What I See in This PictureHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I'm in 5th grade and I really like looking at pictures and talking about what I see. My teacher gave us this funny picture to describe for our homework assignment. It's a super weird picture but I'll do my best to tell you all about it!The picture shows a bunch of different animals all mixed together into one crazy creature! At the very front, I see the head of a lion. The lion head has a big mane of hair around its face and a wide open mouth showing huge teeth. The teeth look really sharp, like they could bite through anything! The eyes are open wide too, with an intense staring look. Lions are supposed to be the "king of the jungle" animals, so having the head makes this mixed-up animal seem very powerful and fierce.Right behind the lion head, there is a long neck stretching out. But this isn't a normal animal neck - it's covered in bright green feathers just like a parrot! The feathers look smooth and sleek. Parrots are those really colorful birds that can mimic people's voices and say words and phrases. So maybe this weirdanimal can talk too? That would be hilarious if it could roar like a lion but also do parrot noises and jokes! The body section underneath the parrot neck is big and round, kind of like a bear's body. It's covered in thick brown fur. I bet that bear tummy would be pretty cuddly and warm to snuggle up with, as long as you avoided those sharp lion teeth up front! Bears are usually gentle giants unless you bother them or their cubs. But then, coming out of that bear body are four long legs - two in the front and two in the back. The front legs look like they belong to a lizard or reptile. They are green and scaly with little claws at the end. Lizards can regrow their tails if they get pulled off, which is pretty cool. The back legs, on the other hand, are bright yellow and look almost like bigchicken drumstick legs! Those would be perfect for running around quickly. Finally, at the very back of this mixed up animal is a cute little tail sticking out. The tail looks poofy and stripey, just like a raccoon tail! Raccoons are really smart and can open doors and trash cans to look for food scraps.Overall, this imaginary franken-creature is made from parts of the lion, parrot, bear, lizard, chicken, and raccoon. What an odd combination! I have no idea what kinds of sounds it wouldmake or how it would act. Maybe it would be a ferocious fighter like a lion, but also a silly jokester like a parrot? Or maybe a cuddly couch potato like a bear, but quick on its feet like a lizard and chicken? Who knows! The raccoon tail doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of it.I think whoever drew this picture must have had a really wacky imagination. They just tossed together all sorts of different animal body parts without any rhyme or reason. It doesn't make any logical sense at all, which is why it's so funny and entertaining to look at. If this goofy critter was real, I bet it would be pretty hilarious to watch and listen to!Anyway, that's my description of the mixed-up animal picture. Let me know if you need me to explain or add anything else. Drawing my own version would be a fun art project too. Thanks for reading my essay, talk to you later!。

Write an essay of 160~200 words based on the following drawing. In your essay, you should1) describe the drawing briefly,2) explain its intended meaning, and then3) give your example(s).You should write neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2.

As is humorously depicted in the drawing above, a snail is moving but steadily, right to the end of the course while the hare stops to lie down for a rest and falls asleep. What is indicated in the very picture is both meaningful and instructive. The implication of the drawing can be interpreted with respect to perseverance. Napoleon declared, “Victory belongs to the most persevering.” Life is in a sense a battle. The man who thinks to get on by mere smartness and by idling meets failure at last. Behind every great achievement in anyone’s life lies perseverance. We see this in every human endeavor. We all have read of great musicians, writersandinventors who have created or discoveredbreakthroughs in human achievement. Invariably they have said that they owe all their success to perseverance.Of all the countless example, the sage of Colonel Sunders is perhaps one of the most outstanding. The 65-year-old man from Kentucky had a dream to start a chain of fried chicken restaurants all over the world. To realize his dream, the knew that he needed a restaurant owner to go into partnership with him to open the first restaurant and to fry chicken according to the secret recipe he had. Colonel Saunders had knocked on 1,008 doors before he finally found his partner. It is doubtful whether many of us would have had the perseverance to knock even a hundred doors.。

