人们常说:学习为了提升自我。
也有人对此提出质疑:博学未必有见识,学习那么多也许并没有意义。
这两种观点看似针锋相对,实则并非对立。
“学习能提升自我”此言固然不谬。
荀子曾说:君子博学而日参省乎已,则知明而行无过矣。
直接指出了博学是使人充满智慧,做事避免过错的条件之一。
然而仅仅“博学”真的能使人成为“君子”吗?恐怕不然。
其实从荀子的观点中也可看出端倪,除了博学之外,每天参照“圣人”的标准来反省、审视自己,才能真正提升自我。
事实上,这正是强调将书本上“教条”式的知识有机融入一个人的行为中并逐渐成为习惯,是“知行合一”的最佳诠释:不将自己置身于知识之外,而是将所学所思潜移默化地从外界渗透进自己的灵魂,从而使自己的变得高尚。
有人担心博学者未必有见识,其实这种“忧虑”很大程度来源于现代社会中学习模式与社会进程、人类文明的脱节与剥离。
“两耳不闻窗外事,一心只读圣贤书”便是这种“剥离”的明证。

有人曾说“我把读书当成一次旅行,这样回来的时候便不会依然固我”。
旅行,是人在客体世界中的一次“实践”,是将个体完全置身于外部世界的一个契机。
将读书视为旅行,能使人更真切地感受客体世界中的“山川人文”,使人亲眼见证那些曾经只在文字或图片中被描述的“胜景”,能使每个个体与所处的团体,社会乃至世界连缀成一个整体,真正地提升自我,立足于纷繁的现实世界中。
虽然,“学那么多有何意义”的质疑常常不绝于耳,一方面是担心低质量的学习模式难以真正改变人的灵魂,另一方面则是对于学习重要性的忽视。
但我仍想强调,尤其在高科技泛滥的现代社会中,学习有着不可取代的意义和价值。
虽然现代化设备很大程度方便了人们的学习方式,甚至逐渐取代了原本的记忆、思考这些人类独一无二的职能。
但正因为如此我们更要主动学习——莫让书本或机器设备中的“死知识”限制我们激活它们并将它们服务于现实生活的步伐。
我想,唯有知行合一,将知识与实践相融,并在科技的“大潮”中主动“掌舵”,积极进取,方能使学习真正让人立足!
学习的意义
人们常说学习的意义是提升自我,可是也有人认为博学者未必有见识,读书多的人也未必更高尚,所以学那么多意义何在?
我认为,“学习”这一抽象名词背后其实有几层更具象也更深刻的含义。
我们可以把“学习”分成几个阶段——首先是学习书本上的知识,博览群书,成为一个读书多的博学之人;其次是“读万卷书”之后的“行万里路”,如果是一个只会埋首于学习的人,必定只能是一个一事无成的“书呆子”;最后,也是最重要的一点,是将自己读书、行路之后的所知所见转化为自己的所思所想,这才是真正的学习,将外界的知识体验内化为自身涵养的成长过程。
博学者未必有见识、读书多未必更高尚——确实如此,但我们不能因此否定学习的意义——因为这类人根本就没有完成“内化”的学习。
古往今来,有多少人汲汲于书本的学习、考取了状元而成为了公认的博学者,但其实却从未领悟到学习的真谛。
出自书香名门的龚橙,也就是著名的龚自珍的儿子,虽然自幼聪颖,饱览藏书,学问浩博,但他在庚子国难中主动结识外国公使,为英法联军带路去火烧圆明园,不仅毫无我们所认为的学者身上的高尚气节,甚至沦为历史上的千古罪人。
反观近代的大家梁思成,面对美国的威逼利诱无动于衷,他始终致力于战时古建筑保护。
同样学识渊博,但这“博学”背后,孰高孰低立显。
一个人只博学于书本的知识,并不能被称为真正的学者,因为他并未体验学习的意义——像司马迁那样,读过万卷古今史书,行走过千万里路,亲自迈着双足走遍大江南北考证历史,还在《史记》的每一篇中都留下了自己的评价与思考的人,才能被称为真正的学者——我们赞颂司马迁,不仅仅是因为《史记》的价值,更多的是因为他的人格本身。
他之所以能死得重于泰山,是因为他将他的所学所见内化为了自己的修养内涵,支持着他忍辱,让他的生比死更有价值。
学习的意义是提升自我,这句话,是源自孔子的“修身观”。
孔子正是将“读书、行路、内化”这三层内涵赋予学习的人,同时,他本人也是一个坚定的践行者。
破旧的木车载着他和他的学生,走遍了春秋各国,从北走到南,从古走到今,拨开重重历史的迷雾,径直走向未来。
《论语》中记载了孔子一路的情况以及一路对弟子的教诲,同时得以流传下来的,还有学习的意义——突破读书、行路、内化的三层考验,达到提升自我的目的。
可惜如今的人们总是盲目追求读书数量上的“博学”,遵从旅游文化的肤浅的“行路”,始终难以达到将书本上的知识与生活经验经历合二为一、内化到个人修养的境界,何谈提升自我、高尚灵魂?何谈学习的意义?
