My hobbies

I have many hobbies, such as reading books, watching movies, doing sports and painting. I like reading books because I can get lots of knowledge and find many interesting things. In my spare time, I like watching movies because it makes me happy and helps me to relax. I also like doing sports because it’s good for my health. Sometimes,

I enjoy painting. It is great fun and I want to be a drawer when I grow up.

My hobbies

Different people have different hobbies. I used to listen to music in my spare time. Listening to music helped me relax when I was tired. It also brought me happiness. Swimming is a good way to keep fit, and it can help to keep my heart and lungs healthy.

My weekend

Last Sunday I was very busy. I got up at 7:00 a.m. When Jim called me after breakfast, I was doing my homework. He wanted me to play with him. We were playing basketball happily from 10:00 to 12:00.

In the afternoon, I was washing my clothes from 2:00 to 2:30. From 3:00 to 4:00 I was reading comics. At 4:30 I went to see my grandparents with my parents. After we got back home, I helped my mother do the cooking. After supper, we all went out for a walk, and then we were watching TV from 8:00 to 9:00.

When I went to bed, I felt very tired, but I was very happy.

The flowers in Picture One are more beautiful than those in Picture Two. Look at the old man in Picture One. He is fishing near the river. The river is cleaner than that in Picture Two. We can also see taller and greener trees in Picture One. But in Picture Two, there are few trees. We are sure the air in the countryside is fresher than that in the city. Look at the road in Picture Two. It’s wider and busier than that in Picture One. And it’s dirtier at the same time. So we can say the countryside is quieter than the city.

三、比较两副图片，Which do you like better, the city or the countryside? (P84---3)

I like the countryside better. There are many cars in the city. I think it’s too noisy and dirty. But in the countryside, it’s quieter. And the air is fresher, the sky is bluer, and there are also greener trees and clearer rivers. People can enjoy nature there. I always go there for my summer vacation with my parents.

四、谈谈你对Internet 的想法。（P89---1c）

chat with their friends, listen to music, play games or do other things. It makes our life easier, nicer and more colorful. But it can also be bad for us. Fox example, it may cause headaches or sore eyes. What’s more, as students, we should study hard. So we shouldn’t spend too much time on the Internet.

五、如何使用英汉字典？（P90---2a）

Let me tell you how to use the English-Chinese dictionary.

The words in dictionaries are in alphabetical order. When you look up a word in the dictionary, you must pay attention to the first letter of the word. When two words begin with the same letter, you have to look at the second letter to find the word. If both the first and the second letters are the same, look at the third and so on.

六、写封信给Mike, 向他介绍一些你去过的名胜古迹。（P98---3）

Dear Mike,

I visited Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Warriors with my parents last week. It’s inXi’an. They are great! When I saw them, I felt very happy and excited. Qin Shihuang ordered his men to make them. It took a long time to build them. I think they’re one of the greatest wonders of the world. I am very proud to tell my friends about the history of them, and I really had a good time there.