The bar chart illustrates the changes in the number of students majoring in different subjects in a university from 2010 to 2018.As can be seen from the chart, the number of students majoring in computer science increased significantly from around 200 in 2010 to over 450 in 2018, making it the most popular major in the university. Meanwhile, the number of students who chose to major in engineering and business remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 150 to 200 and from 100 to 130, respectively. The number of students majoring in social sciences and humanities, however, experienced a sharp decline from around 180 to only 50 and from 120 to 30, respectively. There are several possible reasons for these changes. First and foremost, the rapid development of computer technology has led to a growing demand for computer science talents in various industries, such as IT, finance, and e-commerce. Therefore, more and more students are attracted to this major for its promising career prospects. In addition, the government has also been promoting the development of the high-tech industry and providing favorable policies and funding for related research and education, which has further stimulated the growth of computer science majors. On the other hand, the decline in social sciences and humanities majors may be attributed to the changing job market and social values. In recent years, there has been a shift in the job market towards more practical andtechnical skills, which may have reduced the appeal of social sciences and humanities majors. Moreover, some people may view these majors as less lucrative or less useful in their daily lives, which could have contributed to the decrease in enrollment. In conclusion, the changes in the number of students majoring in different subjects in the university reflect the evolving demands of the job market and the society. As the world continues to change and develop, it is importantfor students to choose majors that align with their interests and strengths, while also considering the potential career paths and social impacts of their choices.。

In your essay, you should1) describe the drawing briefly,2) explain its intended meaning, and then3) give your comments. You should write neatly on ANSHWER SHEET 2. The enlightening picture portrays that a hot pot, with numerous ingredients in it, includes such domestic and alien cultures as literature, moral values and performing arts. It seems that the hot pot tastes very delicious because of the rich nutrition of the multi-cultural elements.Obviously, the picture characterizes the status quo of Chinese society in which Chinese and Western culture conflict with each other but also merge into a unique form to a certain degree. Since China has opened its door widely to the outside world, many people from different countries have been deeply fascinated by Chinese culture. They will accept and love the Chinese culture as a whole. In addition, Chinese culture should be well shared with foreignpeople, who have shown their enthusiasm towards China. Meanwhile, the Chinese people are also exposed to foreign cultures when more foreign people come to this oriental country. In this way people from various nations in the world will be able to acquire better understanding of each other and live peacefully in this world. In my opinion, the culture of any nation is a kind of precious heritage, and belongs to the whole mankind. With economic globalization, the blending of different cultures has become an inevitable trend of the time. No country is an isolated island, be it China or the western world. The clearer we grasp the current situation, the more it would be beneficial to the global villagers.

1. Wow, I can't believe it's already been a year sinceI started preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination. Time flies! Looking back, I have to say it has been quite a journey. The countless hours spent studying, the sleepless nights, and the moments of doubt and frustration. But through it all, I've grown so much as a person and as a learner. The sacrifices were worth it.2. One thing that really struck me during this whole process is the power of perseverance. There were times when I wanted to give up, when the pressure seemed too much to handle. But I reminded myself of why I started this journey in the first place. I wanted to challenge myself, to push my limits, and to pursue my dreams. And that's what kept me going.3. Of course, it wasn't just about hard work and determination. I also had a lot of support along the way. My family and friends were there for me, cheering me on andreminding me of my capabilities. Their belief in me gave me the strength to keep going, even when I doubted myself. I am truly grateful for their unwavering support.4. Another thing I learned during this process is the importance of balance. It's easy to get consumed by the pressure and stress of studying for such a competitive exam. But I realized that taking breaks, engaging in hobbies, and spending time with loved ones are just as important. These moments of relaxation and rejuvenation helped me stay focused and motivated.5. Now that the exam is over, I can finally take a deep breath and reflect on the journey I've been on. It was challenging, but it was also incredibly rewarding. I've learned so much about myself and what I am capable of. No matter the outcome, I am proud of myself for taking this leap and giving it my all.6. As I wait for the results, I am filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. But no matter what the outcome is, I know that this experience has prepared me forwhatever lies ahead. Whether I get accepted into a postgraduate program or not, I am confident that I have the skills and determination to succeed in whatever path I choose.7. So here's to all the hard work, the late nights, and the moments of doubt. Here's to the journey that has shaped me and made me stronger. And here's to the future, whatever it may hold. I am ready to embrace it with open arms.8. To all the aspiring postgraduate students out there,I want to say this: believe in yourself, trust the process, and never give up. The road may be tough, but the rewards are worth it. Keep pushing forward, and remember that you are capable of achieving great things. Good luck!。