学习既困难,也并不困难。
获取知识与经历固然简单,但我们的追求绝不该是如此浅层的学习,而真正有意义的学习,则要求我们沉静下来,去体悟、去思考、去运用,才能提升自我、充实灵魂,使品格高尚,要求我们拥有孔子般“木车的激情”,才能找到学习的意义和生命的本真。
请不要放弃,不要质疑,坚定地前行,学习的意义终将在你的生命旅程中得以永恒。

故而学习使人广博明达,知明而行无过矣;学习更使人高尚为贤,存心济物。
由是则生命个体得以跃迁。
然,也有人说,博学者未必有见识,读书多也不一定使人更高尚。
是言也,发人深思。
推究其根因,在于个人于社会的双重影响。
就个人而言,人若博学,则其所了解掌握的事物的数量则泛泛若海,见识何以不广?其一,实为人之博者非合乎道也。
人可博于谋事逐利之术,然而他所博学者非合乎至理之道,因而若论及道法,则其目为之蔽,见识浅矣。
其二,人之术业有专攻,博学者固而可知万法,然同样有所侧重,若问博学若钱踵书者以经济利害,恐其见识也未博也。
其三,纵使人之所识广之至而合乎道,其学后亦能析其理乎?学而不析者,其所学者非为己有,始终止于“知识”,不能运用。
因而见识浅矣。
那么读书多者为何也未必使人高尚呢?其在于个人心不地道也。
黄山谷曾言:“人不读书,则凡俗生其间,照镜则面目可憎,对人则语言无味。
”读书的前提是心术端正,则可通过汲取书中思想来提升自我,使人更加高尚。
就社会而言,当今之世,随着互联网技术的蓬勃欣荣,社交媒体的兴起,人们之所学也渐益广矣,人之可读之书丰矣。
加以社会风气开放,一个文化多元,思潮涌动的社会悄然而至。
可惜的是,今人的确广博,然而广博带来的是“生趣”的泛化道理,真正富于力度的至理以其艰涩难明,如《时间简史》这般,仅作“门面”高束而置,弃之不用。
更可悲的是,在群思的涌动下,个人之所学所思正为群所左右,“博学者的见识”以群来界定。
阅读“群之思想”多者的“高尚”被群所认为的“高尚”代替。
因而人渐失其本心,与“提身自我”渐行渐远。
再加之资本大潮冲击着传统的儒家文明,人失其本心,功利性阅读喧出于耳,被社会广泛接受,因而学习只用来成为提升“物质”上的自我,提升精神上的“自我”则式微矣。
何来“高尚,有见识”之说?
由是观之,我们应学习有道。
一来慎择学习对象;二来学习的同时对其加以思量分析,变“知识”为技能,化文字为思想;三来应端正本心;四来不在意他人,群的看法,坚守自己,从而在“黑夜”里也能够“健步如飞”。
一言以蔽之,学习有道,意深惠甚也。
提升自我精神,丰富人格进而泽己泽物,存心济物终将是学习的意义。
