Killing Time Indoors

Nowadays a growing number of people, especially the 20s or 30s, tend to stay indoors for most of their spare time, especially on holidays, some spend the majority of the time online chatting blogging, shopping, dating or playing computer games. Some sit with their eyes glued to the television screen, day and night.

People’s opinions vary when it comes to this way of killing time. a great number of people maintain that staying indoors is cheap, comfortable, and most importantly, very safe. Others, however, frown upon staying indoors for too long. They are worried that lack of physical exercise and face-to-face communication with others will do harm to people’s body and mind.

Personally, I don’t think st aying indoors for most of the day should be advocated .Instead, people in all ages, their physical conditions permitting, should be encouraged to more time outdoors .The brilliant sunshine, the pleasant green space, the interactions with other people, etc .are all good for people’s health, both physically and psychologically.

Internet and Piracy

Internet has penetrated into all the aspects of our life and work. We can study and work by it; we can find a job by it; we can communicate by it; we can entertain by it; we can buy and sell by it. We can do almost everything on the Internet, and almost anywhere anytime.

However, at the same time Internet provides services for us, it is inevitably invading our privacy to some degree. The services on most websites require our registering. If we want to enjoy these services, we have to provide much private information, including our names, gender, address, telephone number and sometimes bank account. Due to the poor Internet administration and weak network security, our information might be open, stolen or sold. Even sometimes the information will be misused by the criminals.

Considering the above-mentioned, we must enhance the alertness when using the Internet. First, when we need Internet service, we should always log on those big legal websites. Second, if the service requires important private information, you should think twice before you type in it.

Please Be Punctual

With the advent of the era of knowledge economy, time is treasured by an increasing number of people. However, many young people attach little importance to punctuality, which, in my opinion, will give rise to many problems.

First, you may impress other people as being unreliable and dishonest. When you are late for a job interview, the boss may refuse to give you the chance since people tend to assume that if you cannot fulfill your promise, you have no sense of responsibility and can do nothing well. Second, others may think that you show no respect to them. Therefore, university students should learn that punctuality is a good habit. Being punctual, you are showing respect to others and, in return, you will win others’respect and trust.
