Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. Today, I stand before you to address a common enemy that plagues many of us: procrastination. As we all know, procrastination is the act of delaying or postponing tasks to a later time, often with negative consequences. In this speech, I will delveinto the causes of procrastination, its effects on our lives, and practical strategies to overcome it. Let's embark on this journey together and conquer procrastination once and for all.Firstly, let's understand why procrastination is so prevalent in our society. There are several factors that contribute to this bad habit. One of the primary reasons is perfectionism. We often fear that our work may not be up to par with our expectations, so we delay starting or completing tasks. This fear of failure can be paralyzing, preventing us from taking action.Another factor is the lack of motivation. Sometimes, we may not see the value or importance of a task, which leads to a lack of interest in performing it. Moreover, we may be overwhelmed by the complexity or volume of the task, making it seem unattainable. This overwhelmingfeeling can cause us to procrastinate, as we feel that there is no point in starting if we cannot complete the task perfectly.Additionally, our environment plays a significant role in procrastination. Distractions, such as social media, phone notifications, or even a comfortable chair, can divert our attention from the task at hand. These distractions can create a sense of urgency, making usbelieve that we have more time to complete the task later. Now that we understand the causes of procrastination, let's explore its effects on our lives. Firstly, procrastination can lead to poor time management. When we delay tasks, we may find ourselves running out of time to complete them, resulting in rushed work and lower quality outcomes. This can ultimately affect our performance, both personallyand professionally.Furthermore, procrastination can cause stress and anxiety. The pressure of impending deadlines and the fear of failure can create a negative cycle, where we feel more inclined to delay tasks even further. This stress can have detrimental effects on our mental and physical health, leading to burnout and decreased productivity. Moreover, procrastination can damage our self-esteem and self-worth. When we repeatedly fail to meet our own expectations, we may begin to doubt our abilities and worth. This can have long-lasting consequences on our self-confidence and overall well-being.So, how can we overcome this pesky habit? Here are some practical strategies to help you conquer procrastination:1. Break down tasks: Divide your tasks into smaller, manageable parts. This will make the task seem less daunting and more achievable. By completing smaller tasks, you will gain momentum and feel more motivated to continue.2. Set clear goals: Define your goals and objectives clearly. This will help you stay focused and committed to your tasks. Set realistic deadlines and prioritize your tasks based on their importance and urgency.3. Create a conducive environment: Eliminate distractions by creating a workspace that is conducive to productivity. This may involve turningoff your phone, using noise-canceling headphones, or setting specific times for checking emails and social media.4. Use the Pomodoro Technique: This technique involves working for 25 minutes and then taking a 5-minute break. After four cycles, take a longer break of 15-30 minutes. This method helps maintain focus and prevents burnout.5. Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself when you procrastinate. Understand that everyone struggles with this habit at times. Acknowledge your progress and celebrate small victories along the way.6. Seek support: Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who can hold you accountable and provide motivation. Joining a study group or hiring a coach can also be beneficial.7. Reflect on past successes: Remind yourself of times when you overcame procrastination and achieved your goals. This will help build confidence and motivate you to continue overcoming this habit. In conclusion, procrastination is a common enemy that we all face. By understanding its causes, effects, and implementing practical strategies, we can conquer this habit and pave the way for productivity and success. Remember, it is never too late to start. Take control of your time, commit to your goals, and embrace the journey to a more fulfilling life.Thank you for your attention, and may we all conquer procrastination together.。

演讲拖延症英语作文模板英文:As a chronic procrastinator when it comes to public speaking, I have definitely struggled with speech procrastination. It seems like every time I have a presentation or a speech to give, I find myself putting it off until the last minute. This has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety, as I often feel unprepared and rushed when the time finally comes to speak in front of an audience. One of the main reasons I procrastinate when it comes to public speaking is because I have a fear of being judged or making a mistake. I worry that I won't be able to articulate my thoughts effectively, or that I'll stumble over my words and embarrass myself in front of others. This fear of failure often leads me to avoid working on my speech altogether, as a way to avoid facing my anxiety head-on.Another reason for my speech procrastination is that I often struggle with perfectionism. I want my speech to be flawless and impactful, so I put a lot of pressure onmyself to deliver something truly remarkable. This pressure can be paralyzing at times, and it often leads me to procrastinate on my speech because I feel overwhelmed bythe high expectations I've set for myself. In addition, I also tend to underestimate the amount of time and effort it takes to prepare a speech. I convince myself that I work better under pressure and that I'll be able to whip something together at the last minute. However, this often results in a subpar performance and a lot of unnecessary stress. To