安徽省2020年高考英语二轮小专题复习 落实应用之社会生活型阅读理解1
专题限时训练(二十) [社会生活型阅读理解(一)] (限时:25分钟)AI've spent over a year in India, and in those 365 plus days, I've learned a lot about getting around Indian cities. My biggest lessons have been learned through being cheated, particularly by taxi and rickshaw (人力车) drivers, but that doesn't mean those are bad ways to travel, as long as you know what you're doing. Below are the best ways to get around the city of Delhi, India, and tips for how to keep from being the victim of scams (欺诈).Taking taxis is a great way to get around the city of Delhi and chances are, if you arrive in Delhi by plane, as soon as you make it through customs, you'll be swarmed by Indian taxi drivers. At the Delhi airport, be sure to arrange for a taxi to your hotel at one of the two Delhi Traffic Police Taxi Booths. One is inside the airport, and the other is outside. The key is to make sure to go to a booth run by the police, rather than by independent taxi drivers.Rickshaws are one of my favourite ways to get around Indian cities, in part because it's how the locals often travel. Autorickshaws are more common, but bicycle rickshaws are still used in Old Delhi. If you do have a chance to take a bicycle rickshaw, you should do it at least once for a unique experience that sho uld only set you back about 15 rupees. Autorickshaw rates around Delhi range between 30 and 80 rupees, depending on the distance. If you really want to travel around Delhi like the locals, take a public bus. Indian buses become very crowded and most do not have air conditioning. They are, however, very cheap. A bus trip won't set you back any more than 15 rupees, as long as you stay within the city limits. Since Indian buses get so crowded, try to board the bus at the start of the route so you can get a seat. The train is a great way to get around within the city of Delhi. Fares are reasonable, between 6 and 22 rupees. All departure announcements are in both Hindi and English, and tokens can be purchased for between 6 and 22 rupees.1. The author is trying to ________ in Delhi through this text.A.give some advice of travellingB.expect us to travel aroundC.show his/her experiencesD.explain the difficulties of travelling2. To avoid being cheated, you ought to ________ if you want to take a taxi at the Delhi airport.A.pay more to the drivers to keep safeB.show your ticket to the driverC.go to a policerun boothD.go out of the airport3. The author suggests taking a rickshaw in order to ________.A.save some moneyB.enjoy the comfortable tripC.gain a unique experienceD.help the local rickshaw drivers4. What can we infer from the passage?A.You won't have to pay much if you travel around by bus in India.B.It will be difficult for you to get a seat if you get on the bus halfway.C.A rickshaw driver only charges whatever amount you give him.D.You'll have to speak English if you travel around in India.5. Which may be the topic that follows?A.Hotel recommendations in DelhiB.Weather conditions in DelhiC.Food and drink in DelhiD.Car rentals in DelhiBLife is to be enjoyed. There's no point in giving up something you enjoy unless you get something back that's even better. When people eat more healthfully, exercise, quit smoking, and manage stress better, they find that they feel so much better that it reconstructs the reason for making these changes from fear of dying to joy of living. The latest studies show that when you exercise and eat right:YOUR BRAIN receives more blood flow and oxygen, so you become smarter, think more clearly, have more energy, and need less sleep. Two studies showed that just walking for three hours per week for only three months caused so many new neurons (神经细胞) to grow that it actually increased the size of people's brains!YOUR FACE receives more blood flow, so your_skin_glows more and wrinkles less. You look younger and more attractive. In contrast, an unhealthy diet, chronic emotional stress and smoking reduce blood flow to your face so you age more quickly. Smoking accelerates aging because nicotine causes your arteries (动脉) to narrow down, which decreases blood flow to your face and makes it wrinkle earlier. This is why smokers look years older than they really are.YOUR GENES change. In May, a study was published in the proceedings ofthe National Academy of Sciences showing that changing your lifestyle changes your genes.YOUR TELOMERES (染色体端粒) get longer. Telomeres are the ends of our chromosomes (染色体) that control how long we live. As telomeres become shorter, then cells age more quickly, thus shortening your life.Besides, one of the most interesting findings in the study was that the mothers' awareness of stress was more important than what was really occurring in their lives. The researchers gave the women a questionnaire and asked them to rate on a threepoint scale how stressed they felt each day, and how out of control their lives felt to them. The women who were aware that they were under heavy stress had significantly shortened and damaged telomeres compared with those who felt more relaxed. On the contrary, some of the women who felt relaxed despite raising a disabled child had more normalappearing telomeres. In other words, if you feel stressed, you are stressed; if you feel fine, you are fine.1. Which of the following are good for lengthening one's life, according to the passage?