听力逐一反驳：1. 帝国建立之初，当权者考虑到了内忧外患，早就推翻了defensive wall, 而且建立了强大的军队，other states没有正规军；2. 当时已经有了irrigation system, 可以从远处调水，而且粮食储备也足够应对；3. 先承认原因3, 再举出反例，发展了新的贸易关系，比如和东部的partner 可以协调，弥补损失。

1. 技术不成熟，船太小无法航行到Africa;
2. 当时埃及的统治者对探索周边不感兴趣；
3. 以前的人喜欢编造关于海的传说，当时已经有sea monster和magical islands的故事；
Lecture逐一反驳：
1. 科学家模拟实验成功证明当时的船可以远航；
2. 尼古拉二世与其他统治者不同，他对水路交通感兴趣，而且想要远航找新的trading partners;
