I have always been a great movie fan. I remember myself at the age of 5 or 6 when my granny used to take me by the hand，and we would walk to the Salut Cinema. She bought me ice-cream and chocolate. I liked watching cartoons. Those days were so wonderful.

As I grew older I started going to the cinema with my school friends. We still went there though we didn't·have much time. We preferred watching comedies. I like the stars like Jim Carey，but as for Russian films，some of them are not bad. I like old Russian comedies very much.

Well; sometimes I also like to go to the theatre now，but I don't go very often. Why? For many reasons first of all I don't have enough time. Also，I'm too lazy to book tickets in advance(预先). So，I can't say exactly which I prefer: going to the cinema or to the theatre. It depends on how I feel at the time.

The detective was thinking about the information he had got from his helper. A dead man was hanging from a rope tied to the ceiling(天花板) in a snow-covered house. It appeared that the man killed himself. But the detective was thinking how the man reached the ceiling，because there was nothing in the house for him to step on. There was only a big and empty box and some water on the floor when the policeman arrived. The detective's helper suggested that

the man might have been killed by someone else. The killer might have made him hang himself.

However，the detective was quite sure that the man had gone to the house alone，because there was only one set of footprints leading to the house. The footprints matched the shoes that the dead man had been wearing. The ground was covered with snow and they could see the footprints clearly. The detective knew that it was impossible for anyone to have gone to the house without leaving their footprints.

Since he could not think of an answer，the detective decided to have a cold drink. He put some ice-cubes into a glass and，when he looked at the ice-cubes，he suddenly realized how the dead man might have done it. The box that he stepped on to reach the ceiling was probably full of ice. By the time the police arrived，the ice had melted(融化)，leaving only some water and an empty box.