overcome my speech procrastination, I have started implementing some strategies to help me better manage my time and reduce my anxiety. For example, I now break down the speech preparation process into smaller, more manageable tasks, and I set specific deadlines for each one. This helps me stay on track and prevents me from leavingeverything until the last minute.I also try to reframe my mindset and focus on the value of the message I want to convey, rather than getting caught up in the fear of judgment or the pursuit of perfection. By shifting my perspective, I am able to approach speech preparation with a more positive and proactive attitude.Furthermore, I have also sought out opportunities to practice public speaking in low-stakes environments, such as with friends or in small groups. This has helped mebuild my confidence and become more comfortable with speaking in front of others, which has in turn reduced my anxiety and procrastination tendencies.Overall, while I still struggle with speech procrastination from time to time, I have made significant progress in overcoming this challenge. By understanding the root causes of my procrastination and implementingeffective strategies to manage it, I have become more confident and capable in my public speaking abilities.中文:作为一个在公开演讲方面经常拖延的人,我确实在演讲拖延症上有所挣扎。

It is my great pleasure to stand before you today to address a topic that affects many of us in one way or another: procrastination. As college students, we are often bombarded with numerous responsibilities, deadlines, and expectations. Amidst this chaos, procrastination can become our silent nemesis, derailing our academic and personal growth. Therefore, it is crucial that we recognizethe impact of procrastination and take proactive steps to conquer this academic monster.First and foremost, let us acknowledge the prevalence of procrastination in our lives. It is not uncommon for us to find ourselves engrossed in social media, watching endless episodes of our favorite TV shows, or even organizing our study space instead of focusing on our assignments. We may justify our actions by convincing ourselves that we are more productive when we are in a "mood" or when we have a "better time." However, the reality is that procrastination is a harmful habit that can have severe consequences on our academic performance and mental well-being.The first consequence of procrastination is the loss of valuable time. When we delay our tasks, we are essentially pushing our responsibilities further into the future, leading to an ever-growing mountain of work. This can result in panic, stress, and an overwhelming sense of guilt as the deadline approaches. Moreover, the quality of our work is likely to suffer when we are forced to rush through tasks in a panic-stricken manner. We may miss out on important details, make mistakes, and ultimately submit subpar work.Secondly, procrastination can hinder our personal growth and development. College is a time for us to explore our interests, acquire new skills, and cultivate habits that will serve us well in the future. However, when we spend our time procrastinating, we are not only wasting our time but also missing out on valuable opportunities to learn and grow. We may find ourselves at the end of our academic journey with a wealth of knowledge but also with a sense of regret for the time we could have dedicated to personal development.Furthermore, procrastination can take a toll on our mental health. The constant pressure to meet deadlines and the fear of failure can lead to anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. The negative self-talk that often accompanies procrastination can further exacerbate these problems. We may begin to question our self-worth and feel inadequate, which can have long-lasting consequences on our overall well-being.So, how can we overcome this academic monster? Here are some strategies that may help us conquer procrastination:1. Set Clear Goals: Begin by defining clear, achievable goals for your tasks. Break down large assignments into smaller, manageable parts, and set deadlines for each part. This will help you stay organized and focused on your goals.2. Create a Routine: Establish a daily routine that allocates specific times for studying, working on assignments, and taking breaks. Stick to this routine as closely as possible to create a sense of structure and discipline.3. Eliminate Distractions: Identify the sources of distraction in your environment and take steps to eliminate them. This may involve turning off your phone, logging out of social media, or finding a quiet place to work.4. Use Time Management Techniques: Techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique, where you work for a set period (e.g., 25 minutes) and then take a short break, can help you stay focused and avoid burnout.5. Seek Support: Don't hesitate to reach out to friends, family, or mentors for support and accountability. They can help keep you motivated and on track.6. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself when you find yourself procrastinating. Acknowledge that everyone struggles with this issue at times and that it is okay to make mistakes. Learn from them and move forward.7. Reward Yourself: Set up a reward system for completing tasks. This can help you stay motivated and make the process more enjoyable. In conclusion, procrastination is a common challenge that we all face at some point in our academic journey. By recognizing its impact and implementing effective strategies to overcome it, we can transform our lives for the better. Let us embrace the power of discipline, perseverance, and self-awareness to conquer the academic monster of procrastination and achieve our full potential.Thank you for your attention, and may we all find the strength to overcome this common obstacle and succeed in our academic endeavors.