In recent years, the popularity of comic strip questions in the English section of the national postgraduate entrance examination (commonly known as the "考研" in Chinese) has increased significantly. These questions not only test the candidates' language skills but also require them to interpret and analyze visual information. In this article, we will explore the reasons for the inclusion of comic strip questions in the exam and discuss their impact on language learning and assessment. The use of comic strip questions in the "考研" serves several purposes. First and foremost, it is an innovative way to test students' English proficiency. By presenting information in a visual format, candidates are required to decipher the meaning behind the images and then express their understanding in written English. This challenges their interpretation skills and their ability to convey ideas effectively.Furthermore, comic strip questions provide a more engaging and interactive experience for the candidates. Instead of simply reading a passage or answering multiple-choice questions, students are encouraged to think critically and creatively. This helps to cultivate their problem-solving skills and promotes a deeper understanding of the language and culture.Another advantage of using comic strip questions is that they reflect real-life situations. The scenarios depicted in the comics often involve daily life, social issues, or academic subjects. This encourages candidates to connect their language skills to practical situations and enhances their ability to communicate effectively in English outside of the classroom. In terms of language learning, comic strip questions offer a unique opportunity for students to improve their reading and writing skills. By analyzing the visual cues, students can infer the context and meaning of the comic strip. This practice not only enhances their comprehension skills but also expands their vocabulary and grammar usage. Additionally, writing responses to the questions requires students to apply their knowledge of sentence structure, coherence, and cohesion. From an assessment perspective, comic strip questions provide a fair and unbiased evaluation of students' language proficiency. Unlike traditional exam formats, comic strip questions require candidates to think on their feet and respond spontaneously. This assesses their ability to generate ideas, organize thoughts, and express themselves fluently, which are crucial skills in real-life communication. In conclusion, the inclusion of comic strip questions in the "考研" English exam is a positive development that enriches the assessment process and promotes effective language learning. Through analyzing the visual information, interpreting the meaning, and expressing ideas coherently, candidates are challenged to showcase their language proficiency in a unique and engaging format. As the use of comic strip questions continues to grow, it is essential for students to embrace this innovative approach and develop the necessary skills to succeed in the "考研" and beyond.。

历年考研英语一小作文真题2018年考研英语一小作文真题为“Directions: Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the following drawing. In your essay, you should。

