Read each paragraph. Think about a conclusion you can draw. Write your conclusion in a complete sentence.
What conclusion can you draw? Write it on the lines below.
You might have written, “Jellyfish can be very colorful!” You might have said, “The poison of the jellyfish can hurt people.” You might have written, “The arms of the jellyfish have several uses.”
You can draw these conclusions from the story. The first sentence compares the jellyfish to a colorful balloon. The next sentences tell what the jellyfish can do with its arms. From these clues you can draw the above conclusions.
Don’t touch that colorful balloon floating in the sea. It’s probably a jellyfish. It could sting you. Hundreds of tentacles, or long arms, hang below the “balloon”. The jellyfish uses these arms to trap small sea animals swimming by. Then it stings them with a strong poison from its arms. After that, it takes the animal to its mouth. The mouth is at the center of its body.