[The end]第3篇Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. Do you struggle with procrastination, constantly delaying things that you know you should be doing? If so, you're not alone. Procrastination is a common problem that many people struggle with, myself included.I used to be a chronic procrastinator. I would always put off studying for exams, leaving everything until the night before. I would delay starting important projects at work, causing unnecessary stress and anxiety. I even procrastinated on simple tasks like doing the laundry or paying bills, which only led to more frustration in the long run.Procrastination is a habit that can be difficult to break. It's often rooted in fear – fear of failure, fearof not meeting expectations, or even fear of success. We tell ourselves that we work better under pressure, but in reality, procrastination only leads to poor quality work and added stress. It wasn't until I realized the negative impact that procrastination was having on my life that I decided to make a change. I started by breaking tasks down into smaller, more manageable steps, and setting specific deadlines for each one. This helped me to stay focused and motivated, and I found that I was able to complete tasks more efficiently and with better results.I also learned to recognize when I was making excuses to avoid a task, and to challenge those excuses with positive self-talk. Instead of saying "I'll do it later," I started telling myself "I'll feel so much better once it's done." This shift in mindset helped me to overcome my procrastination tendencies and become more proactive in tackling my responsibilities.中文:你有没有发现自己总是推迟重要任务,最后才匆忙完成?你是否与拖延症抗争,不断延迟你知道应该做的事情?如果是的话,你并不孤单。

day you got your assignment or work. The truth is,only at the day before DDL,can you achieve the highest efficiency. And we always call that “procrastination”,which means “willingly” deferring something even though you expect the delay to make you worse. In my word,it is although you have known you have do it now,but still, youdon’t move on until last time. So,as you see, today my topic is How to solve “procrastination”,I divide my topic into 3 parts.First, disadvantages of procrastination.Second, reasons of st,methods to solve this problem. In this part I will bring you an interesting practice about time control andsome suggestions, believe me,it is very practical. Now,the disadvantagesof procrastination.First, you cannot achieve your goal. For example: Girls always say:“ oh I’m on diet,I want to put out my weight” But one problem is that few people can do this fitness plan, for FpgFpg many reasons:today I feel depressed, only eating can cure me/I’m really tired now,so just do some exercisetomorrow~ you always have various excuses to take action, and then, your goals become dreams, you can never achieve it.Second, procrastination makes you in hurry,so you cannot do things better. For example, you have a date in the evening, but you browsed micro blog again and again, chatted with your friends, thinking about you still have time to prepare. But at last, you have to make up in a short time.So this is the appearance you should have had, butthisisthereality. It cut down the quality of work. You should have done you better, don’t you?Last, procrastination does harm to mental health. Some people don’t start to deal with their work until the last minute,so once they start, they usually become extremely nervous, because so much work put a lot of pressure on them.Sometimes, whenpeople faced with much work to be done, they may become anxious and upset. There is no doubt that these negative emotion anFpgFpg d great pressure can make people feel depressed, and less confident. In a nutshell, putting things off has so many bad influences on people’s life, so it is very essential for those delayers to try to get rid of this bad habit. So let us find the reasons of procrastination: 1lack of managing time Time treats everyone fairly that we all have 24 hours per day. Some of us are capable to make good use of time while some find it hard to do so.The vital reason of procrastination is you cannot control your time correctly, and you put too much time on non-essentialthings.2 find too many excuses. When you face a problem or some work, you always can find lots of excusestoavoidthem. You chat with your friends through QQ, surf the Internet and go shopping on taobao as if they are essential, but they are not,you know it,you just find some excuse to delay your work.FpgFpg After this analysis,I have some ideas that maybe can help you.First is a method of time-control.I kept on trying this method for a long time.It really benefits me and helps me reduce the symptoms of procrastination. So listening carefully~: List 3 most important things you want to do or you have to do when you wake up in the morning, then record them on paper or on your webpage. There should be attention:1,Choose only 3 things which you must finish today.2,you can also plan to do other things too,but you can forget them today if you want.3,the thing can be formal, such as I should finish my paper today. The things can be small and secret:I will sent a message to my dream lover. This method can make you know what you should do today clearly and exactly. It makes you realize where should your time spend on,why you should do them without hesitation, and then, you cannot find any other reason to delay them.FpgFpg And my second suggestion, about people find too many excuses when procrastination. It is quite simple:when you have known what you should do,just do it,and when you prepare to work,Don’t touch your mobile phone!Stay away from Internet!Never open We chat or micro blog!find all your excuses you have talked, and next time, they cannot be reasonsto procrastination.Procrastination has bad impacts on our lives and we should eliminate it as much as possible.I hope my advicewill help you!FpgFpg Outline Disadvantages of procrastination.