Aiming at preparing students for high quality education, the program produces versatile students with the knowledge of English language who are well prepared to do practical work.

With a sound grounding of English language in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, and an understanding of society and culture of English countries, students can embark on careers in commerce, education and various foreign affairs sectors as translator, teacher, manager and researcher.

Undergraduate Program for the Second Specialty in English

一、培养目标

Ⅰ．Educational Objectives

学生应具有坚实的英语语言基础和较熟练的听、说、读、写、译的能力；掌握语言学、文学的基础知识；对主要英语国家社会和文化有较广泛的了解；在大学毕业之前，通过英语专业四级考试或由外语系组织的学位综合考试；修完所开设的全部课程并考试或考查合格；具备较强的英语交际能力。

Aiming at preparing students for high quality education, with a sound grounding of English language in listening, speaking, writing and translation, and an understanding of society and culture of English countries, students will be able to communicate with native speakers.
