Today we will talk about Royal Navy of Britain. It is the most ancient army of Britain, with a history of more than 600 years. As the sword of the Empire which the sun will never fall, royal navy ruled the oceans of the world for centuries and witness the glory of the empire through countless battles.

Now let me introduce the most famous 3 battles in the history, which protect England from the challenge of other powerful countries.

The first battle I want to say is Spanish naval battle in 1588 , in which royal navy defeat the Armada, the strongest navy of the world at that time. Since that time, Britain became the most powerful ocean empire.

When time went 1805, by the leadership of Napoleon, France became extremely powerful, which offend the interest of England. The war began. In Trafalga, because of the hard training of the solider and excellent leadership of commander Nelson, royal navy won its most brilliant victory and ensure the position of the world overlord.

100 years later since the Battle of Trafalga, Germany wants to challenge the position of England and rule the whole Europe. They started the total war against England and France with strong army and navy. In the ocean, Germen wants to defeat royal navy. At last, in Jilland, two navies began the most splendid sea battle of the history. Although royal navy suffered more damage than Germen, they successfully forced Germen retreat and since that battle, Germen never went out of the harbor during the World War I.

Nowadays, royal navy is no more the rulers of the sea. However, they are still the advanced and one of the most powerful navy in the world.

海洋霸权的开始：英西大海战

它发生在1588年7月，英国舰队虽然规模小，但它拥有更先进的火炮，再加上气候的原因，英国舰队利用它灵活机动的特点，几天激战之后，西班牙的无敌舰队被英国人打得一半沉入海底，一半奔逃回家，它确实标志着17世纪英国海上力量的崛起。

特拉法尔加海战

时间：1805年10月

特拉法尔加海战是英国海军史上的一次最大胜利，由于英军指挥、战术及训练皆胜一筹，法兰西联合舰队遭受决定性打击，拿破仑被迫放弃进攻英国本土的计划。而英国海上霸主的地位得以巩固。

日德兰海战Jylland

时间：1916年5月

日德兰海战是第一次世界大战中最大规模的海战，德国公海舰队以相对较少吨位的舰只损失击沉了更多的英国舰只，取得战术上的胜利，但是英国使得后者在战争后期几乎毫无作为，从而取得了战略上的最终胜利。

时至今日，英国皇家海军虽没了当年不可一世的战力，但仍是世界上最先进的海军之一。