λ You cannot achieve your goal 1.Girls on diet λ Procrastination makes you in hurry,so you cannot do things better.1.Makeup λProcrastination does harm to mental Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. Today, I stand before you to address a common yet often misunderstood challenge that plagues many of us –procrastination. It is a habit that can hinder our progress, waste our time, and ultimately leave us feeling overwhelmed and unfulfilled. So,let us embark on a journey to conquer procrastination and unlock ourtrue potential.Firstly, let's define procrastination. It is the act of delaying or postponing tasks to a later time, often resulting in unnecessary stress and a feeling of being overwhelmed. While it may seem like a minor issue, the consequences of procrastination can be severe. It can lead to missed deadlines, lower quality work, and even a decline in mental and physical health. Now, why do we procrastinate? There are several reasons behind this common behavior. One of the primary reasons is fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of not being good enough can paralyze us and prevent us from taking action. Additionally, perfectionism can be a significant factor. We may put off tasks because we believe that ourwork will never be good enough, leading to an endless cycle of doubt and inaction. But fear not, for there is a way to overcome this challenge. Here are some strategies that can help us conquer procrastination and achieve our goals:1. Set Clear Goals: Begin by setting clear, achievable goals. Break down your tasks into smaller, manageable steps, and create a realistic timeline. This will help you stay focused and motivated.2. Create a To-Do List: Start each day by making a to-do list.Prioritize your tasks based on their importance and urgency. This will give you a clear direction and help you stay organized.3. Eliminate Distractions: Identify the factors that distract you and take steps to eliminate them. This might involve turning off your phone, using website blockers, or finding a quiet place to work.4. Use the Pomodoro Technique: This technique involves working for 25 minutes and then taking a 5-minute break. This helps maintain your focus and prevent burnout.5. Accountability: Share your goals with a friend, family member, or colleague. Having someone to hold you accountable can be a powerful motivator.6. Reward Yourself: Set up a reward system for completing tasks. This can be as simple as a coffee break, a walk, or a new book. Rewards can help keep you motivated and make the process more enjoyable.7. Mindfulness and Meditation: Practice mindfulness and meditation to stay grounded and focused. These techniques can help reduce stress and improve your overall mental well-being.8. Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself. Understand that everyone procrastinates at times, and it's okay to make mistakes. Learn from them and move forward. Now, let's consider a few real-life examples of individuals who overcame procrastination and achieved remarkable success. Take, for instance, Leonardo da Vinci. He was known for his procrastination, yet he managed to create some of the most iconic works of art in history. How? By setting daily goals and constantly revising his approach. Another example is J.K. Rowling, who was struggling with writer's block when writing the first Harry Potter book. She overcame her procrastination by setting aside time each day to write, regardless of how little she felt like it.In conclusion, procrastination is a common challenge, but it is not insurmountable. By adopting the strategies I've outlined today, we can conquer this habit and pave the way for a more productive, fulfilling life.Remember, success is not measured by the absence of procrastination but by the presence of action. Take charge of your time, commit to your goals, and let go of the fear that holds you back. With determination and perseverance, you can overcome procrastination and achieve greatness.Thank you for your attention, and here's to a future where we embrace our potential, conquer procrastination, and create a life that we are truly proud of.。

Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. Today, I stand before you to address a common yet often overlooked challenge that plagues many of us: procrastination. The act of delaying important tasks until the last possible moment is not only detrimental to our productivity but also to our mental and emotional well-being. In this speech, I will explore the nature of procrastination, its causes, and most importantly, strategies to overcome it. Let us embark on this journey together.Firstly, let us delve into the nature of procrastination.Procrastination is not simply about putting off tasks; it is a complex psychological phenomenon that involves the deliberate choice to delay an action despite acknowledging the potential negative consequences. This behavior is often driven by fear, perfectionism, and a lack of motivation. For many, procrastination is a way to cope with stress, anxiety, or an overwhelming sense of responsibility. Why do we procrastinate? There are several factors that contribute to this pervasive problem. One of the primary reasons is the human brain's natural inclination towards immediate gratification. Our brains are wired to seek out rewards and avoid pain. When faced with a challenging task, our brain may trigger the "fight or flight" response, leading us to seek comfort and distraction rather than confronting the task at hand. Moreover, perfectionism plays a significant role in procrastination. Perfectionists often fear that their work will not meet their high standards, leading them to delay the task indefinitely. This fear of failure can be paralyzing and prevent us from taking any action at all.Another common cause of procrastination is a lack of structure and time management skills. When we fail to plan our tasks effectively, we may feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to start. This uncertainty can lead to a cycle of avoidance and procrastination. Now that we understand the causes of procrastination, let's explore some strategies to overcome it. The first step is to recognize andacknowledge our procrastination patterns. By becoming aware of our triggers and tendencies, we can begin to take control of our actions. One effective strategy is to break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. This