Dictation.A: Fast readingCars and Air PollutionToo many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities, All the time, they are pumping huge amount of waste gases into he atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death. One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. In Shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars to completely replace the traditional ones.Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. If the price of petrol rises constantly and the public vehicles are efficient and convenient enough, most people will not buy private cars. And the total number of cars in big cities will reduce greatly. On the whole, the elimination of air pollution needs the collective efforts from the government, the public and environmentalists.II. Review
• We can see a usual phenomenon :many students review the note of classes and believe they can remember all the key points, but they can’t.
why???
Feel it
better together there is no combination fo words i could put on the back of a postcard and no song that i could sing but i can try for your heart and our dreams and they are made out of real things like a shoebox of photographs with sepia-toned loving love is the answer at least for most of the questions in my heart why are we here? and where do we go? and how come it’s so hard? It’s not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving I’ll tell you one thing, it’s always better when we’re together
long-term memory

2. Lincoln Memorial
At the far west end of the Mall, the Lincoln Memorial is modelled upon a Doric temple, enclosed by a colonnade and fronted by a long reflecting pool. During the Civil Rights March on Washington in 1963, Dr Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his epic "I Have a Dream" speech, not from the steps of the White House or the US Capitol, but here.
3. Washington Monument
The Mall's most prominent feature, the Washington Monument is an unadorned marble obelisk built in memory of George Washington. At 555ft it's the tallest allmasonry structure in the world.
The Lincoln Memorial is a fitting tribute to the man who held the country together during the Civil War and thereby put an end to slavery in the US. A craggy likeness of Abraham Lincoln sits firmly grasping the arms of his throne-like chair, apparently deep in thought. The inscriptions of Lincoln's two most celebrated speeches – the Gettysburg Address and the Second Inaugural Address – are carved on north and south walls.