1) describe the drawing briefly,。

2) explain its intended meaning, and then。

3) give your comments.”。

The drawing depicts a man standing on a ladder, reaching for the stars in the sky. However, instead of stars, there are dollar signs hanging from the sky. This drawing is a reflection of the materialistic nature of our society, where people are constantly striving for wealth and success, often at the expense of their own happiness and well-being.The ladder symbolizes the effort and hard work that people put in to achieve their goals, while the dollar signs represent the material rewards that they are seeking. The man reaching for the dollar signs reflects the common desire for financial success and the belief that money can bring happiness and fulfillment. In my opinion, this drawing serves as a reminder that true happiness and fulfillment cannot be achieved through material wealth alone. While it is important to work hard and strive for success, it is equally important toprioritize our mental and emotional well-being. We should not lose sight of the things that truly matter in life, such as relationships, personal growth, and self-care.Overall, this drawing serves as a thought-provoking commentary on the materialistic mindset that is prevalentin our society. It encourages us to reevaluate ourpriorities and seek a more balanced and fulfilling approach to life.2020年考研英语一小作文真题为“Directions: Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the following picture. You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET2. (20 points)[参考范文]Cars: Should we Love them or Hate them?In the picture, there are some statistics showing the cars number in China from 1980 to 2002. From the statistics, we can see that the number of cars has increased drastically since the turn of the millennium. The statistics indicate that there is a higher and higher demand for cars nowadays. Ten years ago, the car was a real luxury for most of the people in China. Owning a car seemed to be a dream too far away to realize. However, this luxury is now becoming somewhat of a necessity to many people. From this phenomenon, a conclusion can be reached that the living standards of the people have improved by a big margin. Cars make our life more convenient. However, good dreams may sometimes turn to be nightmares. Many problems accompany the increasing numbers of cars. There are more and more accidents which can bring disaster to many families. The city traffic is in chaos and traffic jams have become a part of our daily life. Air pollution and noise pollution caused by cars do harm to our health. People who loved cars so much before have begun to hate these annoying machines. In fact, all things have dual characters. What we should do is to reduce the influence of the negative one to the minimum. It is true that cars have brought a lot of problems to our life. However, many measures can be taken to tackle them. More roads and overpasses can be built. Some improvements can be made to reduce the volume of the exhaust air. I believe that everybody will love cars one day in the future.二、新东方印建坤考研英语写作经典范文第二篇Study the picture above carefully and write an essay entitled “After Graduation” In the essay, you should (1)describe the picture(2)interpret its meaning (3)give your opinion about the phenomenon. You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET2. (20 points)[参考范文]Graduation is an important event for all of us. It is the divide between school and a full-time working life. After graduation, we are no longer students protected by parents and teachers, but a member of the real society. Let’s look at the picture first. A graduate is told by his teacher, “You must depend on yourself during your life journey after graduation…” He finds that some former graduates fly high into the sky while some experience a drastic fall. The picture tells us a principle. Graduation is not the end of your education, but the beginning of your real journey. At school, we may find we are no different from our classmates. However, there will be a great gap between us after graduation. Some may try their best to improve themselves and become the mainstay of our ear era? While some are indulged in creature comforts and give up their initial ideals. Therefore, we should remember that graduation is the beginning of our real life journey. If you want to be a person useful to society, you should make all efforts to learn as much as possible from others and improve yourself. In this way, you may fly high in the sky.3、新东方印建坤考研英语写作经典范文第三篇Study the picture above carefully and write an essay entitled “The Adaptation of the Classical Literature”. In the essay, you should (1) describe the picture (2) interpret its meaning (3) give your opinion about the phenomenon. You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)[参考范文]The picture gives us a view of a popular phenomenon: the adaptation of the classics. Some classical literary works, such as our four great classics . A Dream of Red Mansions, Journey to the West, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Heroes of the Marshes, are all adapted to caterto some readers’ tastes. The traditional characters become so strange and the plots are totally different. It is so ridiculous that the precious literary treasures are allowed to be ruined so much.As we all know, the classical literature is the representation of the outstanding art of our nation. Some familiar characters such as Monkey King express the good wishes of our common people. From them, we learn many good virtues such as honesty, bravery, justice etc. However, in those adapted works named “Bantering***”or “Reboiling***”, all plots are changed and all