approach, often referred to as "chunking," helps to reduce the perceived complexity of a task and makes it more attainable. By focusing on one small step at a time, we can gradually work our way through the entire task.Another powerful technique is the Pomodoro Technique, which involves working for a set period of time (usually 25 minutes) followed by a short break (5 minutes). This method helps to maintain focus and avoid burnout, making it easier to stay on track with our tasks.Furthermore, setting clear goals and deadlines is crucial in overcoming procrastination. By defining specific objectives and establishing a timeline, we create a sense of urgency and commitment. This can help us stay motivated and focused on our goals. One of the most effective ways to combat procrastination is to establish a supportive environment. This means minimizing distractions and creating a workspace that fosters productivity. By removing potential distractions, we can better concentrate on our tasks and reduce the temptation to procrastinate. In addition to these practical strategies, it is important to address the underlying psychological factors that contribute to procrastination. This can involve working on our self-esteem, developing resilience, and cultivating a growth mindset. By embracing challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement, we can overcome the fear of failure and take proactive steps towards our goals. In conclusion, procrastination is a common yet insidious enemy that can hinder our progress and well-being. By understanding its causes and implementing effective strategies, we can overcome this challenge and pave the way for a more productive and fulfilling life.To conquer procrastination, we must first acknowledge our patterns, break tasks into manageable steps, set clear goals and deadlines, createa supportive environment, and address the psychological factors that contribute to our procrastination. By doing so, we can transform our lives and achieve our full potential.Thank you for listening, and let us all strive to overcome procrastination and embrace the path to productivity. Together, we can create a brighter future for ourselves and those around us.[The speech can be further customized with personal anecdotes, examples, or interactive elements to engage the audience.]。

Say Goodbye to ProcrastinationGood evening, ladies and gentlemen!Have you always been reluctant to go to bed in the evening, while reluctant to wake up in the morning? Have you ever stayed up late to finish your homework? Do you often put off your important work later and later? If your answer is YES, my friend, you might have a bad habit . It’s called PROCRASTINATION.What is procrastination? Basically, it is the act of putting off essential tasks until a later time. That is to say, you are lazy to do things in immediate time. For example, 3 weeks ago, Li Wei told me that I could deliver my C5 speech on March the 1st , that is today. I said OK, no problem.! Of course, “3 weeks” to me, that’s enough time to prepare a good speech. However, until last Wednesday, Li Wei reminded me again about my speech, and asked me to give the title before Friday. Then I suddenly felt nervous, “ oh my god! There’s only one week left for me to prepare, I must get started tomorrow!” The next 2 days, I was so busy looking for a right topic, but my head was like twisted, ended up with no idea. Until Saturday morning, I could finally send a title to Li Wei”Don’t Be Lazy”, just like to catch the deadline. But just after that, I found nothing interesting to write about this topic. You know what? At last, I had to change the title again the very next day. This whole thing made me very upset. Istarted to question myself, why couldn’t I prepare the speech earlier? Why should I suffer from such stress and anxiety? Am I lazy? Or just too confident to finish my task until last minute?I tried to understand the reason of my bad mood and the awkward situation. I surfed the internet, and learned this word Procrastination. I found it is a very common phenomenon already popular from our school time! According to an academic survey, 80%-95% school students engage in procrastination, about 75% considering themselves procrastination. The worse thing is, this bad habit grows with us, from school time to our future career and life, preventing us from doing things efficiently, weakening our ability to achieve our goals, bringing us panic and even mental illness. There are some simple reasons for this. Such as, the task seems too difficult , time is not enough, lack of knowledge or skills, fears of making mistakes, and so on. There are also some complex reasons like perfectionism, low frustration tolerance, and lack of self-confidence.Is it possible for us to overcome procrastination? Yes. We can do it step by step.Step 1, acknowledge that you are delaying a task;Step 2, list the reasons why you are delaying the task;Step 3, discuss the reasons and list ways to overcome them;Step 4, begin the task immediately! In order to do this successfully, you need to write down your task in a visible place, and put it on the wall with deadline marked. Try to break the task into components, small goals will be easy to achieve. “To earn a 100 million first” is a good idea. Then you need to tell everybody about your goal, they will motivate you along the way. And try to encourage yourself all the way by rewarding yourself for a job well done. All these useful tips willhelp you.My dear friends, procrastination is our enemy, like a thief stealing our time and dreams. Overcoming it will do you a great favor in terms of study and life. Whatever we need to do, just do it now! Action is most important. If you want to go travel, take action! If you want to learn driving, take action! If you want to keep fit, take action! If you want to show your love to somebody, take action! If you want to fire your stupid boss, take action! If you want to do a speech, take action! If you want to say goodbye to PROCRASTINATION, take action!Thank you.