① eat healthy food ② drink plenty of water③ take exercise ④ get up early⑤ go to sleep early ⑥ release one's stressA.①③⑥ B.①②③C.①⑤⑥ D.③④⑥2. The underlined words “your skin glows” in Paragraph 3 are closest in meaning to “________”.A.your skin becomes white as there is plenty of sunshineB.your skin becomes smooth as there is much blood in itC.your skin looks pink as you are healthyD.your skin becomes soft as you exercise enough3. In the author's opinion, when you exercise and eat right, you will experience some changes EXCEPT ________.A.brains becoming clevererB.faces having fewer wrinklesC.arteries turning narrowerD.genes being changed4. From the last but one paragraph we learn that ________.A.mothers will have more damaged telomeres if they raise a disabled child B.mothers don't know how to handle stress effectivelyC.some women were asked to fill out a questionnaire about educating childrenD.mothers' positive attitudes are the key to managing their stress5. The best title for the passage would be “________”.A.Eat better, live betterB.Feel better, live longerC.Less stress, fewer diseasesD.Smoke more, age soonerCBig Brothers Big Sisters is based on the simplicity and power of friendship. As I often did when appointed to do a hard job in the garden, I this was my parents’ way of getting me to do their dirty work.It was a Sunday morning. With some tools, I went at the tree, dismantling (拆卸) it branch by branch and limb by limb, until all that remained of the once-proud specimen was a sorry-looking stump of a thing.“What did that ever do to you?”, my father said, “You left some taproot (主根), at least. Go and load up the truck.” On any other day before, during the to mumsy’s, we would have pleasantly school as usual, but I fenced myself off that time. Then, at Mumsy’s, instead of sitting back to watch me work, he me. As my father and I took turns to work, I could feel my anger , making room for the simple satisfaction of working at my father’s side towards a common goal.“ Well,” my father said when we finished, “ we’ve done what we can d o.” “Do you think there’s any that it can grow up?” I asked. “It’s rich dirt. They say you can plant toenails in it and grow little kids.” My father answered. I never tried the toenail trick, but I did watch as it settled in, took root, and began to prosper. I was amazedand when bowls of figs began to fill the fridge. In a fair world, I don’t deserve the reward. I had hurt the tree for my own complaints. What right did I have to the fruit? But it is getting nowadays. What killed hitchhiking? is often mentioned as a reason. Movies about murderous hitchhikers and real-life crime many drivers off picking up hitchhikers. no single women picked me up on my journey to Manchester reflects the safety fear: , strangely dressed man is seen as dangerous. But the reason may be complex: hitchhiking happens where people don’t have cars and transport services are . Plenty of people hitchhike in Poland and Romania. Perhaps the rising level of car ownership in the UK means the few people lift hitchhiking are usually considered strange. Why can’t they cars? Why can’t they take the coach or the train?Three-quarters of the UK population have a car; many of the will be quite old. The potential hitchhiking population is therefore small. my trip proves it’s still possible to hitchhike. The people who picked me up were very interesting lawyer, retired surgeon, tank commander, carpenter, man who live in an isolated farmhouse and a couple in the mountains. My conclusion is that only really interesting people are mad enough to pick up fat blokes(家伙) in red, spotted scarves. Most just wanted to do someone a good turn; a few said they were so surprised to see a hitchhiker that they couldn’t help. The future of hitchhiking most lies with car-sharing organized over the Internet, via sites such as hitchhikers. org. But for now, you can still stick your thumb out (actually, I didn’t d o much of that, just to hold up my destination sign) and