1.环境保护是中国的一项基本国策，是实现经济持续发展的一项重要战略。

中国作为国际社会中的成员，积极参与国际环保事务，努力促进国际环保合作。

人类在解决环境与发展问题上仍然面临着大量的难题，每个国家都面临着发展经济与保护环境的双重任务。

中国将一如既往，与其他国家合作，为保护我们的生存环境，为人类的幸福和繁荣而奋斗。

As a basic state policy, environmental protection is an important strategy for the sustained economic development.

China, a member of international community, has taken an active part in international affairs of environmental protection to promote with effort international cooperation in environmental protection.

Family planning and environmental protection is our basic state policy and an important condition to improve the people’s life. China has a large population and insufficient natural resources. The conflict of economic growth, resources and environment has become acute. Therefore, we should improve prenatal and postnatal care to enhance the quality of population.

Recently China has announced the first victory in the war against desertification for several centuries.
