教材分析外研社高一新课程教材第四模块这一部分内容主要是通过社会调查这个方法来使学生关注自己生活的社区及其发展,培养学生热爱家乡的意识和社会责任感。

阅读部分是介绍Xiamen的一篇文章。

根据新课标我设计教材内容和意图如下:搭配适当的问题,让学生有目的地去听去读,培养他们用英语获取信息和解决问题的能力,更好地理解文章内容;后面加上适当的讨论,巩固学习的效果并且培养学生的合作意识。

以此为基础再设计安排写作,培养他们的综合技能,为以后的学习作良好的铺垫。

学情分析高一学生刚接触高中英语学习,他们的年龄特点等等这些都决定了他们对新事物的好奇心和强烈的求知欲,对新事物的热情是学生学习的优势。

但是学生在英语基础上的差异和初高中英语要求的不同,使得学生要有时间去适应并调整,这些是学生学习英语存在的客观条件,教师要给予必要的指导和关注,才能使学生顺利地度过这个过渡时期。

根据新课程标准确立教学目标如下1. 知识与技能Knowledge and ability:理解对话内容,猜生词,编对话Comprehend the dialogue; Guess the meaning of new words ; Make a dialogue of introducing a city.2. 过程与方法Course and method:教师指导和学生合作学习,使得学生可以做到主动探究,用英语去分析和解决问题。

但是好的是大多数学生有学好英语的愿望希望自己能在新的阶段取得进步。

在课堂上他们能够尽力地配合老师用简单的英语进行表达。

对于这样一群学生我会尽量设置一些简单的阅读任务促进他们的成就感激发他们学英语的兴趣同时运用多媒体去启发他们思考主动地去参与并解决课堂上所设置的一些教学任务最终希望他们能在英语上有大的进步。

