at school. I know you both really want me to learn English well. English is such an important language and I'm glad we get to start learning it in elementary school.
In English class, we have a really nice teacher named Ms. Johnson. She is really patient with us as we learn. She speaks slowly and clearly so we can understand. She also uses lots of pictures, games, songs and fun activities to help us learn. That makes English class one of my favorite times of the day!
We started out this year learning the English alphabet and how to pronounce each letter. That was a little tricky at first because some of the letters sound pretty different in English than they do in our native language. Like the letter 'R' - we had to practice making that 'rhhhh' sound over and over. Now I've got it down though!
Next, we started learning basic vocabulary words like colors, numbers, animals, classroom objects and foods. I love when we get to play games to practice. Like this funny game where Ms.
Johnson holds up a flashcard with a picture, and we have to raise our hand and say the English word for it. If we get it right, we get a point. I'm getting pretty good at that game!
We also learned how to say basic phrases like "Hello, how are you?", "Thank you", "You're welcome", and more. I practiced saying them with my parents at home too. Doesn't it sound funny when I say "Hey, whassup!" like an American kid?
One of the hardest parts of English is all the weird spellings and pronunciations. Like the word "though" - Ms. Johnson says it doesn't rhyme with "low" even though the letters are the same! So bizarre. And words like "weight" and "sleigh" that have the same letters but sound completely different. English is a crazy language sometimes!
This year we're starting to put words together into simple sentences too. Like "The dog runs fast" or "I like to eat ice cream". We have little practice books where we have to read the sentences and circle the correct picture. It's getting easier for me to read and understand easier sentences when I practice.
We've also started learning the crazy English verb system where you have to add -ed or -ing to words for past or present tense. Like "I walked to school today" versus "I am walking home now". My native language doesn't have that, so it's taking some
getting used to. Sometimes I mix them up, but Ms. Johnson is helping me get it right.
In class, we get to do role plays and skits to practice speaking English together. Last week, we did a fun restaurant skit where I got to play the waiter. I even learned some new vocab words like "menus", "order", and "check please". Speaking it out loud really helps me remember the words and sentences better.
We watch short videos and listen to English songs during class too. It's a great way to get exposed to how native English speakers actually talk. Some of the slang and idioms are pretty funny - like "that's cool" or "it's raining cats and dogs". I'll have to teach you some of the silly English expressions I'm learning!
For writing practice, we've started keeping journals where we write about our daily lives using the English we know so far. It's pretty basic for now like "I got up at 7 AM. I ate eggs for breakfast. I went to school at 8 AM. I had math class..." But it helps reinforce what I'm learning. My journals are a great way for me to practice putting sentences together on my own.
Our homework isn't too bad. We usually just have to do some worksheets or online exercises to practice vocabulary or grammar concepts. Sometimes we have to write out vocabulary words a bunch of times to memorize the spelling. My parents
have also been helping me read some simple English books out loud at home.
Overall, I'm really enjoying English class! It's challenging for sure, but I feel like I'm picking it up pretty well so far. Learning a whole new language isn't easy, but we're taking it step-by-step. The reading, writing, speaking and listening practice we do in all sorts of fun ways during class is helping me improve a little every day.
I feel extra motivated to work hard in English too because I know it will open up so many opportunities for me in the future. I want to be able to communicate with people from all around the world! Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to travel to English-speaking countries and use my skills one day. How cool would that be?
Anyways, I should probably get going and do my English homework now. I'll write again soon! Thanks for encouraging me to stick with my English studies. I'm going to keep practicing hard.
Love,
Your multilingual kiddo。