people—wonderful, caring, sharing, unafraid people—will stop.In the UK, with its cheap and reasonable rail service, I don’t think I’ll make a habit of it. PositiveCTrees, some of the tallest in the world, towered above Hannah Ginffiths and her colleagues each morning as they walked deep into the rainforest in the Maliau Basin in Bomeo, where they had set up a set of experiments to look at the ecological effects of small creatures :termites(白蚁).Termites get a bum rap. They make headlines for chewing up billions of dollars of property each year in the U.S.And they are responsible for something like two percent of global carbon emissions, simply as a result of their huge populations and preference for chewing through carton-rich materials.A whole industry is aiming at killing them. But they play a key role in many natural ecosystems.Scientists have known for years that in tropical (热带的)forests, termites chew up fallen leaves and dead wood, keeping h fallen material under control and letting nutrients from the dead material back into the systemto be used by other plants, insects, and animals. But they didn't know exactly how important the insects were in keeping the forest healthy and functional,so whey remove termites from a particular spot in the forest and saw how it responded. As luck would have it.Hannah Griffiths and her colleagues started their experiment when the forest was hit by an extreme drought (干旱).During the non-drought years, they saw there wasn't much difference between the normal plots and the ones where they'd removed the termites. But during the drought, the effects were marked. What they found was unexpected:in the termite-rich areas, the soil stayed slightly wet, more tree seedlings sprouted (抽芽),and the system was full of activity despite the long, hard dry spell. For Griffiths,it was only because they happened to study the drought that they could pick out the real importance of termites to the system, she points out."And that rings alarm bells in my head," she says,"because it makes me think, well, what else don t we know?If we start damaging biological communities,we don't know what that will do."8.Which of the following best explains "a bum rap" underlined in Paragraph 2?______A. Termites enjoy eating tree seedlings during the drought.11.What does Griffiths tell us in the last paragraph?______A. Termites are now in danger of extinctionB. Termites damage biological communities.C. We should think twice before damaging a speciesD. we should study the drought to improve the systemDClassifying things is critical for our daily lives. For example,we have to detect spam mail (垃圾邮件),false political news. When we use AI,such tasks are based on "classification technology" in machine earning-having the computer learn, using the boundary separating positive and negative data. For example,"positive" data would be photos including a happy face, and "negative" data photos that include a sad face.Once a classification boundary is learned, the computer can determine whether a certain data is positive or negative. However, the difficulty with his technology is that it requires both positive and negative data for the learning process, and negative data are not available in many cases. For instance, when a retailer (零售商)is trying to predict who will make a purchase, they can easily find data on customers who have purchased from them(positive data, but it is basically impossible to obtain data on customers who have never purchased from them(negative data ),since they do not have access to their competitors' data.According to lend author Takashi Ishida from RIKEN AIP,"Previous classification methods could not cope with the situation where negative data were not available, but we have made itpossible for computers to learn with only positive data,as long as we have a confidence score for our positive data, constructed from information such as buying intention or the active rate of app users.Using our new method,we can let computers learn a classifier only from positive data equipped with confidence."According to Ishida."This discovery could expand the range of applications where classification technology can be used.Even in fields where machine learning has been actively used, our classification technology could be used in new situations where only positive data can be gathered due to data regulation or business constraints(限制).In the near future,we hope to put our technology to use in various research fields, such as natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and bioinformatics."12.How can the computer distinguish the positive data from the negative data?______A. 2020届高考英语二轮复习完形填空类(记叙文)解题技巧及典例剖析题型特点1.
