It's a traditional Chinese philosophy. Taoism, or "The Way," is the natural order, or the force that flows through all living things. The principal Taoist ethic is called Wu-wei, or no-action, meaning to seek equilibrium and balance.
But a visit to the 1,500-year-old temple will help you understand the essence of martial arts.
⑩Shanghai
It’s one of the coolest cities in the world. Cool, clean and modern in many parts, this city stilll retains an almost 19th century feel in its colonial district.
⑾The Great Wall It is
part symbol ,part myth. It’s a symbol of how much can be achieved by the power of human will, but also how many people can be often deceived by magnficence.
⑤Dragon
A dragon seems to be more of a neutral, but leaning more over to a positive idea. A dragon seems to be (for me at least) the national symbol for China.
②Yin-yang
I don't really have a definition of yin-yang. All I can think of is that it is the balance of good and evil; dark v.s. light.
Yin-yang represent balance. In Chinese philosophy, yin (moon) is the passive, cold female force. Yang (sun) is the masculine force, representing movement and heat.
⑥Confucius
When I hear the name Confucius,I think of the word “wisdom”.
Confucius is a great thinker. His
idears are deeply rooted in Chinese sociely. Some compare Confucius’ influence in Chinese history with that of Socrates in the West. Confucius’ social philosophy largely revolves around the concept of “ren”, “compassion” or “loving others”. Having concern for others means we should restrain our behavior to avoid harmful words or bad manners.
①Color red
Red in China makes me think of... passion? Passion for a cause. And the West taught me to associate it with communism.
China does use red in its flags. However, Chinese also wear red at weddings and put up red lanterns for festivals because red is traditionally a lucky color.
③Taoism
Taoism is the philosophy of "The Way". I guess that refers to something mysterious and unnamable. I don't understand precisely what it means, but I suppose that's the point!
④ Fengshui
The first thing I think of about fengshui is moving things around in a room. However, when thinking further, I associate it with a belief that certain steps may be taken to improve luck.
⑦Yao Ming —— “gently giant” Tall ,scary but mostly tall.
Yao Ming is the most high-profile Chinese sportsman who plays for a foreign team. Chinese people are proud of him and regard him as a national symbol, Traditionally, Chinese people are viewed as poor sports people ,but Yao’s presence in the NBA challenges this stereotype.
⑧Others :Mao zedong ,Deng Xiaoping and Zhang Yimou
⑨Shaolin Temple
Arguably China’s biggest Cultural export…. Shaolin sells ,and China Has had no problem in selling the mysteries behind Shaolin to foreigners at home and abroad.
