一、目的状语从句

1、连接目的状语从句的连词有：so that, in order that/to, in case, for fear that, lest 等，也可直接用不定式表目的。一般情况下，目的状语从句放于主句之后。So that、in order that 可以互换使用，此时从句中常带有情态动词will/would, can/could, may/might 等。从句若为否定句，常用情态动词should。例如：We started early so that we could arrive in time. You will need to study many years in order that you may become a brain surgeon. We took a taxi to the station in order that we should not miss the train。In case, lest, for fear that,引导的目的状语从句中常带有情态动词should。例如：Take the umbrella in case it should rain.
