Something very strange happened to Lisa. She never knew she had a twin （孪生的）sister until she started university! Lisa was born in Mexico. 1 , so she went to live with a family in Manhattan, USA. When Lisa was twenty years old, she started university in Long Island. 2 . But one day she was walking home from class, and a student smiled at her. “Hello, Jane!” said the student. “I’m not Jane,” said Lisa.

This happened to Lisa again and again. It was very strange. One day, when a

woman called her Jane, Lisa asked “Why do you keep calling me Jane?”

The woman replied, “You look like my friend Jane. You have the same face and the same hair. Is Jane your sister?” Lisa said she didn’t have a sister called Jane. 3 . Finally she as ked someone for Jane’s email address.

When Lisa wrote to Jane, she found out that they both had the same birthday,

they looked the same and both of them were from Mexico. When Lisa went to live

with the family in Manhattan, Jane moved to Long Island to live with a family there. 4 ! It had to be true!

Why can’t some hard -working people learn well? The reason is that they don’t have a good way to learn.__1____,you would learn better.

First ,you should preview before class and you will find some difficult points you can’t understand.__2____.If you still can’t understand ,you could discuss them with your classmates or ask your teacher for help untill you understand them very well.

___3___,you should do an important thing-----That is revision.Revision is very important.It can help you consolidate （巩固） what you have learned.If you don’t review at all,as time goes by and you will forget what you have ever learned.

Another thing is open your eyes and mind .__4__. You can read some literature to improve your language skills and you can also read some books on science to enrich your knowledge of science.

Of course, there are some other good learning ways and we should share them

Mr. White works in an office. He’s able and can easily deal with all kinds of matters.

1 . Of course he’s often busy and has no time to do the housework. His wife does all at home.

Last Friday, their daughter was hurt in a traffic accident and had to be in hospital. Mrs. White had to look after her there and she couldn’t go home to take care of the house and her husband. When Mr. White was at home alone, he never cooked meals.

Yesterday morning, before Mr. White got up, the telephone rang. 3 . His friend told him to write down an important telephone number. But he could find neither a pen nor a piece of paper. When Mr. White returned from work and saw his wife cleaning the table, he rushed to her while shouting, “Stop!” But it was too late!

Think you’re ready to keep a pet at home? Having a dog is a wonderful experience, one that brings lots of fun and keeps from being loneliness. But it also needs lots of attention and responsibility (责任).

Before you decide to get a dog, you should prepare yourself and your home. Dogs, especially young ones, need more time and responsibility. While housetraining your dog, plan to take it outside every day. 1

Don’t let a young dog run freely around your house, or you’ll lose shoes or toys. Dogs also need to exercise twice a day. 2 We’re talking about a lot of active exercise.

A fenced (篱笆) yard with a doghouse is a good idea, especially for large and active dogs. But dogs should never be left outside alone for long periods of time. They need to be kept company. 3

When you take your dog for a walk or run, always keep it on a chain and off other people. You are responsible for accidents and bites caused by your dog. You should always pick up after your dog, no matter where it “does its business”.
