The actor , Red , who said, “These walls are kind of funny like that, first you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them . ’’ in the film was really set people thinking. The prison had transformed a person entirely just like that. When the years passed, the journey of life can only measured by time , all the hopes will go away.

Hope, is the whole theme of the movie . Before Andy went to the prison , the topic here is noting but metamorphosis , fighting or killing time. Confusion , dirty , fear , despair came together to create a harsh environment. The prisons have no human rights at all . They are free to sell their cheap labor to the warden . After Andy coming , although this unwilling banker can’t change the oppression and abuse of prisoners. At least he brought hope to this prison.

Everyone in Shawshank is institutionalized , resulting in the death of the Brooks , leading to Red’s still havin g no rights and intendance to bring the ‘’instructions’’ of the brand , losing hope that his life will not always be like a normal person . And the warden , had completely obliterate the hope of Shawshank prisoners for the future.

I am moved by Andy’s wil ling self-punishment. He knew he is innocent, but he was actually sorry for that he dismissed his wife and didn’t give her enough love and care, which lead to her death

directly. Therefore, he undertook the nineteen-year experience in jail without any complains and use his knowledge to make his life easier in the prison. It is a behavior out of redemption, which is magnanimous in fact.

He once that is born , that is die. The only difference is whether busy living or busy dying. The film tells me even a man can live once, but if he keeps faith, keeps hope and works his life right, then once is enough. The faith is bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark, the hope is the chief happiness that his world affords, and the life should be full of the singing of the bird and the happiness hope brings. What do you think? I think it is the trembling of his heart, the singing of the mind, the flying of the soul and the hope to be free.

Andy had said. ‘’Life has only two choices----get busy living or get b usy dying.’’ This is the most impressive word in this movie. It influenced a lot of people including me. Everyone is able to be busy living , but not everyone can do that all the time. That is why a few people have brilliant life. Many remain mediocre till last minute of their life while some always struggle to get out of poverty. We complain the God is unfair. We just despair when we are in all-time low. We take hands-off attitude towards ourselves when others think we are failure, although we will keep in dreams.
