2一mercaptoehanol(ME),cadmiumchloride(CdCl2?2.5H20)andsodiumsulfide(NazS?9H20)werepurchasedfr。mShanghaiChemicalReagentsFactoryandusedasreceived.N,N—dimethylformamide(DMF)wasdriedover0.4nmmolecuIarsievesandusedwithoutfurtherDurification.

2.5mmolofcadmiumchloridedissoIvedin3mlofdeionjzed(DI)waterwasmixedwithas01utionofME(5.OmmoI)in30mlofDMF.3mlofaqueouss01utionofsodiumsuIfide(N82S:1.67mm01)wasaddeddropwiseintotheabovesolution.TheCdSnanoparticlesthusobtainedwererecoveredbyprecipitationofthereactionmixturefromexcessD1waterandf0Uowedbycentrifugalsepa珀tion.TheseparatedslurrywaswashedthreetimeswithD1wateranddriedat90℃invacuoovernight.

Toexaminetheeffectsoftheorganic1igandandsolventsontheresultingparticlessizes,differentmoIarra—tios“ME/Cd2+andweightratiosofHzO/DMFwerecarriedout.