characters become somewhat watered clown. Some readers interested in reading burlesque works have high praise for them. But they never think of the negative effects of such adaptations on the average reader, especially to . Children are the future of the nation. They always believe that what is in the books is the truth. Those adapted works will affect their outlook on life. Therefore, some measures should be taken to restrict these adaptations. The real classics should be presented on the bookshelves to lead people to appreciate the real art.4、新东方印建坤考研英语写作经典范文第四篇Study the two pictures above carefully and write an essay entitled “On the Relationship between Environment and Economy” In the essay, you should (1) describe the pictures and interpret their meaning (2) give your opinion with some proof (3) give your should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)[参考范文]On the Relationship between Environment and EconomyThe two pictures above are both about the relationship between the environment and the economic development. In the first picture, GDP is on the rise while the environment is drastically polluted. In the second picture, economic efficiency progresses with environmental protection. It’s easy to get the conclusion that development according to the second picture is more reasonable than that in the first one.In the early development of socialism, our country didn’t pay much attention to the issue of environmental protection and savored the bitterness. Now, the government has taken many measures and is implementing the strategy of “sustainable development”. One aspect of the strategy is to develop the economy and take measures to protect the environment at the same time. In this way, we can develop our country in a sustainable manner and our offspring can have enough resources to develop society. If we don’t put much emphasis on the environment issue and excavate the natural resources blindly, our country will become a barren land sooner or later. In a word, sustainable development is a reasonable strategy which should be implemented for a long time. The nature is providing us with plentiful resources generousl y, but it may punish us severely if we don’t care her.五、新东方印建坤考研英语写作经典范文第五篇Study the two pictures above carefully and write an essay entitled “On Education of China” In the essay, you should (1) describe the pictures (2) interpret their meaning (3) give your opinion about the phenomenon .You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2.(20 points)[参考范文]The two pictures look so similar at one glance, but they are totally different. In the first picture, a peasant boy, carrying a heavy bundle of rice straw is out of breath under the great pressure. His hope is to have a school to attend. In the second picture, a student is on his way home from school, a heavy bag of books on his back. What he wishes is that he didn’t have to go to school any more. How can the two boys at the same age have such different ideas about attending school? The two pictures show some problems in the present education system in China. In the poor countryside, especially in some western parts of China, the education is also poor. There are no buildings for classrooms, let alone good teachers. Children there cannot have regular education. They are sometimes forced to leave their studies because their families cannot afford the necessary fees. However, the situation is totally different in the cities. Almost all the children in the cities can have regular education. They can enjoy the bright classrooms and adequate facilities. But they have their own problems. What they face is the endless homework, which puts so much pressure on them that some students don’t want to continue their studies.Given the problems above, our government has taken some measures. “The Hope Project” has been in operation to ensure that children in the poor areas can achieve education. Some strategies have also been put into force to reduce the pressure on the students. Teachers are asked not to give too much homework. Emphasis should be put on the improvement of the quality of the students. However, there is a long way to go in the improvement of our education conditions. The whole society should be mobilized to make some contributions to our education.六、新东方印建坤考研英语写作经典范文第六篇Study the picture above carefully and write an essay entitled “On the Interpersonal Relationship in the Modern World” In the essay, you should (1) describe the picture (2) interpret its meaning (3) give your opinion about the phenomenon .You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)[参考范文]The picture is talking about a story about neighborhood. Two ladies living in the opposite apartments say “hello” when they happen to meet each other in the corridor. One of them says, “I moved here 5 years ago, but I never met you before. Could I ask your name please?” The other says,” I have been here for 6 years. How should I call you?”It seems very ridiculous that people living so near don’t know each other for such a long time. However, this kind of story is performed everywhere. It is the exact reflection of interpersonal relationships in the modern world. In the modern world, most people live in apartments. They close their doors and never go out as soon as they get home from work. If they live alone, they will kill their time by watching TV or reading magazines. They don’t have any connections even with their closestneighbors, who seem no different from people they meet everyday in the street. They become more and more indifferent. This phenomenon is no good to us, nor to our society. People will feel lonely more and more. The world becomes so indifferent. Interpersonal relationships are not harmonious. It’s time that we took some measures to improve it. People living in the same zone can be organized to have some activities together. We should call on people to be friendly to each other. As a popular song says,” If everybody gives a little love to each other, the world will become the sea of love.” Study the pictures above carefully and write an essay entitled “How to be a Healthy Modern Man”. In the essay, you should (1) describe the pictures (2) interpret their meaning (3) give your opinion about the phenomenon. You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2.