在我国,随着高速公路的发展和汽车性能的提高,汽车的行驶速度越来越快,特别是由于汽车拥有量的迅速增加,交通越来越拥挤…..等诸多因素导致近年来汽车安全事故的损失逐年上升。所以,汽车的安全性就变得尤为重要。汽车安汽车的安全性分为主动安全和被动安全两种。主动安全是指汽车防止发生事故的能力,主要有防抱死系统,制动力分配系统等。被动安全是指在万一发生事故的情况下汽车上的配置保护乘员的能力。目前主要有安全带、安全气垫、防撞式车身和安全气囊防护系统( Airbag Restraint System)等。(以下简称为:安全气囊。)
发生交通事故时,汽车不可避免的要发生碰撞。汽车发生碰撞全过程分为两个阶段:没有人参与的汽车与汽车或汽车与障碍物之间的碰撞作为碰撞的第一阶段。碰撞第一阶段必然导致汽车产生减速度,车内人员由于惯性就会以一定的加速度向撞击发生的方向运动,如果这个加速度足够大,将造成人员与车内构件相碰,把这个碰撞叫碰撞的第二阶段,即伤人阶段。安全气囊的作用即在碰撞的第一阶段和第二阶段之间,迅速在车内人员与汽车构件之间产生一个充满气体的气垫,在碰撞过程中通过气囊的阻尼排气等过程吸收乘员的动能,使碰撞的第二阶段得以减缓,以减轻碰撞对人员的伤害程度。安全气囊属于汽车乘员“被动安全性保护装置”。其中安全带在被动保护过程中起主要作用,而安全气囊属于辅助约束系统(Supplemental Restraint System),即SRS。