Hello, everyone. It’s nice to share stories of my growing pains with you. Growing up is not always enjoyable. As the old saying goes "No pains, no gains", my pains provided me with an opportunity for better personal growth.Once I took part in a birthday party of my classmate. It was really such a great time that I went home with a pretty happy look. In the evening, I wrote some memories of this evening in my diary. But my mother peeked at my diary, which I never ever had expected. I felt so sad that I couldn’t help arguing with her.I even shouted at her, "How can you look at my dairy!"Then a cold war happened between us and lasted for almost a week. I finally apologized to her for my arguing, and my mother also promised not to peek at my diary any more. Luckily, my mother and I learned to understand each other from then on. Thanks very much for your attention.。

It's a sly adversary, disguising itself as a harmless companion of leisure and instant rewards, only to reveal its true colors as a relentless robber of time, ambition, and potential. This essay delves into the intricacies of procrastination, exploring its roots, impacts, and strategies for overcoming its grasp. The Roots of the MaladyProcrastination, at its core, stems from a complex interplay of psychological, emotional, and environmental factors. On the psychological plane, it can be a manifestation of perfectionism, where the fear of failure or the quest for flawlessness paralyzes individuals into inaction. Emotionally, it may be fueled by anxiety, stress, or a lack of motivation, causing tasks to seem overwhelming and insurmountable. And environmentally, distractions abound—the ever-present ping of notifications, the allure of social media, and the lure of instant gratification all contribute to the procrastination cycle. The Ripple EffectsThe consequences of procrastination are far-reaching and often insidious. It undermines productivity, leading to missed deadlines, incomplete projects, and reduced work quality. It fosters a sense of guilt and self-doubt, as the realization of lost opportunities and unfinishedtasks weighs heavily on one's conscience. Moreover, chronic procrastination can damage relationships, both personal and professional, as it breeds unreliability and trust issues. In the long run, it can stifle personal growth and the pursuit of goals, leaving individuals stuck in a cycle of dissatisfaction and mediocrity.Breaking the ChainNavigating through the treacherous waters of procrastination requires a multifaceted approach. Here are a few strategies that can serve as stepping stones towards overcoming this malady:1. Set Clear Goals and Deadlines: Break down large tasks into manageable chunks, each with specific deadlines. This helps to create a sense of urgency and accomplishment as smaller milestones are reached.2. Eliminate Distractions: Create a dedicated workspace free from interruptions. Turn off notifications, close unnecessary tabs, and set boundaries around your work time.3. Embrace Imperfection: Recognize that nothing is ever truly perfect. Shift your focus from striving for flawlessness to continuous improvement. Celebrate small wins and learn from mistakes.4. Utilize Time Management Techniques: Techniques like the Pomodoro Method (working in focused 25-minute intervals followed by short breaks) can help boost concentration and productivity.5. Find Your Motivation: Identify what truly motivates you and tie your tasks to those motivations. Whether it's personal growth, financial stability, or simply the satisfaction of ajob well done, let your motivations drive your actions.6. Seek Support: Don't hesitate to ask for help or share your struggles with others. A supportive community can provide accountability, encouragement, and practical advice.ConclusionProcrastination, though a formidable challenge, is not an insurmountable obstacle. By acknowledging its presence, understanding its roots, and embracing strategies for overcoming it, we can reclaim control over our time, productivity, and lives. Remember, every step taken towards breaking the procrastination cycle is a step closer to unlocking your full potential and achieving your dreams. As the ancient proverb goes, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Let that step be the first towards defeating procrastination and embracing a life of purpose and fulfillment.中文对照翻译:书名:拖延的诅咒:穿越延迟满足的迷宫在现代生活的迷宫般的走廊里,潜伏着一个可怕的敌人,它折磨着无数人的思想,阻碍了进步:拖延症。

Today, I want to talk to you about a topic that affects many of us, and that is the issue of procrastination, or what is commonly known as "TED拖延症".Procrastination is something that we have all experienced at some point in our lives. It is the act of delaying or postponing tasks, often to the point of creating unnecessary stress and anxiety. We all know the feeling of having a deadline looming over us, yet we still find ourselves unable to start or complete the task at hand.So why do we procrastinate? There are many reasons, but one of the main causes is fear. Fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, fear of the unknown. We put off our tasks because we are afraid of the outcome, and this fear paralyzes us, preventing us from taking action.Another reason for procrastination is a lack of motivation. When we don't feel inspired or passionate about a task, it's easy to put it off in favor of more enjoyable activities. We convince ourselves that we will do it later, when we are in the right mood or mindset, but often that time never comes.Procrastination also stems from a lack of self-discipline. We give in to our impulses and desires, choosing instant gratification over long-term goals. We tell ourselves that we will start tomorrow, or next week, but in reality, we are only delaying our progress and success. But the consequences of procrastination can be severe. It can lead to increased stress, anxiety, and even