(20 points)[参考范文]In the modern world, mental health has become a matter of great concern. Firstly, let’s look at the pictures above. There are four pictures, which give us some advice about how to be in good mental health. The first picture tells us that happiness depends not on what you have, but on what you can give. The second one shows that you cannot decide what the weather is like, but you can decide what mood you are in. The third one shows that you should examine your own words and deeds before correcting the others. The fourth one shows you should not be always upset and should say to yourself everyday” I’m really good.”These pictures indicate that we should try to be in good mental health. Nowadays, it is a common phenomenon that people go to have some psychological consultations. This is because people in the modern world are facing great pressure from work and life. Being depressed for a long time, some problems will come out in people’s mental health. These problems will do great harm. They may cause some health problems and affect our daily life and work. To be a healthy person, mental health seems to be more important. To become a real healthy modern man, we should take the advice of the pictures. Besides, we should remember some important points. Firstly, we should be open with people. Talk with your family and your friends when you meet some difficulties. Secondly, we should be sympathetic. Since we are a part of a society, we should be concerned with it. Thirdly, we should spend some time in reading, listening to the music and learning to lessen our pressure. In this way, we can become a healthy modern man, ready to take on any challenges. Study the picture above carefully and write an essay entitled “On the Essential Responsibility of the Professor” In the essay, you should (1) describe the pictures (2) interpret their meaning (3) give your opinion about the phenomenon. You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)[参考范文]The picture shows a common phenomenon among our professors nowadays. In the picture, a professor is on a thick pile of research papers. There are so many papers that he is high in the air and far away from his students. And the student shouts at him, ”Professor, the blackboard is here. Look downward please.”This is a satirical cartoon which describes vividly a kind of common phenomenon among some professors in the universities. Nowadays, some professors are indulged in composing his endless research papers in order to get some fame in their research fields and thus to be promoted to a higher position. They spend so much time in thesis composing that there is little time for them to think about how to teach their students. They just let the students study by themselves and give no instructions. They forget their essential responsibilities. As an old saying goes, it is a teacher’s job to propagate card inal principles, impart professional knowledge and resolve doubts. Therefore, the most important job of a professor should be teaching the students rather than writing the research papers. Professors should be reminded of this point and devote their heart and soul to the students.10、新东方印建坤考研英语写作经典范文第十篇Study the picture above carefully and write an essay entitled “It is Good \Bad to write about(?) Martial Arts Novels in the Textbooks” In the essay, you should (1) describe the picture and interpret its meaning (2) give your opinion and support it with some proof (3) get the conclusion. You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)[参考范文]The picture describes an interesting phenomenon. When a student is reading his textbook, what flashes in his mind is a scene of fighting between two martial arts fighters. Last year, the compiling group of theChinese textbooks made a decision that some parts of a marital arts novel would be selected as one of the texts. This has sparked off a heated debate. Some say that it is a new idea to do so. The martial arts novels are a new genre of literature and should be included in the textbook. Some others are strongly against this decision. They say it will do no good to students because they will think about nothing but fighting and revenge when they read this kind of novels. In my opinion, it is not reasonable to select such texts. Firstly, the main theme of these novels is revenge. To all the characters, not for a minute was revenge forgotten. The purpose of their life is to seek revenge. Secondly, the characters do nothing but fight with each other. They needn’t make a living. The ir main job is to find someone to fight with. Thirdly, there are all kinds of factions in the novels. People are always belonging to a kind of faction. Students who have not established their values and outlook of life will be affected by these ideas. They may imitate the characters and do some bad things. Therefore, these novels should be removed from the textbook. Some good materials should be selected to instruct the students and help them to form the correct outlook of life. They can benefit from the selection for his whole life.。
