译为be worldwide famous for,也可用be worldwide known for来表示。类似的表达方式还有be known/famous as(作为...而出名),be famous/known to(对...来说很出名)。
2.中国是世界上拥有竹子最多的国家，被称为竹子的王国：前半
句能够理解为“中国有比世界上任何国家都多的竹子”。后半句的
“被称为”可译为be known as。“竹子的王国”可译为the Kingdom of Bamboo。

a symbol of意为“某物的象征”。