三、教学资源与策略本节课除外研版必修一教材、录音资料外还借鉴了学英语报和金色教案中的一些好的方面同时也通过互联网搜索了有关厦门的一些美丽的图片。

主要采用的教学策略有: 任务型阅读教学法和交际式教学法。

A lively cityGood afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Jiang Hui. It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. Today I’m going to talk about the topic” A lively city” I will divide the instruction into eight parts:they are the analysis of the teaching material,teaching aims, teaching key points, teaching difficult points, teaching methods,teaching aids ,teaching procedures and teaching reflection.Part 1: The analysis of the teaching material1. The analysis of teaching content:The content of my lesson is foreign language teaching and research press, Senior English book 1,Module4 .The topic is a lively city, this reading is designed to introduce Xiamen city in the form of a dialogue, including its location、climate、people、business and places of interest etc. The aim, on one hand, is to enhance Ss’ understanding of Xiamen and on the other hand, is to enable Ss’ to master the way of introducing a city. It is a stretch of the introduction.2. The analysis of the students’ situation:Students of this stage are quick in thought and they are eager to show what they know and they have a certain ability to read .But they are lack of vocabulary to describe a city vividly and clearly.Part 2 Teaching aimsAccording to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are the followings:1 Knowledge aims:1 Learn some words and sentences about neighborhood. The key words and sentences are thefollowing.a、Words: attractive, fortunate, pretty, tourist, bother, nuisance, rent, district, approach,harbor, gorgeous, architecture, starve, park.b、Sentence patterns: It’s have been six years since we saw each other.It’s the first time I’ve visited your hometown.This is one of the most attractive places I’ve been to.I feel fortunate living here.2 Train the ability of collecting and dealing with information, and develop their abilities of getting new information, communication and cooperation3 Learn to describe some cities.2 Ability aims:1、C omprehend the dialogue not only by reading strategies like skimming and scanning,but also by finishing different tasks;2、Train the students’ speaking ability through individual and pair work3、Make a dialogue of introducing a city.3 Emotion aims:1、Develop Ss’ love with hometown.2、Develop their awareness of cooperation.Part 3 Teaching key points1.Master the key words and sentences.2.Improve the reading ability and grasp the way of introducing a city.Part 4 Teaching difficult points:3.Develop the ability of analyzing and processing information.4.Introduce a city using the target vocabulary and sentences.Part 5 Teaching methodsa)Communicative Approach: Encourage Students to talk activity in class, build up theirconfidence, construct relaxed atmosphere.b)Task-based language teaching: Ask Students to accomplish tasks to solidify knowledge.In order to achieve the teaching aims mentioned above, I decide to choose communicative approach and task-based teaching as the main teaching approach. With the teaching methods, I can guide students to use effective reading strategies to comprehend the dialogue, solve problems and complete different tasks. I will use pair work, group work to let the students take an active part in all kinds of activities. That is “Learning by doing, learning by using”. Let the students be the masters of the class teaching, thus, student-centered teaching method is well shown.Part 6 Teaching aidsMultimedia,tape recorder and blackboardPart 7 Teaching proceduresIt includes five steps.Step 1: GreetingStep 2:Lead-in and pre-reading:It’s important to activate students’ existing background knowledge and draw their attention to the topic of the text. In this period, I will use the pre-reading activities toincrease students’ concentration, arouse their curiosities and give them a purpose forreading.In the part, we will finish two tasks.Task 1:A video1 Ask students “Do you like travelling?” and collect answers. Then show a video to thestudents and guess ”Which city is it?”2 Lead in Xiamen and ask students to use one adjective word to describe this city.Collect their answers on the Bb, like modern, beautiful, charming, attractive, coastal, hot, etc. If they don’t offer the word “lively”, I will put forward it, and ask “Don’t you thinkXiamen is a lively city?”(Design reason:Wit h the task, I inspire students’ former knowledge about Xiamen, which draw their attention to the theme of the reading material and get them ready for the following reading.)Task 2 predictionI move on to ask Ss to make a prediction, “What do yo u expect to know about Xiamen fromthe text?” I collect answer “location, climate, people, scenery …” and then ask Ss to lookthrough the dialogue and check their predictions.(Design reason: with the task, I excite students’ desire to know more about Xia men. With the prediction in mind, they will definitely be eager to read the dialogue to find theanswer. )Step 3 While-readingDuring this period, We will finish two tasks.Task1 Difficult words and sentencesListen to the recorder and find the words and sentences that you are not familiar with or feel hard to translate.Then ask them to work in groups and solve the problems by themselves at first and then write the unsolved words, sentences on the Bb, so that other students can help them.If students happen to ask the key word “pretty” or “park”, I will take the opportunity to emphasize it, so it is with some key sentences like “It’s been six years since we last saw each other.”If not, I will emphasize the key words or sentences during the following reading.(Design reason: With the task, I get students to cooperate and help each other to have a good understanding of some words and sentences, thus reducing the difficulty ofcomprehension and relieving their psychological burden, otherwise students would be discouraged by some difficult vocabulary and sentences. )While collecting their answers, I will show some pictures, making some features of Xiamen visual and more impressive. I will also take the chance to explain some key words and sentences. (Design reason: With the task, students learn to use a table to gather the main facts about Xiamen, which helps to develop their ability of analyzing and processing information, therefore, their skills of reading and taking notes will be improved.)Step4 Post-readingTask1 DiscussionFour students as a group to discuss the two questions“Do you like living in Xiamen, Why or Why not?” and“What’s your ideal lively city?” write down their answers.The first question is designed to check students’ further understanding of the dialogue. Any opinion is welcomed.The second question is to inspire students’ imagination, and easily inspire their interest in discussion.With finishing the two questions, the students can prepare some sentences to introduce one place in pairs. It may make students feel easier to complete the next task.Task 2 Make a dialogue and act it outT he students work in pairs to make a dialogue to introduce a place. Then act the dialogue out to the students. This task is to encourage students’ to put what they have learned or discussed to use, as well as using the key words and sentences in the dialogue.(Design reason With these two tasks, students are supposed to learn the way to introduce a city better, meanwhile, in order to read the dialogue out, they have to cooperate and discuss to find more information about their ideal lively city, which develops their ability of cooperation )Step 5.Summary and homework1.Ask students to revise the words and phrases2.Ask students to write a passage about their hometown –Tianjin.(.Design reason: Homework is so important and necessary for to master the knowledge they learned after class The purpose of these two homework is to give the students a clear idea of how to express their problems and revise the articles.)Part 8: Teaching reflectionDuring my teaching,I’ll try my best to get my class alive and encourage the students to talk with each other in English.