depression. It can also result in poor performance, missed opportunities, and damaged relationships. Procrastination not only affects our personal lives, but it can also have a negative impact on our professional and academic endeavors. So how can we overcome procrastination? The first step is to acknowledge and understand the reasons behind our procrastination. By identifying our fears, lack of motivation, and self-discipline, we can begin to address these issues and make positive changes in our behavior. We can also break down our tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. By setting realistic goals and deadlines, we can create a sense of accomplishment and momentum, which can help us overcome our tendency to procrastinate.Furthermore, finding ways to stay motivated and inspired is crucial. Whether it's seeking support from friends and family, finding a mentor, or simply reminding ourselves of our long-term goals, staying motivated can help us push through our procrastination and stay on track. In conclusion, procrastination is a common problem that affects many of us, but it is not insurmountable. By understanding the root causes of our procrastination and taking proactive steps to address them, we can overcome our tendency to delay and achieve our goals. Let's not let procrastination hold us back any longer. Thank you.。

ted拖延症演讲稿英文

ted拖延症演讲稿英文Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening! It's a great pleasure to be here today to talk about a topic that I believe affects each and every one of us - procrastination. We've all been there, haven't we? Staring at a blank page, a stack of unread emails, or an overflowing to-do list, and somehow finding ourselves watching cat videos on YouTube instead. Procrastination, my friends, is a silent enemy that sneaks up on us and steals our productivity, our time, and our potential. But why do we procrastinate? Is it laziness, or is it something more? According to心理学家 procrastination is a complex behavior that can stem from a variety of reasons, including fear of failure, perfectionism, lack of motivation, or even a overwhelmed by the task at hand. And while some procrastination may seem like a minor inconvenience, for others, it can lead to significant consequences, such as missed deadlines, failed relationships, and even lost opportunities. So, how do we combat this seemingly ubiquitous phenomenon? How do we break the cycle of procrastination and reclaim our lives? Well, I'm here to tell you that it's not impossible. In fact, I believe that with the right strategies and mindset, we can overcome procrastination and unlock our full potential.First and foremost, we need to acknowledge that procrastination is a common human experience. It's okay to feel overwhelmed or unmotivated sometimes. The key is not to beat ourselves up for it but to recognize it as a sign that we need to adjust our approach. Instead of seeing procrastination as a character flaw, let's view it as an opportunity for growth and self-improvement.Next, we need to develop strategies to manage our tendencies to procrastinate. One effective method is to break down our tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks. By doing this, we can avoid feeling overwhelmed and make progress on our projects step by step. Another strategy is to set clear deadlines for ourselves, either by setting a specific date or using productivity tools that help us stay on track. Additionally, it can be helpful to create a reward system for ourselves, where we reward ourselves with a small treat or a short break after completing a task.Another important aspect of overcoming procrastination is developing a growth mindset. Instead of viewing challenges as obstacles, let's see them as opportunities to learn and grow. By embracing a growth mindset, we can develop resilience and adaptability, which are crucial in the face of setbacks and failures. Finally, let's not forget the importance of self-care. Taking care of our physical and mental health is essential for maintaining productivity andavoiding the pitfalls of procrastination. This means getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and taking breaks when we need them. By taking care of ourselves, we can ensure that we have the energy and mental clarity to tackle our tasks effectively. In conclusion, procrastination is a common challenge that we all face, but it doesn't have to define us. By developing strategies to manage our tendencies to procrastinate, embracing a growth mindset, and taking care of ourselves, we can overcome procrastination and unlock our full potential. So let's step into the future, unencumbered by the chains of procrastination, and embrace the power of our potential. Thank you for listening.。

ted英文演讲稿篇一As you slowly open your eyes, look around, notice where the light comes into your room;listen carefully, see if there are new sounds you can recognize;feel with your body and spirit, and see if you can sense the freshness in the air.Yes, it's a new day,it's a different day,and its a bright day!And most importantly,it is a new beginning for your life,a beginning where you are going to make new desicisions, take new actions, make new friends, and take your life to a totally unprecedented level! In your mind's eye, you can see clearly the things you want to have, the paces you intend to go,the relationships you desire to develop, and the positions you aspire to reach. You can hear your laughters of joy and happiness on the day when everything happens as you dream. You can see the smiles on the people around you when the magic moment strikes. You can feel your face is getting red, your heart is beating fast, and your blood is rushing all over your body,to every single corner of your being! You know all this is real as long as you are confident, passionate and committed! And you are confident, you are passionate, you