• My working pattern and that of my colleagues varies from week to week.
During certain periods a large proportion of my time is spent doing fieldwork. This is followed by office-based work collating and recording the data collected. Once the results have been recorded, I proofread the colour copies of all reports and maps.

• As regards communication with colleagues, department meetings are held
once a fortnight. At all other times, the individual members of the team communicate either face-to-face or by phone, depending on their location. Apart from official meetings, the same results can be achieved whether I am in the office or working elsewhere.

"We see strong players like Goldman Sachs doing well because they offer good references for future careers," said Ng. "Students see that as valuable. You also have to look at the financial aspect -- the potential for high future earnings." While Western employers dominate the top 20, some top Asian companies – including Samsung (SSNLF) (No. 5 among engineers), Sony (SNE) (No. 10), and Huawei (No. 12) -- also ranked highly.

Where students in Asia most want to work
Universum surveyed students in nine countries including China, Japan, India, and Australia about their career hopes. Google and Microsoft also rated highly in a separate Universum survey of students in Europe. In Asia, other businesses that scored high were consulting groups like McKinsey, accounting firms such as EY (Ernst & Young) and consumer products companies including Procter & Gamble (PG). Despite fallout from the financial crisis, banks remain popular among business students. Goldman Sachs ranked the highest, coming in fourth on the list of preferred employers.

China will establish a new anti-graft（贪污） body to further strengthen pressure on corrupt（腐败的）officials, deputy（副的） Procurator（代理人）-General Qiu Xueqiang has said. Qiu told Xinhua in an exclusive（独家的） interview that the plan for a new anti-graft agency was put forward by the Party committee（党委） of the Supreme People‘s Procuratorate (SPP)（最高人民法院） and was approved by the central authority. A vice-ministerial（副部长） level, fulltime member of the procuratorial committee will hold a concurrent（同时发生的） post as head of the new anti-graft agency, Qiu added. The new agency will be better organized and better able to help the SPP handle major cases and break institutional obstacles（障碍）, he said. China established the anti-corruption bureau under the SPP in 1995. After almost 20 years of development, it struggled to meet the demands for anti-corruption work under the new situation due to poor effectiveness in handling corruption cases, Qiu added.

UNICEF estimates that at least 1.2 million children under age five die of diarrhea each year, and contact with human feces is the main cause. Access to toilets could go a long way to preventing these deaths. To jump-start the effort, the foundation is ponying up $42 million in grants aimed at improving the "capture and storage of waste." It will also work with local communities to end open defecation and boost access to "sanitation solutions." In November 2009, the CPI was back to growth from a nine-month drop, rising 0.6 percent year on year. It had been falling since February when CPI was down 1.6 percent due to the global crisis, the first monthly fall since December 2002.
