Mother's Day Introduction

As a thank his mother for Mother's Day holiday, first appeared in ancient Greece, time is the annual January 8, while in the United States, Canada and some other countries, it is every year the second Sunday in May, a number of other countries dates were the same . On this day mothers often receive gifts.

母亲节作为一个感谢母亲的节日，最早出现在古希腊，时间是每年的一月八日，而在美国、加拿大和一些其他国家，则是每年5月的第二个星期天，其他一些国家的日期也并不一样。母亲们在这一天通常会收到礼物。

Mid-autumn Day

Mooncakes are to Mid-Autumn Festival what mince pies are to Christmas. The seasonal round cakes traditionally have a sweet filling of lotus seed paste or red bean paste and often have one or more salted duck eggs in the center to represent the moon. And the moon is what this celebration is all about. Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month, it is the time when the moon is said to be at its brightest and fullest. This year the festival falls on October 1. 中秋节吃月饼就像西方人圣诞节吃百果馅饼一样，是必不可少的。圆圆的月饼中通常包有香甜的莲子馅或是红豆馅，馅的中央还会加上一个金黄的咸鸭蛋黄来代表月亮。而月亮正是中秋节庆祝的主题。每年农历8月15日人们一起庆祝中秋，据说这一天的月亮是一年中最亮最圆的。今年的中秋节恰好是阳历的10月1日（中国的国庆日）。

But the celebrations of Easter have many customs and legends that are pagan in origin and have nothing to do with Christianity

Traditions associated with the festival survive in the Easter abbit, a symbol of fertility, and in colored easter eggs, originally ainted with bright colors to epresent the sunlight of spring, and used in Easter-egg rolling contests or given as gifts

复活节

复活节是春季的节日。在信基督教的国家里，复活节是为纪念基督耶稣的复活而举行的宗教节日。但是复活节有许多习俗和传说的由来都是非宗教的，它们与基督教没有任何关系。

与节日密切联系的一些传统有象复活节的野兔，它是作为繁殖生长的象征；还有复活节的鸡蛋，最先是被绘以鲜亮的颜色来代表春天的阳光。这些鸡蛋还可以用来玩滚鸡蛋游戏比赛，或作为小礼物送人。

The First Thanksgiving

The first American Thanksgiving was celebrated in 1621, to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony after a harsh winter. In that year GovernorWilliam Bradford proclaimed a day of thanksgiving. The colonists celebrated it as a traditional English harvest feast, to which they invited the local Wampanoag Indians. Days of thanksgiving were celebrated throughout the colonies after fall harvests.

All thirteen colonies did not, however, celebrate Thanksgiving at the same time until October 1777. George Washingtonwas the first president to declare the holiday, in 1789.

感恩节

The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China.People usually decorate the doors and windows with red papercuts.becouse red means good luck.People usually clean house too.becouse they want to sweep away bad luck.Children can get some new clothes or presents from their parents and grandparents.

On New Year's Eve,family always have a big dinner.Everybody are watch TV and talk.In the midnight,there usually fairworks.

On New Year's Day,people usually put on their new clothes and visit their femily and friends.They usually say:"Happy New Year's Day."

The Spring Festival finishes at the Lantern Festival after two weeks.People usually eat a kind of rice dumpling called yuanxiao.It can take people good luck all the year round.