are committed! You will no longer fear making new sounds, showing new facial expressions, using your body in new ways, approaching new people, and asking new questions. You will live every single day ofyour life with absolute passion, and you will show your passion through the words you speak and the actions you take. You will focus all your time and effort on the most important goals of your life. You will never succumb to challenges of hardships. You will never waver in your pursuit of excellence. After all,you are the best, and you deserve the best!As your coach and friend,I can assure you the door to all the best things in the world will open to you,but the key to that door is in your hand. You must do your part, you must faithfully follow the plans you make and take the actions you plan, you must never quit, you must never fear.I know you must do it,you can do it,you will do it,and you will succeed! Now stand firm and tall, make a fist, get excited, and yell it out:I must do it!I can do it! I will do it!I will succeed!ted英文演讲稿篇二Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. To answer it, first I have to ask “wha t do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshness of the deep spring of life.A poet said “To see a world i n a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. Several days ago, I had a chance to listen to alecture. I learnt a lot there. I’d like to share it with all of you. Let’s show our right pal ms. We can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. I have a short line of life. What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way. Well, let’s make a fist. Where is our future? Where is our love, career, and life? Tell me.Yeah, it is in our hands. It is held in ourselves. We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go better itself. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. From the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder. As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. The past has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “We are the world, we are the future.”ted英文演讲稿篇三Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical therapist(临床医学家) who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a census(调查) about mountain gorillas(大猩猩). These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching(偷猎) and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for thosebeautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled(拥抱) their babies.Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Dian Fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the eco-environment there until the very end of her life.To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless(永恒的) reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks. All these appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding(侵蚀) our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first timeto bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our eco-environment.Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids(残疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care, because they still want their Mother Nature back. Because they know it still belongs to them.。

Good morning, everyone, I’m XX. My topic today is Procrastination. Firstly, let’s consider the following questions.
1、Have you always been reluctant to go to bed in the evening, while reluctant to wake up in the morning?
2、Have you ever stayed up late to finish your homework? Someone may say:”I sent today’s ppt to teacher just at the last minute before deadline last evening”
3、Do you often put off your important work later and later?
If you answer is yes, congratulations!
You have had the procrastination!
You are already a procrastinator!
So What is Procrastination?
Basically, procrastination is the act of putting off essential tasks until a later time. Also, it is too lazy to do what you should do.
According to a survey conducted by China Youth Daily in 2011 found that about 73% people
acknowledge that they have developed varying degrees of procrastination. Amazing right? Not surprising! It’s truth. Everyone may suffer from procrastination and procrastination does exist!
Look at the timeline that a procrastinator may have experienced. At first, a deadline is set, maybe there is one week until the assignment is handed in. Then, we will own the false sence of security that we have a plenty of time. But, as time gose by, we will talk to ourselves, for exampl e,”I will get started soon.” At last, panic and stress is really coming. And, at that time, maybe you will say:”Oh, no! the assignment should be handed in tomorrow!”
Procrastination brings us some negative effects. Such as stress and anxiety, be in a bad mood, we will not sleep well which may lead to health problems. And most importantly, our quality of work may suffer, especially if it’s done at the last minute.
So, what can we do to overcome procrastination.? Here are some helpful tips:
1、Write down your tasks in a visible place with their due dates. I’d like to call this reminder a To-d o list. You’ll make the tasks look more specific in this way.
2、Break the tasks into several parts. For example,
I break my ppt into 4 parts: lead-in questions, definition&reality, negative effects, and finally tips for overcoming. In this way, I make my preparation look easier in my mind. Ask yourself, “If I had nothing else to do, what’s the first step I could take on this task?” Write it down. Repeat with this step. Continue until you’ve written every step necessary.
3、Start now. If you don’t take action, your “later” excuse will finally become a “never” truth.
4、Reward yourself for a job well done. You will gradually enjoy yourself and be more competent.
Hope all of you can be an active self-starter, instead of a procrastinator. That’s all for today’s sharing, thank you for your listening.。
